Oh errm.... is it the pale beige slices that are chicken ham things?

Those things are generally cook but have a lot of salt and preservatives in them. Some of the preservatives are possible carcinogens, I think. It was either nitrates or borates. That's why I try not to eat too much ham.

I'm using a bit in my bento sets as trying to clear up the freezer of them. Most of them have been used up already but I still have a few rashers of bacon to get rid of.

If you guys wanna do a simple chicken fillet :
-use a meat tenderizer (http://www.zesco.com/pImages/093/093-D-189.jpg) and pound the chicken breast a bit thinner.
-cut out the size that you want. you can cook more and freeze the extras using the plastic wrap.
-you can either grill it, bake it or steam it.
-seasonings are strips of ginger. for chinese taste, use 5-spice powder. Or, 1 teaspoon Worcester Sauce + 1 soy sauce, combine. Or, rub sesame oil after steaming and chill it into the fridge overnight. Then next morning put it into your sandwich. Or mirin sauce + balsamic vinegar.

yeah, it looks like ham but relatively larger, about the size of a bread.
and i thought it was good because there are no oils but i need the meat for protein..

Err...anything that is ham or ham-like will have fat in it.

You can't avoid oils completely when eating meat but you can minimize it but removing the chicken fat or selecting lean meat cuts.

What I do is plan for long-term cooking during the weekend. Then, cut into one meal portion, freeze it in plastic bags or container. Reheat on the nite of the meal.

Yeah, just finish them and factor in the fact that they are fatty.

I tend to measure my oil intake now so that I don't overshoot. Stir-fries are usually 1 teaspoon but if it's more than one stirfry dish, I reduce it.

With ham, my Granny has always advocated to cook it rather than just eat it uncook. Never know what is still around and we also wash it a bit with water only, to see if we can get out some of the salts.

Day 12 over and Day 13 now, is it? Hmm...and even though weighing scale didn't budge, pants are getting smaller though. 2 weeks ago, pants bit tight around thighs. Now, very loose!

Careful with that kind of phrase. The way the Emperor of China ate, is not necessarily the tasty food we're taking now. His fare tended to be extremely healthy i.e. similar to the way of Taoism eating or something like the Macrobiotics way of eating. Yes, still have meat fried, grilled and all but he also went to the other extreme lah.

Eat like beggar = you want malnutrition ah. tongue.gif

the phrase is still pretty much applicable. good way of ensuring your day metabolism rate is high enough to carry out the entire day......not going too macro but must ensure adequate carb, protein and fat in the equation......((good fat))....

but then, end of the day....for weight maangement, it's still calory deficit that matters the most. The above phrase could tweak you to a better platform.

maybe you dont have enough energy (derived from carb) to sustain the HIIT?
