wondering where to get an Iphone with prepaid plan and how to get RM 500 discount invitation ?
*
Sales of iPhones with Pre-paid plans are on hold for the time being. However, if you are lucky, you may stumble upon a MEP which offers that.

The RM500 discount invitations were for those who had bought the 3G earlier. The promotion however is no longer available.

Finally went maxis center to collect mine today. Was busy on Sat and dun manage to get it. Btw, mine were OS 3.1. Sad! On the spot the maxis staff help me to update it to 3.1.2..
*
If you are sad because of the jailbreak issue due to the OS3.1, the solution is already in place. Take heart that at least you have the latest batch as opposed to those who got their iPhones with 3.0.

apparently no, since the phone has to address more memory, it is slightly slower wink.gif
*
They were referring to which model, 16 or 32gb, is given to buyers faster!

If you can afford to fork out the moolah, go ahead and give it a try. Then sell it. I think you can still make a 'few ringgit'. At the same time, you would be testing their system and probaly, if you succeed, prove how disorganized they are.

Do report back and let us all in on this, if you really decide to go ahead with it.

i just got to say that maxis is over using their right to sell iphone. They are selling iphone to company like toyota for toyota give out for free. And because of that end user like us who want to get 1 is not able to get 1.THis sucks
*
Don't mean to split hair but isn't Toyota or any other organization end users as well as far as Maxis is concerned?

hi there smile.gif, thank you for the the confirmation i will eventually get an iphone this sunday!

maxis pavilion is inside pavilion like at maxis klcc is inside klcc?
*
Answer to your question is in the affirmative. But mate, since you are quite a distance away, to increase the probability of getting the iPhone, why don't you come down Saturday immediately after work? In that way, the odds are better, just my humble opinion.

so we can't buy iphone 3g without contract now ?, sad.gif

If there is no official advice by Maxis to the contrary, the 3G 8gb should still be available for outright purchase.

Just got a call from MEP taman connaught, they said my iPhone is ready to collect.
I told her I already collected my iPhone at Pavilion, she asked y I will collected there, then i explained to her I hv no point to wait since Pavilion got stock on the spot. But after that the girl told me my rm200 deposit at MEP will not be refund since I collected my iPhone at pavilion.

I said to her, the staff @ Pavilion said that will be refund to me in following months bill. But then she said the rm200 deposit is at MEP there, impossible Maxis at Pavilion able refund to me.
My latest bill on 7 oct - 6nov didn't refund rm200 for me.
Maxis CS not so sure about the deposit also, they answered probably will refund start from next month.

Anyone booked at other places but got their iPhone at Pavilion got the refund in this month bill??
*
It was stated from the beginning that 'collection of pre-orders' is available for those who booked from Maxis, not their MEPs. In your case, not dwelling into who is at fault, perhaps at Pavilion, they thought you were making a new purchase and hence entertained you.

If you did state all the facts there and then, take your case all the way otherwise the chances of losing your RM200 are imminent.

i showed them my deposit receipt b4 i collected my iphone...
*
Then, like I said, take your case all the way. But of course wait until next month to see whether the RM200 is credited in your account which I doubt it will be.

Juz wan to ask, i must open up the box when i collect the iphone? can i remain sealed then just open whenever i want?
*
Just tell them that you will activate the phone yourself and hence not to cut the plastic wrap/seal which will keep the whole box intact.

i called them up today again.. they told me mine is invitation of loyalty member. they will call me within 10working days and collect phone.. is this true? any1 get the invitation?
*
If they tell you that, you would have to accept it as it is. If by the 10th day they don't call you, you can contact them.

how to become loyalty member leh? i use maxis for so long also they tak layan... i ask how come pavilion sell away on the spot... they said promotion collaborate with pavilion and ppl need to spend certain amount of time there oni can get the phone... not sure how true is that...
*
There are many criteria to be a 'loyalty member' and I must add here that it is up to the whims and fancies of Maxis to decide because I don't think they are disclosed to the public.

question!
if say i buy an iphone 3gs from the garage sales, then what about the ownership with maxis? what happens when i need to use the phone's warranty because its spoiled/has a problem and i cant because the phone isnt registered under me? because at the end of the day the iphone is registered under the person's name i bought the phone from right? and i dont think can change ownership.. o_O
*
The hassle free way is, when you purchase the iPhone, tell the original owner that in the event that there is a necessity for warranty claims he must help you present the phone to Maxis. Make sure the Service Card is available as well.

There is actually no ownership to the iPhone, just to the Plan that the original owner signed attaching to the phone.

@`arthas,
That's great to hear.  Speaking of which, what is considered loyal member?  On record, I've been with Maxis since 1996 and I'm a bit dissatisfied I haven't been offered any privileges sad.gif
*
@tink, I have already stated that it is not made known to the public how they select their loyal members. They do it at their whims and fancies. You just have to grunt it out, like the majority of us, that's all.

@friends,
U shouldn't even have mentioned about the internal news if U didn't wanna share, now U gonna be harassed until you give us the information.

Yes I did get 1 measly Blue Form but that's about it.

I was about to voice the same sentiment but knowledge is power and some people just want to show that they are powerful but wait, could it just be pseudo power?

Anyway heard from an owner of an MEP that iphone is not lacking in stock as what Maxis made out to be. In fact, there will be more stocks coming in soon...although he didn't sound very convinced about the plans and the phone itself....makes me think twice about getting one.

Hope this is good news to some ppl....but what plays our in reality may be different as this is a suggestion that Maxis is holding back stock to create interest in the phone when it might be dwindling.....
*
No business entity is silly enough not to release the stock when it is available. Especially not if they want to sustain interest in the product. I personally believe Maxis is adopting the JIT(Just in Time) mode of holding stock. However, either their planning is askewed or they just do not want to over commit, hence the current stock predicament.

Meaning.. outright purchase might happen anytime soon? xD
*
IMHO, no, as there is still some demand for the i3GS and Maxis would still want to ride on this wave and get as many iV plans signed up as possible. There is where they actaully earn the bulk of their money.

Not when you are in a monopoly situation? The conspiracy theorist will argue that Maxis is employing a bit of reverse psychology on the consumer and by creating a waiting list, it helps with the balance sheet as well? No idea, just speculation

However, I think that there is a high probability that their JIT is screwed up.....
*
All the more reason why they do not have to resort to any delaying tactics or psychology of any kind. I believe and dare say quite fervently that I am not too far removed from the fact.

To add on, you can imagine how much RM200 per booking multiply by the number who did book can add up to in their coffer if they only have to pay for the stock 2 months later. That my friends is, I believe, the reason for the consumers having to wait for that duration or thereabouts.

Yours would be a good case to see how any of the parties you addressed your grievance to respond. Please do post any replies from them so that invested individuals in the same situation will know their next course of action.

thats why i said Ma*** is not  worth for us to sign up , somemore the rate also higher compare to other operator...which i plan to sign up my iphone plan for juz 1 year and i will quite using ma*** anymore forever !!!!!

If there is no love lost between you and Maxis, why don't you buy outright the iPhone from an alternative source and don't even need to sign up a contract which you have to pay for in any event.
