Common Kelvin White Balance Settings : 2500K - very strong orange tungsten light 2800K - strong orange tungsten light 3200K - yellowish tungsten light 4500K M6 - flourescent light (most flourescent tubes are green even though our eyes don't see it) 5500K - flash 6500K - daylight (or daylight-balanced flourescent light) 9900K - strong blue stage lighting or evening light
Xenon lighting is rare but that should be between 7000-9000K.
Whenever you enter a new situation that has different WB, just set your Kelvin WB again and test with one shot. You
should be able to do this with practice.
With the Sony A300 and A350, you can use Live View and see the effect of changing Kelvin WB... live!
M = Magenta G = Green 2500K = Blue 9900K = Amber
Take a picture. Supposing the picture is very Green, you need to add the opposite which is Magenta. If the picture is
too Blue you need to go closer to Amber. So if the picture is very blue-green-ish, you will need to go closer to 9900K
M9.
To prevent the built-in flash from appearing in pictures when in wireless flash mode, you can use any of these
methods, or a combination of them:
- use a darker aperture (e.g. F11) - use a lower ISO (e.g. ISO100) - use a shutter speed faster than your flash sync speed so that High Speed Sync is activated (e.g. 1/320th of a
second) - use a piece of exposed, developed negative film in front of your pop-up flash

HSS will be useful when u need to shoot with speed higher than ur flash sync speed. A200 sync speed is 1/60 if not mistaken, which means that is ur max when using ur flash. But with HSS turned on, u can shoot at high speed, say 1/2000 hhaha...
It will be superb useful for outdoor fill-flash. Imagine when the sun is right at the back of ur object. U need to fill flash right? I believe that using 1/60 will overexpose ur pic, so u can either stop down ur aperture or use a ND filter or USE HSS!!!!...meter ur background and say it needs 1/2000, fire ur flash at 1/2000 and u wil have a properly exposed background and object;)

Ooooo... nice info... so, which flash can do HSS with my a200?? other than sony flash la... hehehe...3rd party ones... got?
third party?nissin 866 hahha or metz 58...those high end one la...but sony cheap is dirt cheap (if compare la)so just go for sony...if f20am comes with hss then its pretty worthy (veyr useful when traveling.)
Haha I help you hold la. (: Bagman "7million dollar" FTW! (:
Added on June 4, 2009, 4:32 pmDoubt 3rd party got HSS. Ok ma try hunt for 2nd hand F42 lo. (: About 600+ can get. =p
WAAAAAaaaaaaaaa..... hehehe... that's totaly WAYYYYYY out of my budget... hmm... looks like I'm sticking it with my 430EX till next year then... oh well...
not sure whether i need tripod or not...as i don really bring them out (and i seldom do shooting outside anyway)....currently using the crappy and shaky tripod that come free alone with my a300...and my gorilla pod..
Lol. millenia3000 : get chinabrand tripod la. Less than 50bucks can dy. (:
tak cukup tinggi la... also, i hate that damn pusing2 thing to naik turun the tripod head...
Added on June 4, 2009, 4:41 pmhaaa gorilla pod... almost forgot about the gorilla pod... hey achew does it really stay in the same position after you secure it somewhere?

haaa gorilla pod... almost forgot about the gorilla pod... hey achew does it really stay in the same position after you secure it somewhere?
yes..if u know how to secure it tightly..it wont move a lil bit...but of cos..its not as convenient as the traditional tripod..unless u hav a additional ball head attached..
signither, you can see the bag itself at Pavilion (not sure which floor but it's the same floor as Parkson's toy department I think) and nearer to the Forever21/Carls Jr. side.
Golla also has a shop at Midvalley, I think 2nd floor, South Court, next to the main escalator. Or it could be North Court, not very very sure.

oo ok.. thanks bro..
btw, do you know where can i buy a black & white film??
thx will, cheap tripod can? need tele lens or not? i plan to bring, tripod 1750,falsh n tele...too much?
there, mostly wideangle shots if ur into landscape.. if u got tele, can bring also la... unless urs is 70-200 2.8.. then it wouldnt be that heavy only.. i brought my whole gear there, everything fit into my lowepro + tripod some more..
see if you guys know where this pic appeared in before...

