Apart from the 5x TP at Petroans, it's not really a very attractive CC in the market as compared to other siblings in Maybank offerings or other banks.

Other than that, is just like normal maybank CC. But one thing is that its annual fee is free for life. Very weird that other Maybank CC still collect annual fees?issit possible that normal Maybank CC annual fee is waivable?
*
It can be waived but it's very discretionary.

I talked to MBB Call Centre a few weeks ago. The CS recommended Visa Petronas if I want a card with zero annual fee for life. Other MBB cards are waivable too but subject to the bank's decision (which sounds kinda risky).

What is Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode?

Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode (depends on your card type) ensures that you can make safe online payments at participating internet shops with your Citi credit card. An extra personal password protects you against fraudulent online use of your activated Citi credit card.

How can I register for Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode?

No advance registration is required. It suffices to activate your Citi credit card for this service during internet shopping at a participating merchant.

How do I activate my Citi credit card for Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode?

During your first online purchase you will be asked to confirm your identity by answering several safety questions (confidentiality of this information is of course assured through the site’s security) and then be requested to create a personal password. You must of course use your password wisely and keep it secret.

Once your card has been activated, all participating internet shops can recognise you as a card holder. You will be asked to give your password during future online purchases. This confirms that you are the authorised card holder and your payment can be made. The merchant will not get to see your password.

Dude, Citibank Malaysia doesn't offer this kind of service yet. And you should refer to a local Citibank website and not Citibank Belgium.

Same thing to says with other' bank cards too, you have to request for waiver. Whether the banks grants it or not, that's another matter but in most case but not all, it will granted.

Slight correction. Best don't apply for the card if you have no intention to use it to avoid tax.
Generally the tax will be imposed (for new cards) the moment the card is approved. Whether you activate or not is irrelevant.

To those who are unware ....
Please don't treat the GST similar to Annual Fees. Likely you'll get very upset with the bank if they are not helpful. Which in 99% of the time, they will not entertain if you use the excuse of not activating the card.

Thanks for the clarification. Same thing happened to me.. I applied for AEON gold card.. to my surprise, i received the first statement with RM50 tax billed, even without me activating the card. So I *** kawed the customers service person for not waiving the tax.

Previously, AmBank issued me a card but I never activate it.. I called the customer service and they gladly cancel the card and waived the tax. I am really frustrated with AEON because they could not solve this small matter. Thumbs up for AmBank and thumbs down for AEON, particularly the customer service assistant who attended my call.

Yes ... if you read through the forum, generally banks use a 12 months card for reference. And in some rare cases as low as 6 months.
3 months ... I will say good luck lah. Since someone replied to just try your luck ... you gonna need a lot of luck.

My honest advise is that put yourself in the bank's shoes .... would you approve someone who uses a 3 months statement as proof ? Coz if you do, you need to apply the same treatment to the thousands of next applicants that comes by. Not to mention your bank's integrity will be questioned by the banking industry for such easy credit approval policy.

yes, temporary hold until the correct amount is posted
if you want to avoid RM200 hold, swipe at the cashier's counter and sign

If i am not mistaken, you cannot use a secured credit card to apply for another credit card.

You don't need to give your credit card statement. Just a photocopy of the card will do. However, most banks would require you to use it for more than 1 year before you can use your existing as a reference in applying for a new credit card from another bank.

Hmm, can't use a secured/fixed deposit pledge credit card to apply for a another credit card even the card is more than a year and show good records?

Anyone in banking industry can confirm this?
