Dear Low Yatters,

I know many Malaysians out there are facing with certain hair loss problems. I was once a sufferer of hair loss since i was 19 years old. My father is bald and so are my uncles..so I think fate will surely come to me..I went through treatment from all those 'local' speciallist shops that are found in the newspapers..(I don't want to mention names here). The 'hair expert' told me that she cannot promised me a full recovery but can only maintain my hairline.

For that promise, she expects me to pay RM 10k for no guarantee!. Of course she can't guarantee me..no one can..but i was desperate so I paid. Nope, didn't work..10k down the drain (can buy Sony Viao Laptop for that money) The only way you can survive hair loss is that you help yourself. I have done tonnes of research to help myself and now it's working. So I want to share this information with you. (You can buy me a drink if it works for you)

It takes more effort than just Propecia and Rogaine and yes, I am still using both of them. But you need to change your diet and lifestyle as well as taking certain supplements that contains BIOTIN (Vitamin B Group). B Vitamins are very good source of energy for your hair. If you change and adjust your lifestyle a bit (I still go clubbing) you can really stop hair loss. Also don't expect your hair to grow back in 3 months, if you have serious hair loss, it will take months and years for recovery..

When i had hair loss, it was a total confidence meltdown for me, very (SUSAH) even when i go out everyone was looking at my head. Even want to court girl also cannot. But now after 10 years of research and looking for the right solution, i've cured my hair loss and got the girl of my dreams!. No one is looking at my hair now!! my hair getting thinner last time, i have no idea, i am 21 now... i used to eat vitamin B...but i didnt see any progress which means my hair still fall like you said so i stop... my aunt told me cut my hair cuz maybe due to the long hair that make the hair fall...but i didnt cut it, after a year. my hair is longer than before lol and i see that my hair dont fall that much ( it still falls everytime you comb it wash your hair )...

xtine it's normal to lose 50 - 100 hairs daily so it's normal..btw are you girl or guy? If you are a girl then it's unlikely you got pattern baldness so young...

i also got male pattern baldness. since i think it is irreversible, i try to find solution through hairstyle.

T+1, male pattern baldness is reversible..if you use hair styles..it will only last for years till all your hair falls out. If you can afford it and have patience..i can suggest a few products for you to stop hair loss..provided your stage of pattern baldness is still early. Let me know if you are interested.

currently, i am a user of Nioxin System 1.. i bought their shampoo and scalp treatment as well.
However, i just use their shampoo as i feel it's quite troublesome to apply the scalp treatment. The worst is that, everytime i use the scalp treatment, there's too many hairs fall as compared to normal hair conditioner.

btw, i'm having baldness at the front part of hair (left hand side of my forehead), quite obvious especially when i tied up my hair..

Is Nioxin not suit me? shud i change to Nizoral?

Nioxin is a good scalp cleanser. Initially i have used Nioxin System 1 before I changed to regular shampoo. FYI, Nioxin does not stop Pattern Baldness. What it does is condition your hair and remove pollutants. As the real cause of Pattern Baldness is not totally related to your scalp condition, Nioxin is not entire effective on its own to reverse hair loss. You will need other products as well to get your hair back effectively.

One more thing i would like to advise you. I noticed you tie your hair up often. Try not to tie it too tight or you might end up worse. There is a condition known as Traction Alopecia where you can dislodge good hairs when you tie it up too tight. If you have Pattern Baldness, the good hairs that you pull out will grow smaller and finer the next time, accelerating your condition.

I need help. I have no history of loss of hair or male pattern baldness in my family. But in the past week, I'm starting to realize thinning of hair on side top left (nearly on the back). Then when it got worse and i took a picture of my scalp and saw the balding going on there... I had maybe inadequate sleep for the past week (maybe a little stress but not THAT stressed) but it didn't happen before when i had even less sleep! Its not in small patches and it only affects that part of my scalp. What's wrong with me?? I didn't anticipate this at all, and I'm only 19. Is this related to some thyroid related disease? I want some confirmation before going to a doctor because its really expensive here and I don't want to waste my money only for the doctor to tell me you'll be fine.

Shampoo can not possibly stop Pattern Baldness. However, if you are suffering from this condition I suggest you find shampoos that contain less chemicals. There are a lot of very harsh chemicals in regular shampoos like Sodium Laureth Sulfate, DMDM, DEA, TEA and phlatates that can be potential health hazards in the long run. Avoid those.

For hair loss sufferers, look for shampoos that coontain Vitamin B Complex proteins like Panthenol, Biotin, Aloe Vera and Rosemary. If you have oily hair, find those with lemon extract too. In short, try to find an organic shampoo like from Body Shop. It works well together with your other hair loss treatments.

Rogaine will costs you around RM 180 for 1 months supply. You can get it in any major pharmacy. If you can't get it, consider getting Minoxidil 5%. Tell your pharmacist that you want Minox 5% and he will recommend you. Rogaine is also Minox 5% formula, just the brand name is more famous.

As what is the difference between the 2, Rogaine foam disperse foam, making it easier to apply while the normal one is liquid. But since you need to apply it to your scalp and not your hair, I find that the liquid one is more logical to use..furthermore it's a little cheaper.\

2 months back i bought and used Headway because my hair was thinning...couldn't afford to get Rogaine foam at that time...now i can see the difference already...i mean it still falls...but i noticed that its starting to get thick

No, no there's no baldness on the back..its more like on the side left, i took a picture of my top scalp, and it seems fine. I will consult a doctor soon but where do I start? Just go to a normal clinic?

If that is the case, i don't think it's Male Pattern Baldness since your condition only appears to the left side. It's either Traction Alopecia or some other related condition like thyroid problems or some minor scalp infection. Do consult your doctor or a dermatologists ASAP.