I know... hehehe... saw it in last month's DCM... nice one...
Digicolor, Mutiara Complex, Jalan Ipoh (Lucky, ERA, lots of cheap Superia ASA400) Leos Trading, 1st Floor, Ampang Park (Lucky, Kodak BW400CN, T-MAX) Keat Camera, Jalan Pudu (higher grade black-and-white films. They also sell the full set of black-and-white film developer tools and chemicals)
I've never tried higher grade (read: more expensive) black-and-white films. But I do like Lucky for its glow and my favorite is Kodak BW400CN for its low contrast but rich saturated greys. You can kinda tell what color it is or how brown a skintone is, on the BW400CN... not like amateur digital-to-black-and-white conversions where it's just a lot of black and a lot of white. T-MAX is very contrasty.

when got new post, the yellow notification comes out right? there's a volume icon there, you can click on it to activate it, or click on it to deactivate it.... the notification sounds is like a bell only... but i normally leave the sound off
Kul | Mo0, there is no indication whether the F20 will be able to be triggered off-camera.
It is stated that the F20 on an A900 can trigger other flashes, but there is no indication whether the F20 on an A100-700 can trigger other flashes. So until we have an F20 we don't know for sure.
I saw you guys are discussing camera bag a few pages back/ v26... Im actually looking for an ideal camera bag too... which should allow me to bring my 10" netbook with my A100 + kitlens + 50mm + flash...
All i found are such big backpack which i dont find not useful for me... Just wondering is there anybody who able to use any Crumpler or bagman bag (non backpack) n divide it so that there is a room for netbook...? I find backpack too big & harder to access compare to sling bag/messenger bag.

tanjq87, the Brownie was probably using 127 film (very similiar in form to 120 film). However 127 film doesn't exist anymore as Kodak was the only one who made it in that size. They liked making proprietary film formats.

lol, albert, you're walking camera encyclopedia man....haha I wasn't even sure if it's a medium format, you pulak point out it uses 127 film =.= salute
If I don't use flash, what white balance setting should I use if I have to go back and fourth from tungsten lit area to fluorescent lit area? Sometimes I find the colour under tungsten lit area is too saturated eventhough the saturation level is 0, is it because of the white balance issue?

I just weighed my kata dr467 backpack, gonna go 1-utama later for the asiasoft online game fest
The following is what I put
Bottom camera compartment - middle - Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 - right - Sony Alpha 350 mounted with Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 - left bottom - HVL-F42AM - left top - Sigma 10-20mm F4 to 5.6 without the lens hood
Top compartment - Lenspen - Lenspen coupe and sensorklear - Blower - 3rd party battery grip
Notebook compartment - 14.1 inch notebook - small umbrella
"Grey card" is literally that lor... a card that is grey in color. Usage is for you to take a white balance reading off it so your camera can know what color temperature the lighting is.

Chiggy, I got the same bag... wondering how you fit a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 into the middle compartment
You make big hole in the middle compartment?
err.... it is at the bottom compartment for the cameras that compartment is big and it is divided as what I've mentioned I divided it into 3 parts, left, middle and right then on the left side, I divided into top and bottom
its either you get it right in camera the 1st time (with custom white balance - i bring my own white & grey card which doubles as my bounce card, one side white for diffused bounce, another side silverish grey for reflective bounce - also use it for custom WB-ing in difficult light situations) or you will have to resort to pp..
tanjq87, the quick and lazy (but time-consuming) way is to shoot RAW and fix WB later.
The more tedious way is to make use of the Auto mode, which resets everything each time you use it.
Flourescent light flickers and so it's better you use a fast shutter speed and rely on the flash to light indoors. If not you get a greenish cast which is not consistent unless the shutter speed is slow enough.
Try 18mm F3.5 ISO3200 with drive mode set to burst mode. Fire away in a flourescent-lit room. See what happens?
Anyway, you can then set your camera to M mode with flash, with the WB set for tungsten light (anywhere between 2500-3200K). Now, turn to Auto. Notice how it changes to AWB? Now, turn to M. Notice how it remembers the WB setting earlier!
So that's one quick way to switch between two "profiles".
Alternatively, you could use a tungsten gel, and shoot in flourescent light at tungsten WB (but at a fast shutter speed and dark aperture to kill the flouro flicker) while using tungsten WB for tungsten light also. This doesn't require any switching modes.
hi...which lense is better for a200?..sony SAL70300,or sony SAL50200 or tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6 Di Macro?...thinking of buying zoom lense but dunno which one...

