generally the CIMB and DA have the same benefits i.e. merchants that offer discount to CIMB also applicable to Direct Access. However not the Case for islamic cards.

Some bank officers don't even know that Direct Access is from CIMB. When I went to MBB branch to reapply for MBB Petronas card gave them DAWMC, the officer asked if I got any other card? And I said is from CIMB lah, and she said she didn't know. Same case yesterday when I went to apply EON Signature card at branch, the officer also got no idea that DA is from CIMB. Once at MPH also, the staff said no discount voucher for DA. Conclusion, better get CIMB instead of DA.

huh... just call to ambank card center to check my cc application status... WTH... they say they didn't receive my form yet.... i have summit da form last last fridya.. which mean 12 nov... to da sri petaling branch.... ZZZZzzZZzz their service REALLY DAMN "FAST"

Have not faced this issue after 5 years of using DA. But recognition is actually really not an issue. Just turn over the card and let them read who issued it.

The only way to get speedy with the application is to submit the application to the AmBank card centre itself. Branch don't handle processing of the application, they just collect. Plus premium cc may get better priority than regular, gold or even platinum cards.

Don't complain bro ... 12 days is no big deal and the card centre process a lot of applications from all over Malaysia. I have waited for a credit card in the past to approve for as long as 2-3 months ... 12 days is still no big deal.

apply with another bank. i said 'new' bank. u need to apply like dont have credit card before, but just bring ur eon credit card statement (latest 3 months better) as supporting docs to ur payslips and bank statements.

bcoz most of the officers and shop workers really dont care much about credit cards, even in their own bank (for bank officers)! i faced it before. and most of them is 'young', might even dont know that Southern Bank was exist before! btw i am using DA since Southern Bank

if i didnt bring my EON credit card statement, the "new" bank can't able to check out how much per month i use and my payment whether is punctual or not?

The new bank can check how punctual you are but can't check how much per month if I'm not mistaken.

You do not have to surrender the card. However, if it is not canceled yet, it can still be used. Report a loss to your bank fast.

but applying another card at the same bank , thus the same bank can check how much u use per month right? and possibility to increase ur credit limit?

and moreover, same bank gets easier approval?

but same bank won't give you different CL for different card..

once approved, both old and new card shares the CL

Guys. I want to ask anyone out there who apply for Maybank Petronas Visa Gold Card and collect at branch?Besides the CC, what will be enclosed together?booklet?or got any other document enclosed 2gether?Because this the first time i collect at branch.thx

That time when I collect it, it only came with a card.

However for Ikhwan AMEX, it came with some brochures to explain about Islamic Banking and Islamic features of the CC.

That day i also got apply for maybank Touch and Go Zing card when i apply for my maybank Petronas visa gold, but today when i go collect,it says that i didnt apply the Zing Card.Then I have to wait for 2 weeks to get my Zing Card. Do you apply Zing card on the same time u apply Maybank Petronas Visa?

I didn't apply the Zing card. I feel that the fee is relatively expensive. RM 2 per reload.

Visa is my backup CC in case AMEX cannot go through or not acceptable.

I have plenty of auto debit to my Visa.

Apart from the 5x TP at Petroans, it's not really a very attractive CC in the market as compared to other siblings in Maybank offerings or other banks.

Other than that, is just like normal maybank CC. But one thing is that its annual fee is free for life. Very weird that other Maybank CC still collect annual fees?issit possible that normal Maybank CC annual fee is waivable?
