A: To claim warranty you need the person who bought the iPhone which is under his/her name to be present. Requires I/C (of original owner) and warranty card.

Regarding the previous person who saw two hairline scratches after activation, if that happens, can you ask for a direct swap over the counter? I think I'll do a thorough check when I get mine. Lifetime check, dead pixel, scratch check, make sure no headphone buzz, etc etc.

lazy go n exchange (unlikely can exchange oso bcoz scratch can claim done by owner since din check before leave counter)
but it not very obvious, exchange need reset all content den backup>upgrade>restore.
after put my new case will cover whole bezel, wont see it again...

anyw next yr will change iphone again~

yeah, cause the "S" makes a lot of difference, plus, it's been known from the very start that iPhone 3G's (not iPhone 3GS) are available on the spot.

got my 32gb black from sunway pyramid maxis yesterday

booked with rm200 deposit october 1st night
collected october 3rd noon (they didn't call me, i just walked in after lunch to try my luck and showed my receipt and apparently i was already on the ready list)

2 hours later i sold my iphone 3g white 16gb hahaha. i was expecting to get the 3gs black in november. luckily man

took a ivalue plan 2, strange thing was they never asked me what plan i wanted when i booked. the only asked when i came to collect.

I just responded to ur query on Internet Tethering over on the other thread but just in case; it does still work, at least on mine it does

will go to Maxis KLCC tomorrow. I was booked my IPhoone on 6 Sept and tomorrow will complete 30days waiting period.

Hopefully you get your phone. I booked mine on 7th Sept but will give my luck a try tomorrow anyway.

i just call the maxis Customer service, and he say its possible to get iPhone 3G(Prepaid Plan) in any maxis store

Tomorrow will be my 44th day waiting.. On Tuesday will call and email them claiming for iphone...

Why do you say so? is it based on the reason 32GB more expensive and not many ppl opt for it or you have any reliable news on that? Anyway i book 32GB and is waiting for it...

when i went and book the told me that 16gb need to wait around 30-45 days. as for 32gb i might get it in 3 weeks fastest.. cos not many ppl go for 32gb

Has it ever occur to anyone that Maxis could be creating an artificial shortage of 3GS so that some people would just opt for a 3G instead. This could be one way of clearing their old stocks.

Bcos, you could purchase 3G at RM1990 with a prepaid plan. Immediate stock. No waiting list.

Just my observation.

because "I" think like this. Apple is being presure by Microsoft Zune HD release. So Apple will need to go up 1 notch and also WWDC 2010 is on Febuary. So I dont think they will make it a shortage and thx to that long waiting I may wait 4 the next iphone. Im +ve it will be a great boost compare to iphone 3GS? I dont know that my thinking. if they wanna add in more, they first need to make sure AT&T can cope....

I was at 1 Utama yesterday and I decided to check with the Machines branch there. One of the guys on duty there told us that apparently all Machines canceled booking of the 3GS roughly about 2 weeks after the phone's launching date. This was due to the fact that they were unable to fulfill the requests of their customers who booked from them. He isn't entirely sure when will they sell it again, as in Malaysia it is Maxis that controls the sales. I asked if I should just ask for a refund, and he said that it's recommended, although we could still wait. My dad said that if I am still phone-less (Yes, my phone died roughly 3 months back) by December, he will purchase it outright from Singapore. I hope that some of us who booked around early August like me will get theirs soon and not get entrenched in a situation like mine.

quite true.... but dint u hear AT&T contracts end next year and rumour have been going on about Verizon(dont know how to spell it) so there is a high posibility that there is a refresh next year.

onli thing i can see now is a possible capacity update 16/32 -> 32/64GB

US market pick-up is too slow....don really think major update at early 2010 is possible

In conclusion, I find that the Hotline could actually help you if they choose to. I think some of the people here might have had bad experience with them due to circumstances that they could not control(unresponsive Maxis centers) or customers just call them with guns ablazing and yelling. So please be polite to them, since from what I gathered, they themselves don't have all the information and they have to call the Maxis center to help you(and even then, sometimes they can't get through). State your case to them (if it is reasonable), and just be polite, if they had genuinely tried their best to help you, please don't make life difficult for them.

I hope my information helps you guys to get your IPhone earlier, or at the very least, ontime.



Also, I'd recommend everybody to go to Machines at Gardens, by far, the best and most friendly and helpful customer service I've encountered in any other Machines shop( was there shopping for accessories after I got my IPhone). I'd stay away from the old wing BU one though, as they have this very arrogant "big" guy at that store who talks like he owns the freaking store.

