alooo guys..wanna ask.. now new a700 what price ar? and is it body only or got kit?
*
Body only u should be able to get between $3200 ~ $3250 in Sg. Wang shops like Cam world. Studio Zaloon in Pudu plaza is selling at $3250 if i remember correctly. Buy accessories from him and nego further at your own ability. But the problem is finding a place with stock. Zaloon's Uncle Chin told me he couldn't secure enough stock from Sony when i went there about 3 week ago. So you may need to shop around.

is it correct to say that the new 50mm 1.8 will give a wider view on APSC body compare to 50mm 1.7 or 50mm 1.4 on a APSC body?

As in the fact that it is a DT lens. This could contribute to the fact that the bokeh seems better and maybe it will not produce as much flaring and/or CA compared to the Minolta F/1.7

Wouldn't know until someone fully tests it out and do a proper comparison.

thanks. don't use prime much but the price is tempting sweat.gif

my recommendation:

Minolta 70-210mm f3.5 ~ 4.5. Should be between RM400 to RM450. I used this previously to shoot sports, F1, bikes and it was superb for it's price. Cheaper, lighter and smaller than the beercan. Or get the Sony 55-200mm. Similar price range and newer lens.

jacky: buy from sony style, usually the price is follow the official pricing, meaning no or very little discount. I think there is a Maybank Sony credit card that allows you to get 24 months installment. Buy at normal dealer, u can negotiate to the best of your ability and their price is always lower than Sony Style. As for installment plan, that depends on what credit card the shop is using for easy pay plan. They do however charge you an additional 2% ~ 5% when you decides to pay using credit card or easy pay.

The trick is to nego kaw kaw and insist you are paying cash. When you're satisfied with the offered price, then ask them how much they charge if using credit card. Works every time thumbup.gif Not happy, just walk away.

Warranty is standard 12 months. Register online at MySony website and u'll get extra 6 months warranty FOC.

As for where to buy, go to Sg. Wang, BB Plaza and Low Yatt Plaza. The popular places are Tarita, Cam World, Boeing, Foto Edar and many other smaller ones. Still not happy, there's Sony Style in Low Yat Plaza and also Berjaya Times Square.

all camera is a good camera.
it's up to you to produce a good picture.

It's also OK if all you have is a PNS.
An expensive DSLR is only as good as the person pressing the shutter

So go out there and try all the nikon, canon, olympus, pentax, sony and whatever brand there is based on your budget.
