QUOTE myremi,Apr 24 2009, 12:57 PM] my source of carb are from veges and apple. shouldn't be too bad i think With low carb, it's pretty easy. Just drop out the starchy foods. But bear in mind that you can't go without some carbs at least. If there's not enough carbs for workouts, you may find that the body is switching to muscle breakdown into fat for energy if you're not careful. As long as you don't exceed the recommended period by the diet, then it's fine. With the short period of time, you may have to do some food preparation during the weekend then. I usually try to cook 2-3 dishes over the weekend that can spread the remaining days. I freeze them if I need to. Example is roasted meat or soup. I just discovered the simplicity of steaming food yesterday and the awful lesson that steam food needs to be removed from the steamer, even if the fire is off else the food becomes overcook. Steaming takes about 10-15 min and you can do multiple ingredient steaming at once. That was the interesting bit. Learnt that from the Japanese diet rules. I am renting a room and only light cooking is allowed. hence, soup n steam stuffs. QUOTE(tengster @ Apr 24 2009, 01:26 PM) You aint gonna date the fish for Friday dinner, rite. Who cares the eys pop up? Eyes turn whitish and popped out signified that they are cooked...... what fish......ikan bawal putih, pomfret, cod, garoupa, etc....steam one is good....dont put to much salt or oyster sauce.....will kill the fish taste...and add sodium level...keep it simple stupid....but yet taste splendid........ |

QUOTE(myremi @ Apr 29 2009, 10:38 PM) With the changes above, the calorie per slice got half to about 485 calorie each, according to calorie counter on NuritionData.com . QUOTE(Syd G @ Apr 29 2009, 11:00 PM) to all, y not giving urself a rest day today? I was defeated on the treadmill today. My quads and calves are still sore from yesterday's long run and couldnt even tahan 10 mins of slow jog. I compensated by doing rows, assisted pullups, pulldowns and preacher curls. If my lower body's giving up, the upper body will take ovah! To be frank, I'm nervous. I'm gonna hv to up the cardio to at least 5miles (8km) every morning from next week. Scale is getting easier to resist cause I'm scared as heck to be disappointed after all I've done. My recovery rate is getting better with Xtend, but not as good as I wanted. Maybe I need to bump up my calories a bit. Currently hovering at 1400 - will try 2000 on workout days and 1400 on rest days instead. lol...me too...i am staying away from the scale too to avoid dissapointment.... Have been on low carb for 10 days...but i somehow think that the result is not so visible yet...less than what i expect... and i realise that nowadays, it's a bit tough for me to maintain caloric deficit above 500 - 600kcal... Workouts up to date : Mon - WT Tue - 20 mins cross ramp + 1 hour Step class Wed - WT + 25 mins cross ramp tmr would be rest day ! QUOTE(myremi @ Apr 30 2009, 12:07 AM) Added on April 30, 2009, 12:14 amThe other thing is that I cut half the slice. The person eating this the most is my Granny atm. She loves it. Haha! |

hey guys,
I actually weighed & measured myself today...using calipers to keep track of BF....the measurement was done by my trainer.... am happy, happy, happy.... I lost ~4% of BF, which equal to abt 3kg of fats and LBM has increased by 2.8kg. So, I am gaining some muscles too. |

QUOTE(tengster @ May 17 2009, 03:37 PM) I managed to lose 2kg but the porblem is I only lost about 0.5% BF........I am kind of wondering WHY? I did train harder than before the challenge. Perhaps I have reached the plateau. This morning, I was still training in blardeeeeee disbelief running in my mind....... 0.5% BF equals to how many kgs of BF? I think I am going to be meaner this coming weeks or so.........gonna trash myself real bad for the failure. You train harder than before? trainer harder in weight or cardio? I do not know....my trainer actually discourage me from doing cardio....erm...maybe 45 mins the most (but i just love step classes too much! too much cardio is actually bad for the body...it cause the body to build up stress hormones and hence difficult to lose fat. QUOTE(myremi @ May 17 2009, 04:57 PM) For those who didn't quite made it through the 30 day fast, it's a good time to do some reflection and some detailed screening of what we did wrong. Signing up for gym is a good start, imo. I just can't workout at home. Sort of lack of motivation. Me was lack of exercise and lack of food control. Have put on 3 kg which I now have to lose and more to make up for the extra bits! 1. Ate out too much of not exactly good choices, even if they were roasted. Going to eat home from now on. Starting today with homemade luicha (veggie mix) with a bit of rice mix. 2. More regular exercise. Going to go around shopping for a gym and pick one and see what happens. 3. Go back to daily weigh-ins or intervals of 1-2 days weigh-ins. I need to get obsessive about this so that I freak out and stick to 1. and 2. For the others, really scrutinize what went wrong and solutions to fix it. Syd G, when do we want to start the next one? And alcohol is quite bad for the body. QUOTE(redninja @ May 17 2009, 06:53 PM) Lost 1.5 kg. Off from goal by 0.5 kg. Will be more diligent with next challenge. how long is ur cardio session? The problems I faced - not working out enough especially cardio - weekend (friday night to sunday evening) diet horrible - baking too much! almost every weekend except last two. give away most of it but still have to taste test and eat 1 or 2. - getting sick too often Although I achieved my target My problems: 1) Cheat meals over the weekends for the past 3 weeks. Buffets, etc. 2) Only 1 carb meal allowed on weekends but i had more than 1 carb meals. |