look, let's be realistic SAL55200 is not the 'biggest' zoom lens of choice. but, it's undervalued in certain ways. i would say, it serves you well if you've a narrow pocket. it's good. these are the samples pics from this kit lens.

you can consider sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro since Sony DSLR got SSS . thats the extra advantage, so the lens no need have IS/VR/VC/OS
Er, the SAL70300G is not the same as the SAL75300 (which is the tele kit lens for the A100/A200.)
In order from best to worst:
Sony 70-300mm F4.5-5.6G SSM Sony 55-200mm F4-5.6 DT Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 Sony 75-300mm F4.5-5.6
Note that I reduce the score of the Sigma because it has a plastic geartrain inside, causing it to get the common gear stripping case. The Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG Macro non-HSM is also prone to this.

thanks for your reply, looks like if i dun use flash, the best way is still AWB.. so sometimes if the colours were too saturated, is it because of wrong white balance?
Looks like the street price will be below 2K then..
hopefully... Its RM2199 ATM (ie A330 + 1 lens)... thats ~RM400 more expensive that currect street price of A300 with 1 lense (= RM1800) and ~RM50/- cheaper than A350 with 1 lense (=RM2250).
I wont be rushing to order just to get the early offer. I'll wait a lil bit. Im waiting for the brownie / coco color A330. Im also interested to know more info on the rumoured A5x0.
pssst... amadeo, your siggi is still says the v26 alpha thread...
tanjq87: Yes, oversaturation or 'flat colors' are due to wrong white balance. Don't use AWB on tungsten, it's baaad. I'd still suggest Auto with AWB for flourescent and quickly switch to P/A with tungsten WB for tungsten.
Banzai_san: The A300 originally sold for RM2499 retail with single kit lens if I remember correctly.

oh ya stupid me, didn't think of this method..can switch mode quickly! thanks again..
erm wanna ask that ... I heard because the noisy feedback for the lenses, Sony have produced the new AF build in lenses together out with the timeline of A330,380 rite?
Any difference between AF built in and normal, i mean the performance not the noisy ? Like the new SAL55200 AF Built in and normal SAL55200 ? =/ feel curious about that
why suddenly i see so many KK peeps.. btw..why r u so active in Alpha thread? Alpha poison in you now?
active ? because EOS thread slow mah... plus I poor student, don't have lens to buy... haih... kit lens, what else ? not like Sony, in-body IS + what lens also have "IS"

banzai san , you live in kk ? you using what body ?
yap... living in KK ATM no body... just drooling over the guys here's Sony gears... I plan to get myself my first DSLR hopefully this very near future and Ive shortlisted A330 brownie Im also interested to hear more info on the rumoured A5x0, their specs, price etc.

thx bro i don't use any flash and it was taken at sushi king with kinda low lighting. the picture is supposedly a bit underexposed and shaky but i managed to fix it a bit using photoshop.
btw, she's just looking at the ceiling i guess

jimlim007: I would strongly not recommend that Bower flash. It appears to be a rebadge of the Vivitar DF400MZ... which I saw at a TT just the other day. It hanged when one guy showed it to me! He says it hanged the other time when he wanted to use it for a job. Anyway, the price is too high for a risky flash - better to get a Sony F36 (cheapest) or F42.
today attended my gf's fren wedding in perak...the OPs using 2 a300 and one nikon d60...best part is 2 OPs are girls...one using a300 and the other one using nikon...1st time seeing girls as the OPs at wedding...
haha during my cousing wedding, the OP (boy..damn) was using d60 too with kit lens!! and nissin di622... I was not into DSLR yet that time, but i saw the photos that i took using my PnS...
Hmm, OP use entry dslr? I thought every OP like pros must use at least those intermediate dslr one? BTW, like to see that Sony is getting more popular
like my fren once said,no matter what camera u use,the end result does the talking....

