I got it out of a roasting book. It's suppose to be a mushroom roast.

Attached Image

If you follow the recipe exactly, it's 715 calorie per slice. I change some of the ingredients :

-1 teaspoon olive oil to stir-fry the veggie
-mushrooms, i use the Enoki type.
-brazil nuts, i swapped with normal peanuts.
-used low-fat cheddar
-didn't put in any parmesan
-used 2 slices of wholemeal bread

With the changes above, the calorie per slice got half to about 485 calorie each, according to calorie counter on NuritionData.com .

Added on April 29, 2009, 10:39 pmOK, how does it taste like? My Granny says it's like a cake but a bit more nutty and not sweet at all. It's kinda savory, like a savory bread.

myremi,
485kcal each is still madness smile.gif That's like a plate of nasi lemak.

to all,
I was defeated on the treadmill today. My quads and calves are still sore from yesterday's long run and couldnt even tahan 10 mins of slow jog. I compensated by doing rows, assisted pullups, pulldowns and preacher curls. If my lower body's giving up, the upper body will take ovah!

To be frank, I'm nervous. I'm gonna hv to up the cardio to at least 5miles (8km) every morning from next week. Scale is getting easier to resist cause I'm scared as heck to be disappointed after all I've done. My recovery rate is getting better with Xtend, but not as good as I wanted. Maybe I need to bump up my calories a bit. Currently hovering at 1400 - will try 2000 on workout days and 1400 on rest days instead.

I know. wink.gif Next time round, putting in more veggie and less cheese. Or swap it out completely to yogurt cheese instead which has lowest calorie count an dhalf the portion.

Nasi Lemak may be more. It's the sambal that is lethal.

Added on April 30, 2009, 12:14 amThe other thing is that I cut half the slice. The person eating this the most is my Granny atm. She loves it. Haha!

3 things 1 is stamina secondly the core muscles around your abdomen which isnt strong enough 3 is your lung capacity smile.gif

pushing further will only aggravate it further, I'd suggest set your treadmill on a slight elevation maybe at a level 2 or 3 set the speed at 6km/h and try running

on the other hand morning fatso's

today is Badminton followed by weights day, still not weighed myself biggrin.gif

yes. running longer involves endurance n strong leg. one of the biggest mistake that newbie runner make is to run too fast. build distance first (say, 3km). get there by fast walking or slow jog - then improve ur speed from there. if you think 7.5km/h is too uncomfortably slow then up it to 8 or 8.5. Maintain that speed.

am resting today thats why yesterday plan to workout like mad. i think i dont eat enough and i lack sleep so am gonna correct that in my 6 days holiday - muahahaha.

mebbe try to bump up ur weights intensity a bit. i just learned that in order to lose weight by doing weights is to keep that heart rate up as if you're doing cardio. invest on a heart rate monitor and try to do it this way :

warmup cardio -> high reps weight (e.g pulldowns for 1 minute - around 50 reps!) -> high reps weight @ another machine -> heart rate will drop so hop on a cardio machine for 3 minutes to raise it up -> continue with weights

Okie dokie. I think you can substitute the cheese with chopped broccoli and cauliflower. Just cook them before hand. Or put in more mushroom.

As for the nuts, you can change them or remove them. I think they are contributing a lot to the calories, other than the cheese. I put in cashew nuts so that it beecomes more flavourful but I used unsalted ones.

One thing though, you may need to mix all the ingredients in a very big mixing bowl (I was using a 20-25 cm diameter one) or a very big pot. Then, when I stuff everything into the 1 lb loaf tin, it only filled up about half. Haha!
