CIMB yes, HSBC wise, depends on how long you've use the card I guess

I apply GSC-EON October last year, with RM3k CL, 2 months later, I apply CIMB Touch n Go, they give me RM7k CL biggrin.gif

btw, any EON Bank card holders here?
ever heard of the EON Bank - AIA Insurance scheme?

from RM34.75 ++ - RM57.75 +++ a month, some fella call me up if I am interested on the policy 2 days ago.
*
I see.. i have Visa Paywave Eon credit card which my credit limit is Rm4500.

do you mean u apply for CIMB touch n go after 2 months u got ur Eon bank credit card? how u apply? just use Eon bank credit card and IC to apply for cimb and they grant u Rm7k for ur credit limit? WOW...!!!

Eon bank is not wise in granting high Credit Limit...

It is a well known fact that cimb and standard chartered are extemely generous in granting Credit Limit even up to 10x monthly salary.

How about Maybank? What's your experience with it when it comes to Credit Limit? 2 x or 3 x monthly salary?
*
ha? standard chartered also wise in granting Credit Limit?

how about if i have Rm4.5k for my Eon credit limit? how much standard chartered will give roughly?

No. You are wrong. Time deposit will help. Different banks different policy though. For Maybank, you must have your salary credited into your savings account. Then you'll be eligible for a pre-approved credit card.

what is mean by time deposits?

These calls are random and it doesn't mean you don't get call banks are bad.
Understand this ...

MBB got over 1 million in cc customer base. Assuming even 0.1% of their base do transaction over RM1.6+++ or more at any one time, you are talking about 1000 calls that need to be done at a time. That's crazy right ? You wouldn't do it if you were MBB.

Do understand what are you asking for and what does it means.
*
err.. everytime i swipe above RM1k, maybank will call me for verification, never miss so far..

EON bank i spent above Rm3k in single receipt also never call... never receive their call for verification vmad.gif

well.. it depends, when u pay with a higher prestige cc while paying, u will be more sort of "confident". (imagine all people at the queue take out VI/Plat while someone take out a piece of norm cc, in case u in the high class places) This kind of self-boasting, although not really good, but sometimes are just useful.

Although i agree with u that in reality benefits are more realistic, even u only have cash back silver card.. smile.gif
*
some normal cc can have Credit Limit up to RM50 k - RM300k

some users just choose normal credit visa card but have high CL rather than platinum or visa signature

Anyone of experienced working in banking field staff here tell me whether i can apply other credit card from CIMB or Standard Chartered or Maybank with my existing Eon Bank credit card with RM4,500 credit limit. I am currently using my Eon bank credit card for 2 months only...

My question is, can i apply for other bank credit card although my Eon Bank credit card is not more than 1 year old?

Thanks!

In respect of your 1st paragraph, as rayfoo mentioned you will need a year to apply for other cards based on EON's card.

In respect of your 2nd paragraph. you can apply for other credit cards as long as you can proof you got income and meet their income requirements. Not only that, if you have read previous posts here, a member deposited money into OCBC FD and was issued the OCBC Titanum card eventhough his income did not qualify him for the card.
*
You mean Fixed deposit? then the bank will hold your fixed deposit certificate? wub.gif

No. Just that you won't be able to withdraw the money in the time deposit deposit account pledged as long as your card is still active.
*
Let say i apply and my credit card approved using Fixed deposit pledged, after 1 year , i use my current card(approved via FD) to apply for other bank's credit card, will the bank know/check out my existing card approved because of i'm using fixed deposit?

Will the bank approve my other credit card because of my current card using fixed deposit? rclxub.gif

Someone experienced in banking profession field clarify please,

Thank you!