The 1 holding the camera was my friend who don't know how to use 1. Hahaha.

how much u bought it for?? can fit how many gears??
I bought it for MYR379 from KLCC Crumpler. If arranged properly, it could fit at least 1 body with kitlens attached. and 4 more compartment for flash and lenses. Also accessories like batteries, water bottle, and etc can also be fit inside.
k guys, i was at mid valley, and i spotted this cheap version of the joby gorillapod... the sales rep offered it to me for RM55... now i was curious and went on to ask her how much weight could it withstand... she wasn't sure, but she was damn sure that dslr users have bought it from her before... anyone know about this "cheap" gorillapod?

some cheapo (imitation) can handle as heavy as the ori gorillapod DSLR zoom. I tot of getting one too! Which shop? I was at mid valley yesterday;)
jimlim007, flashes generally maintain price unless they are second-hand or discontinued.
ya, just check some one sell price, its maintain btw, anyone wish to sell the flash, pls pm me
and one question, i notice no matter how i snap the photo with my a300 with kit lens or km 50mm, at 100% view, the picture become rough (rough + blur); this is due to skill of shooting or the camare and lens limit itself? if due to skill, how i can shoot a photo with 100% view but still super sharp? thank in advance!

sounds to me like handshake or noise....
try shooting with lowest iso and a tripod...if ur picture is still noisy and blur then something is wrong...

I wonder how did you manage to grab the rich blues in your picture? Did you alter the color temperature?
thx guys for the compliments. FYI, there was no editing what so ever been done to the snap.It was the original snap.
here is the exiff data for the snap
Exposure: 0.033 sec (1/30) Aperture: f/4.5 Focal Length: 11 mm ISO Speed: 800 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: Off White Balance: Tungsten
the story behind the snap was, I'm on my way going to the bus stand in front of the KLCC, after a day of street shooting. Once i walked out front the KLCC, I looked up and damn, the view of the 2 building and the lighting was so magnificent. I stopped, get my A700 and uwa and shoot!
how i get the rich blue? While i'm inside KLCC, i set my WB to tungsten and when i walked out from KLCC, i forgot to changed it...I just snap ! but...it came out beautifully!

I hope you're not pixel peeping. If you blow up a pic too much, it WILL pixelate no matter what cam you use.
How about you give us a sample shot and we can see what the problem is.

pixel peeping? are you mean over zooming a picture >100%? i am currently to setup the pic, later will know the result. coating the car mirror. later will drop some water on it and snap the photo. my previous shot in this scenario shows me the pic is not sharp when see at 100%, so, major of my picture can be perform 100% crop
will post soon...

most, if not all cameras will not give a 100% sharp image for certain, that is due to an anti aliasing filter (digital/physical) to reduce/remove aliasing artifacts in an image, a good anti aliasing filter will show least amount of softening of an image, but does not remove all softening.. so in another words, even the highest end digital camera will give you the same result if u zoom way in at 100%
jimlim007: I would strongly not recommend that Bower flash. It appears to be a rebadge of the Vivitar DF400MZ... which I saw at a TT just the other day. It hanged when one guy showed it to me! He says it hanged the other time when he wanted to use it for a job. Anyway, the price is too high for a risky flash - better to get a Sony F36 (cheapest) or F42.
how come the Bower flash's body looks somewhat like Falcon Eyes flash??
please tell me that Falcon Eyes are more reliable than Bower flashes... or any comments from someone who's using it now or before...
I'm choosing Falcon Eyes DPT386-AFZ from the HVL-F42AM coz of the swiveling head... was that the right move??
haven't bought yet... but any advices?? before I do buy it??
IT CAN???? I thought It cant?! dang.. well.. nvm lah... keep the HVL-F42AM for my next purchase lah... hehehe... getting the Falcon Eyes for now... cheaper too... hehehe... thanks for the info bro...
Braynumb, the Falcon Eyes DPT386-AFZ is the same thing as the Vivitar DF400MZ and the Bower flash.
The F36 is the only flash that cannot turn left and right. The F42 can turn left and right like a human head does when looking left and right. The F58 tilts sideways like a human does when reading a sideways emoticon.

got it bro, eh shootkk.... u say a bit like dat oso enough to cause splash poison to others la hehehe.... after a while using f58 im already wishing i have an f42 to teman this fella...

i haf the non-APO version.... not really that good at end of tele zoom... softness issue... but quite fun to play with macro 1:2... as the price is very cheap for a tele lens + macro... for learning purposes i can say grab it la... but if got deeper pocket.. dont buy!!