If this is true, it certainly doesn't mirror their aggressive promotion and marketing of the 3Gs going around now. Not to mention giving out school kids the phones.

1) rite now,im a supplementary number frm my dad's. can i use d same number to be use for d ivalue package?

2) if can, can i have other supplementary numbers under me?

3) n, if yes, how do they calculate d billing ar? 155 per number or 155 for all supplementary num?

Can Maxis actually collect our deposit and when they can't deliver, they will just refund as it is? Normally, under any transaction, should such situation arise, the party who failed to honour the agreement will have to also pay some form of compensation, rite?

Or maybe should try lodging a report with the consumer association.

their policy cannot refund is false...they cannot do that...that is aniaya...their policy weird n not suitable for human.

Maxis MEP - Orange at Ampang. A lot of people seems to be getting their phone within 2 to 3 weeks of waiting time.

if your waiting period more then 30days then you can refund your deposit. because in agreement they already mention 30days.

dissapointment. i went to sunway pyramid maxis to check if my phone was ready. told them that someone even booked on a later date than i did but has already got his phone. the told me it's impossible la bla bla bla.. and then they asked me if he was a previous iphone user. cos maxis give privilege to those users that bought iphone 3g from them previously.. this is bullshit in my opinion, if stocks arrive in batch how do they give privilege to previous users and keep on saying that they don't have stock? the phone drop from the sky? then i said "it means u have stock rite" one of the guy told me "no, if got we can give it to u right in a sarcastic way". i so wanted to walk over to the other side of the counter and teach him some manners..

ok here is my story...

book iphone 3gs 16gb black on 2 sep 09(NO CONTRACT), and they said will call when its available, until 2 oct never received and call from them, so i decided to go to them and find out, then say need to wait for 45 days actually.. then i was like OK, already wait for 30 days why not another 15 day.. and today, i just call them to check out if i still need to wait or not..

and they reply me this,

iphone is currently for contract only,

then i reply them, i said i book before you tell me this...

and i decided to go and talk to them on next week,

and yeah, i just sold my current fon for very cheap just to get the iphone 3gs and now they telling me this..

what is this? i believe maybe they got some extra income if ppl sign contract, that is why they doing this?

i am so going to complain about this until i got my iphone 3gs...

U deposit them with RM 200 or not...?
i have same story with U in 3 aug ( maxis centre seberang jaya )...but when i booked no need to pay deposit...at 18 aug i try to visit them n they told me need to pay deposit n no hotlink plan...what i can say --> maxis services is very poor. ( very sad maxis has permit to brought apple devices but they are not professional company )

now i just booked under hotlink plan at 18 sept n deposited 200 bucks at MEP...they tell me i can refund if i want. once again maxis management is very POOR.

ya man~ I've experienced almost the same situation, booked mine at klang aeon mep outlet early last month, till now still haven get it yet.

They keep telling me next week la, next 2 weeks la.. and the staff working there is so rude showing their 'black' face at me as if i owe them money.

Damn it, after i get the iphone i will go and complain them. Really disappointing.

dun look for them, bug maxis directly. MEP will oni put the blame on Maxis say waiting their stock. Bombard them via email

If you are asking which email to send to, just go to Maxis website and click contact us there you can find a form which you can fill up and they will get back to you in 1 or 2 working days

15th september, if u read page 2 or 3, there is a member that booked at 1st oct and got his phone.. at the same place, sunway pyramid maxis centre

Normally maxis will give it to a contract user first as they need it to tie those client. Maxis will earn alot from the contract user for a long term

ehm.. mine booked at mines MEP on 27th August, recieved it on 16th Sept.
im registering for iValue 1 pakej and paid deposit rm200.

Maxis doesn't have a computer queue system to do fair distribution of their subscribers, all they can do is when got their stock, scratching back their list (perhaps in papar based) and trying to call those ppl who booked.

I have seen many irresponsible maxis staff from Maxis BTS where they promise me to submit the port out request but never do until 3 days later i go back to shot them then only they do it.

What i'm trying to say is those are human work, who they decided to give their iphone stock is up to their decision, they could be blurred enough and not notice you book for long while ago and giving away the available stock to somebody who just book.

So just CALL them or give many followup (Not really to scold them) to them so that they remember you. There is always mistake with human being, same thing even a computer has bugs.

hmm i booked mine on the 26th sep at 1utama maxis centre, but on sunday 4th oct morning i got a missed call from a private number, since i dont receive calls alot mayb maxis called me? lol
