even worlwide shortage why maxis still doing big2 f***ing advertisment of iphone...their management on handling the non-whole apple TOTALLY FAIL...

i went to sunway maxis centre and was told to prepare to wait 2 months due to worldwide shortage, which i think it's a big lie by maxis cos i was at thailand last week. i went to mbk shopping centre and saw iphone freely sold by independent mobile phone seller without any contract from 30,000 to 32,000 bath. the best price i manage to find for 32gb hongkong set(unlocked set) is for 30,500 baht (roughly about RM3,150) , US set 30,000 (locked set) baht. almost every mobile phone dealer has ready stock. the only think that held my purchase is the warranty issue but that's not the point. the point is how come even small time phone seller in thailand manage to get it's stock but not maxis.

i just don't understand why priority or more allocation was not given to cellular carriers. isn't is more profitable for apple since they also get a share of revenue from carriers.

i agree buying from apple store is better but it can only be purchased from australian store, still warranty does not apply in malaysia.

I totally agree with you. Had I made a booking 2 weeks ago at KLCC (which was what I had originally intended), I would have had to pay the RM200 and would have been asked to wait 45 days too. I don't know why the discrepancies between centres and it is quite strange! We shall see if I really do get my unit within the next two weeks

If you can find ONE single unit 'not officially unlocked MAXIS sets' from those i sell, i'll be happy to pay rm500k. Willing to take up the challenge?

Finally collected my iPhone 3GS 16GB (Black) from Maxis Gardens this evening! Here is a summary:

Date of booking: 12/12/09 (Saturday)

Total waiting days: 10 days

Deposit: none with no confirmation number

Number of phone calls made to Maxis: none

Number of visit to Maxis Gardens: twice (once to book and once to collect)
So guys, do head down to Maxis Gardens as soon as possible as they have just received new stock for all iPhones. And guys, please try to be nice to the Maxis reps at Gardens as they get alot of unnecessary crap from people!
