Hey I've seen that guy at 2.41 with the long hair. He used to do weightlifting but bombed out last year in the national games. He'd probably be better as a strongman anyway.

i think they both hv pros and cons. to me....

treadmill pros - absorbs shock, less strain on knees, can adjust incline, can workout in aircon room (for those who like it), u can monitor ur running speed/degree of incline and track progress easily, can workout regardless rain or shine.
cons - boring cos ur always in the same place, can get demotivating and tiring, time passes slowly

outdoor running pros - change of scenery, time passes more quickly, less boring
cons - impact on knees and joints, risk of getting caught in the rain, bad weather, hot sun

and i tend to be ambitious and run toooooooo far.... pancit somewhere and take AGES to come home LOL!!! *limp limp limp*  tongue.gif

i switch it up to make things interesting. but more often i will be choosing the treadmill or crosstrainer since i spend most of my day in the gym where i work... more convenient to just hop on one of the machines during off-peak.

Okay, though I don' usually run...I did coach at Pushmore and learned the POSErunning method. It's basically a technique where "cycle" while running. What this does is it reduces significantly the impact of running because there is no deceleration phase and thus the joints do not have to go through the constant thudding and thumping. It's just a "pull pull pull" method. It's a good technique to learn though can be a lil tiring on the calves at the beginning.

Lol, you realize that as a bodybuilder, i don't have functional strength, period. I bench 100kgs x 20 easy but you gimme a medium sized table and ask me to lug it up a 2 story building and I'm huffing and puffing like a steam engine.
Hell, doing extended CPR on a collapsed hypotensive patient almost killed me!

back then i was 167cm 60kgs with 10 to 11% body fat.

I was taking nitrotech and pure creatine. Standard sets of 12,10 and 8 reps, supersets and occasional giant sets.

after reaching plateau.. i started doing strength training of 6 reps of 80% of my 1 rep max..

control my eating, high protein low carbs.

........

Now i am 67kgs with 17.3% body, my muscle mass has increased but so as my body fat.. sad.gif