I like the second picture. In fact I find the defocused grass a rather unique signature of the picture. Seperating it from the typicals. That's purely my opinion though. Nevertheless, great shots you've there!
some cheapo (imitation) can handle as heavy as the ori gorillapod DSLR zoom. I tot of getting one too! Which shop? I was at mid valley yesterday;)
i tried(open n play with it) some imitations b4 i bought my joby version...imo...the cheap version might b able to tahan as heavy as orig one...but do note the rubber legs/joints might not b able to 'suck' on the surface as good as joby version...try to touch orig one and imitation one u'll get wad i mean...
but again..there r too many imitation g.pod on the market....the one i tried might b one of the bad one...
done on the experiment, look like the sharpness was improve so much by using tripod and timer 2sec. with small or big aperture, it not much impact on aperture.
i am starting suspect that may due to OOF or shaking hand caused this sharpness issue in 100% crop. wonder how are you guy shooting photo that can have 100% sharpness when in 100% crop if shoot in event and carry a tripod, i guess just done on setup tripod and havent press on the shutter, all ppl already done all and move on
please help to verify the pictures, does these photos look in 100% view have the so call good sharpness? TQ!!!
one best fit view picture & one 100% cropped picture

jimlim007 : Wah! If I sell my F42 how will I poison other people to have 2 flashes? Sorry bro, my F42 is not for sale.
As for your pic, no wonder lar you say not sharp! If that's the place where you focussed on, then the camera also confused on where to place the focus point exactly. There's the heater lines all across the glass and there, the card behind the glass and water droplets on it's surface and it's translucent... all make for very confusing focussing.
Contrast also low so it's no surprise your pic did not come out as sharp as it could be. I'm sure if you could find more contrasty focus points, your pic will be just fine.

like that need to shoot on other thing wish to buy a used f42 flash for dummy user like me you can have 2 F58
Set ur camera to focus priority mode so that it will only allow you to shoot after focus has been locked.
As long as its in focused and u did not move much, the pic shud be sharp adi...try shooting at higher shutter speed. whatlens are u using? 18-70? try shooting at least 1/60 at 18mm f/3.5

I don't need 2 F58. Not right now at least. Plus I like the combi of one F42 and one F58 so that I can get the LCLY Canikon gearhead users to STFU when I say i can get 2 Sony flashes for the price of one of their SB-900 or 580-EX II and get to play around with wireless flash!!!
Holy cow. Slept from last night 10pm til about 1pm just now and lied down on bed till few minutes back. No more fever. But my back is like all aching. LOL. Anyway so the immitation gorrilapod can also be trusted besides the rubbery feet only la?

to me the ability to grap is pretty impt...usually i hang it on railing...tree branch..blablabla...so if it cant grap...den ur camera would fall anytime(at least crappy tripod wont collapse by itself without wind*usually*..)
but if u only need something to stand still..no need to do some fancy stunts...den probably don need to get a orig one...
Yea I just totally need a small tripod to take small stuffs. So will most likely will get the fake wan. Millenia3000, which shop you went to ar? Opposite Crumpler KLCC?

already in focus priority, using kitlens and km 50mm. in future will the the photo and straight inspect the picture sharpness instantly. and try to improve on the skill to get 100% sharp pic
what do u usually shoot? if static object shouldnt be a problem and u have SSS isnt it ...
i think most of time is moving object kut, eg: that day just go fren wedding shoot photo, ppl is walking and camera man like crazy snap the photo... ended up many OOF
u bought it? nice...how is it compare to the old 1?
I didn't bought it. lol I didn't even know how much it was retailing at. But I do have the chance to play with it everyday.
So far, compared to the a300, I like this one better. This one has a better grip and IMO, it's smaller and probably lighter than the a300. The menu can choose colour also now. Default menu color is pink. Of coz you can change it to brown, orange and another one I've forgotten edi.
There are less buttons now since the burst shot button is integrated with the timer button. Those who changed to this from a300/350 will accidentally turn the machine off since the previous place which holds the place to adjust the ISO is now an ON/OFF switch. The ISO is positioned lower, as seen in this pic.
Oh, and this supports remote function.