When the other banks are processing your application, when they view your CCRIS, they can see your existing credit card is secured by a collateral - in your case fixed deposit certs. However, it is entirely up to their discretion to approve your application or otherwise.
*
So, thats mean i have a slight chance of getting approved? sad.gif

why not you just wait for a year? what's the hurry? you seem to be in a credit card marathon judging from your previous posts.

once banks think you are credit hungry, the chances of you getting their credit cards are miniscule.

they can tell whether or not you are credit hungry from the number of application submitted to other banks in the past six months which is visible in CCRIS whether successful or not.
*
what i mean is after 1 year, will i get the slight chance of approval because of pledge deposit of my existing credit card?

sources @ http://www.hlb.com.my/pfs/loan/loansmf.jsp?flag=loansmf

Collateral Accepted

* Cash / Fixed Deposits pledged to Hong Leong Bank
* Acceptable quoted shares on Bursa Malaysia
* Unit Trust funds managed by HLGUT

High Margin of Financing

* Up to 65% margin of financing

Trading Limit

* Up to a maximum of 2.8 times againts Cash / Fixed Deposits
* Up to a maximum of 1.8 times against Shares / HLG Unit Trusts

Thats mean Hong Leong Bank can use pledge deposit too?

2.8 times against cash/fixed deposits? what is this mean? anyone can explain?

How if i put pledge fixed deposit RM5,000 and what do 2.8 times means? meaning i will get credit limit for more than RM10k??

Hi Juno88,

Maybe you need to list your priority and also your monthly spending limit in order to see which card is suitable for you.
I can see some of your points are.
- shop, pay bills, petrol
- bonuslink card
- CIMB & Maybank acc
- 3k salary

Is it you only use Shell petrol? Or just because you want to get bonuslink points? Some petrol stations give you higher rebates, for example esso gives you 1.5% rebate by itself. But of course if you think only Shell suits your car better than any other petrol brand, then it’s a different story.

A few options here.
OCBC Titanium: 5% rebate on bills, petrol, groceries, restaurant, 1% for others.
Use bonuslink also when you pump petrol at Shell.
But do remember that if you are not a big spender, the first 1~2 months rebates you get could probably be used to cover the GST charge. Although this card is good but it still depends on your average monthly spending amount and the category that you spend, some people can hardly benefit from it based on their spending pattern, just because everyone says it is good and they apply it.
It may be a bit tough to apply as your monthly salary is about 3k.

I don’t see MB card has any benefit for you in this case and GST will not be waived normally. The Amex gold cc is quite a good card but in general it is second to OCBC Ti. I think you can get the card easily but CL will be a bit low.
For CIMB card, gives you points and great rebates if you spend frequently on Guardian, KFC, starbucks…

Using MBF card also gives you bonuslink point (RM10 = 3 points I think). GST waive upon successful application. If you think you prefer bonuslink points for redemption.

I can say the information you provided is not enough to judge which card is suitable for you and I would suggest you do some research on your own first or provide more information.
*
Bonuslink don't give you any points if you are using swiping/using credit card at Shell station?

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Yes
It is a credit card tax and it is applicable to each credit card you hold. It is RM50 tax for each principal credit card you hold and RM25 for each supplementary credit card. It is charged once a year on your card anniversary month.
*
filling petrol at SHELL station using credit card with bonuslink is not entitled to have any points for bonuslink

thats what EON bank CS told me.

Correct me if i'm wrong

Here's the correct one.
Petrol purchases would not qualify for points from any of the cc providers in Malaysia. However, petrol purchase rebates are excluded as these depends on the bank promotional offerings. so all credit cards will not give you points but you'll still be entitled for rebates depending on the bank promo.

You will still get Bonuslink points for petrol purchases. I know coz I do this - I get cash rebate and Bonuslink points.
Isn't it strange to the statement as bank and Bonuslink are 2 different entity altogether ?
*
Thank you for clarifying it...

Looks like EON CS sucks a lot mad.gif

1. yes, possible bcoz u just working for 5 months.
2. u cannot use amex to apply other card since requirement is 1 year age of the card (if u apply june this year then starting july next year u can start use it to apply other card - refer expiry date at ur card. add 1 month), but some bank do accept card with 6 month age only.
