Correct me if im wrong. The vol only works with rca cables(red/white).For hdmi connection u hv to read the manual where u can programmed the remote by entering specific code for yr tv and then control the vol by using astro remote.

just got my beyond HD installed today, impressed by the quality of the HD contents especially channel 831..hehe

i have 1 problem though, i cant control the volume using beyond's remote, i press up and down but the sound remains the same. Anyone got this similiar issue?

are you using the digital audio connection? If so this is a normal operation of any digital audio connection. digital audio does not offer volume control. You have to control the audio on the device that is controlling the speakers ie the TV or home theater.

press ok and volume up till the remote blinks twice to sync you remote to the tvs volumne.
read the manual for codes to sync the remote to control power and input selection of your tv also.
If you are connected via hdmi you should be able to control the decoder volume. I certainly can

I just realized the Astro B.Yond page did not mention to subscribe over the phone at their hotline. They have removed it. Does it mean we can't subscribe B.Yond over the phone?

Dunno the latest info but I subscribe through phone. hmm.gif

Hi all, just want to confirm my understanding below is correct for Audio setup.

Setup 1: (Pro-Logic)

Connect using HDMI from decoder to TV, then RCA frm TV to amp. Remote should work to control volume right?

Seyup 2: (HD quality sound)

Connect HDMI from decoder to TV, then HDMI from TV to amp.

Yerp.Byond remote can be configured to control on/off TV, mute and Vol +/-

Just follow instruction on page 16 in Byond manual.. or press ok and byond on/off power..key in 4 digit key for your brand..and try wether its work..if not..proceed to 2nd 4 digit key

Anyway i'm very sure that they are people who didnt bother to read the manual to know that they can actually programmed the remote

anyway apexg..should we do some FAQ or tip&tricks for Astro Byond at first page?

Not really. The remote works with your TV to control the volume but the audio out is at a standard level. Just like how the stereo out from a DVD player is at a standard level.

Incorrect. B.yond->HDMI->Receiver->HDMI->HDTV. OR B.yond->HDMI->HDTV for video, and B.yond->Coax->Receiver for audio.

i'm using hdmi cable connect to my tv, i tried the method above just like in the manual many times, the light blinks twice but still no volume control.
I'll probably try again tomorrow, hope it would work then after updating, kinda tedious to control 2 remotes at a time sad.gif

thank you all for your advice and feedback notworthy.gif

Just installed Astro HD today. Problem with HDMI connection to Panasonic Plasma, cannot get picture when selecting 720P or 1080i. 576P does display picture but distorted.

The same plasma connecting to PS3 and ACRyan Media player with HDMI without any problem. The installer can't offer any help.

Anyone of you having such problem?

Some of you posted to use Component Video for HD. I tried but it does not allow selecting "High Definition" in TV setting. Only "Standard Definition" is shown.

Please help.

Thanks

Check if your tv supports HDCP. if yes, check yr decoder or call an astro technician.. b.yond does not support HD output on Component