@lehtung...how is kata dr467? Is it kind of big and ugly?
its big, look quite nice me, and got a lot of "belt" to "tie" the bag on u like a parachute.. only thing is that the big lower compartment will look a bit like mengandung, haha ..
how is the SAM motor? looks like the lens has better build now..lol.
supports SD now..good..
I only got the chance to test it with the 1855 lens. And not that PRO in detecting the smoothness of the SAM motor yet.
and yes, it supports either SD or Memory Stick Duo now. Can't use both as storage media. There's a switch to choose either SD or M2 as the preferred storage media. And there's HDMI out too.

AlphaBeta: Actually, CF for the win. That's why it's still the format of choice for the bigger dSLRs. Of course, some things had to go in the name of size.
V12Kompressor: Ah cool. Though not sure what you mean by the ISO thing and the burst/timer thing has always been in the same Drive button I think. The front dial looks a lot more substantial!
I prefer SD card more because no need card reader/ cable to transfer my pictures. I just slip the SD card into my laptop built-in card reader and transfer pictures... I heard there are some goods about CF cards like the max bits info thing..but i dont find SD cards wosrse than CF cards by alot.

do you think the A300 with battery grip can fit into the compartment? Coz im planning to get 1 for my d90..
definitely can, there's a lot of space.. i put my camera in the middle compartment lens facing down, and its so empty cause i only have my kitlens and SAL 55200..

yea i am just estimating when i have my 18200 on my d90.. later not enough space..wasted only haha... Wht is the depth of the camera compartment? sry for asking too much questions...
Ok! Earlier someone asked for some shots done with 2 flashes. I did not set out specifically to do a shoot using 2 flashes to light but here are some quick and dirty test and/or fun shots done with 2 flashes to show you what you can do with 2 flashes:
1. Quick and dirty test/demo done to show how you can light with 2 flashes
Without flash - killed off ambient a bit
Flash diffused with umbrella on camera left
Flash bare on camera right
Combined 2 flashes result
I did not balance for the ambient with the flash and also did not bother too much about the flash power settings but you get the idea, right?
2. Another example of 2 flashes - both not diffused
3. Yet another example
4. And should you want to be a bit on the crazy side you can do something like this: You can see my f58 in the background firing at the cam!
5. And a failed 3 flash attempt. One flash on each side of model and one at the back. All on the floor - not the best place for a flash but I did not have any stand nor people to hold them at the moment. I think the one behind either did not fire or was aimed wrongly...
What: TT session with ryzan76 When: 8pm, 9th June 2009 Where: Starbucks on first floor of Berjaya Times Square (below Sony Style) and also, Sony Style!
One of the objectives is to go to Sony Style to check out the new Sony Alpha 330. It should've arrived Times Square today already so we should be able to see it tomorrow!

nikkor 18200 is 9.7cm and my d90 body is 6.5cm so it is 16.2cm in total..can fit ar?

i tried olympus E620 that day....so so so so small..i`m so not used to the size of the cam...
i would like to have a light weight cam too but provided the lens has to be light!!! ehhe...but then the size cannot be too small as it will be quite tough for big hands like me:) (not really big la)..
nonetheless, very excited to check out the new alpha.....
TT this saturday at curve anyone? lets crash sony centre haha
Alpha330 is light weight but not too small in size. But it's still smaller than Alpha200,300,350,700,900 if i'm not mistaken. I also quite interested to see how is Alpha330 look like. Maybe I going to SS time square to check it out at Thursday

16.5cm can fit.. i can put my beercan(500ml heineken not minolta ) into the camera compartment.. and i also tried to put in my camera+55200+hood, still can close and zip it.. but can see the camera body in the upper compartment la..

GO for pendrive if buy Online(www.pendrive.com.my) 4GB rm 49, 16GB rm119(if buy at lowyat plaza around rm140-160) both has transfer rate 40mb/s only 5mb/s lower than ducati
i'm using Pendrive 4GB
i checked the website 4GB is RM99 and 8GB is RM169 that price better get SANDISK i think
btw, just got my self 2x8GB Kingston Elite Pro dont know the performace yet though but price is worth trying
This post has been edited by v1rtual: Jun 9 2009, 02:14 PM
but for such a big company mistyped is quite impossible i think but logic is not right la because even the flash disk is higher price comparing to kingston product
Sp00kY: btw, what camera are you using yah? using 16GB on A350 is okay? because i feel 8Gb on my A350 is a little slow already dont know the card is slow or the cam is the cause
This post has been edited by v1rtual: Jun 9 2009, 03:16 PM
Cannot be mistake woh..i emailed pendrive about it and now they told me that they just increased it. but then RM249 for 16gb 40mb is still pretty cheap la hahha..pretec 8gb also RM100 for 233X (~40mb)

seriously i love this shot dude...the color/compo is jsut awesome..
grip... i cant go swing it around as they removed the top part a bit... but it does feel like gripping to my fingers.. almost the same feeling as my grip...
battery grip... i dont think so haf any la...
buttons?? kinda tricky a bit... but i guess all is there.. somewhere..
pop-up flash access only at Fn 4-way navigation button
SAM kitlens kinda better.. i believe is faster than 1870 kitlens... not really that silent focusing la..
color menu?? pink default factory setting = their target are...??? lucky dat can change to black/white/brown
shutter sound is a lil quieter than mine... alberto record movie for this.. just wait la...

somehow the cam looks big! ahha, isit because of the cam is small and the lens is big?
camera bit small... lol.... thus the weight difference~

haha! yea ryzan i enjoyed the TT last night too, thanks ryzan for sharing ur knowledge!... it was nice meeting all ya guys again, all friendly and accomodating as always!.... i was even entertained by the sekinchan dude who uses Adobe Lightbox!
in my opinion la, i think Sony just wants to get everyone into dslrs first, let them get hungry for better specs, lenses and accesories, and then only introduce damn kau good models...
spooky, sorry din check the price for the CF card la... i reached berjaya times square ngam2 at 8.. and dei, the A330 is small la!! not only the pop up flash must be accessed through the Fn menu/button even choosing(....in my lame explanation) the focus point thingy? can't use the directional keys edi... have to access thru the AF submenu in the Fn Menu...
i'd also like to point out that the directional keys in the A330 is so much like a PnS camera... which can be off-putting to some la...
i agree with dingenius, the 18-55mm f3.5 SAM is much faster than the 1870 la... but it is still not very silent la...
the camera is light, i think it's a good option for one who like to travel light la, with the lens detached, the body can easily fit into a handbag i think

wah, focus points have to be chosen IN menu? i use to do it on the fly with my eyes stuck to the OVF leh... if thats the case, its a definite downgrade d..
Sp00kY - the 135mm lens is way heavier than the camera... how to put at tripod??
lwliam - i think sony must have their own market target for these new models la.. female pns photogs to dslr~ where they dun wanna know much bout dslr just wanna camwhore shoot around = can change lens

absolutely agree wit u bro... while shooting time u'll nvr know when ya wanna switch focus points... that time, wanna access menu meh!? can see clearly la they want the users to use live view more...
From the looks of it, I guess it's true that Sony is aiming the A230, A330 & A380 at really noobs PnS users.
Cannot set Kelvin WB??!! Cannot quickly choose AF points??!! Darn!
The rumors may be true after all - The A2xx and A3xx is aimed at PnS users while those who are a bit more serious should be looking at the rumoured A5xx series deemed to be the TRUE replacement for the A100. This range will now compete against the D90 range of DLSRs.
The A700 will have a replacement soon and will now compete at a higher price point against the D300 and 50D range of DSLRs. Those of you hoping to get a A700 on the cheap had better get it now before stock runs out!
Which means bad news for me. Sony will not be releasing any budget FF camera this year. Counting the A230,A330,A380 and A500 and A550 PLUS the A700 replacement, Sony will be introducing 6 bodies this year. That's a lot!!
I might even say that the A700 replacement may only be due next year! So the best chance of a budget FF will be end of next year!! But looking on the bright side I can have longer time to save up ler...
absolutely agree wit u bro... while shooting time u'll nvr know when ya wanna switch focus points... that time, wanna access menu meh!? can see clearly la they want the users to use live view more...
something like canon? hmm.need to check that out then:) i hope its not choosing a menu in the fn button to select focus point

even if use LV also, still need to access Fn to select focus points? i can expect pretty much slower operation times for those using these 3 models..

yeap... stupid rite... but its ok i think la when using Lv cos ur alrady looking at the screen... if usin ovf then u gotta look back at screen, set set set, back to ovf, kalau tak ngam, look back at screen, set set set, back to ovf, then shoot! *sigh*