I dun really know..try specialist centers..i think there are good dermas there...but usually they are all the same if you are facing with Male Pattern Baldness dude..

One thing I noticed is even a generic minoxidil is very costlly in Malaysia.
One banner in my blog below, the minoxidil (generic) is less than USD 10 a month and even you add in the delivery fee, it still cheap.
I think some pharmacies has overcharge for generic minoxidil here.

MPB stands for Male Pattern Baldness. If you have a pattern of receding hair line that usually starts from the top of your head and the front, then it's classified as Male Pattern Baldness. Never seen it here. I bought mine from USA.

Try getting a shampoo with Chamomile and Lavender which can help with the itch. Probably some antiseptic shampoo like Dettol too can help with the itchiness. If you have dandruff, you can try Nizoral, works both with the itch and dandruff. Take more pure water and sleep early everyday can also reduce itching.

Erm let say taking one tablet Biotin 2500 mcg per day.. is it the same if taking 4 x 600 mcg? I can't find 2500 mcg Biotin in GNC here.. only got 600... taking extra tablet is ok?

2500mcg in one tablet vs 4x600 mcg, difference only 100mcg. Quantity of tablet is not an issue, look at the total dosage you're taking. So you can take 4x600 mcg. In fact like that you can split the dose, e.g. take 2x600mcg at lunch and 2x600mcg at dinner, which some people feel is better for absorption.

How much is the biotin you bought?

RM 44.. I feel that higher doses is more worth and easy to swallow because its in capsule form.

Hi there..it really depends on your condition. if Propecia alone is not effective for you you might want to reconsider to add in other treatments like supplements and rogaine. Sometimes if you are facing with moderate hair loss you will need to use more medications to treat. If you are not losing hair while taking Propecia for 6 months it's actually a good result because your hair is not thinning. Try adding in Vitamin B Complex supplements as well as Minoxidil in your regimen to help boosts hair growth. You should be able to see some regrowth after a few months.

Our body are limited to the amount of nutrients we can absorb, so if you take too much you will only be wasting it. Further to that, excessive consumption of Vitamins can in reverse cause more hair loss because it will take more energy to filter and reject excessive intake. So you will need to take what you need. Nothing more or else you might end up worse than before. Take it easy, don't go overboard, nothing happens in a day or two it takes months or even years for recovery. Consider other options like changing your lifestyle and eat a healthier diet instead.

You mean the Loreal shampoo causing you to lose even more hair?!

no la, u say like tht LOREAL will sue me. Previously no hair loss problem. But now hair become thinner, hair fall easier. Today have haircut my hairstylist told me my hair looks thinner actually i can feel it too..
Maybe the shampoo too much moisture content, not suitable with my sculp.

Yeah, maybe that shampoo not suitable for your scalp. Maybe go back to the shampoo you used before? Or try some of the shampoos reviewed on boonies site.

hi... i am 22 years old and recently i face a serious hair fall problem. i am using nioxin cleanser and nioxin hair scalp therapy. When i use scalp therapy i discover my hair drop alot (around 15-20). Isn't it not suitable for me? And i would like to ask that rogaine is 1 of the shampoo that recommend for hair fall solution?

my experience---

last time when i start to take propecia...after one month..i realized tat my hair loss problem become serious and serious...i felt worried and ask myself y still drop so many hair ... i think maybe the propecia is not effective to me then i wanna stop to take propecia...but after i went to c a doctor...the doctor asked me continue to take propecia...he said first two months we r very hard to c the result ...but after 3-4 months..the problem will be fine...then i listen to him...continue to take propecia and minoxidil 5%..after 3 months...then i really realized tat if compare v first month,my drop hair have alr decreased...recording is a best way to c the result...luckily last time i have listened to the doctor..continue to take propecia...i am very confident if i continue to use propecia and minoxidil 5 % ..my hair loss problem will be cured...

minoxidil 5% and rogaine is same thing......propecia is drug...for internal use...minoxidil 5%/roagaine is for external use...if u wan to cure ur hair loss problem...use both...propecia + minoxidil 5%...u can c the result after 3 months.....

i bought from watson which located in plaza jaya (KL 茨场街 there),rm158 for one month...but if you can afford,take Vitamin B Complex supplements together....lagi baik....it is a vitamin for growing hair....
the shampoo which i used is head and shoulder for anti hair fall (yellow colour)..it is quite effective to me...other ppls i dunno

Yup. you are right. I also wondered. This was what the hair care consultant told me. She has captured the screen shot for me. According to her, there is a white layer called keratin has blocked my hair pore. My hair scalp is oily and cause me hair fall.

Well you can always ask for discount..Find a smaller pharmacy and ask. I think the lowest i bought is around 160...you can also ask for other brands besides regaine like Head way..It's the ingredient minoxidil that matters and not the brand of the product. The end result is the same.

i am 22, and right now, i am currently suffering a hair loss problem..

its all started a month before puasa, when i was assigned as a temporary assistant of waste coordinator in my workplace.
the job requires me to handle the scrap and waste (weigh and record). the waste consists of rubber compound mixed with chemicals.

i can say right after that, my hair falls 'cheerfully'..my hand will be full with hair during shampooing.

right now, got big spot with seldom hair at my right side of the head, and now its expanding and getting bigger to the back.

is it caused by chemicals? or is it because of stress?
my family has no history of genetic hair loss problem.

what should i do? plz help.

You can try..if your hair loss is not that serious Minoxidil can do a lot of wonders alone..no need to take Propecia..but I suggest you to take some Vitamin B Complex supplements too. Will definitely help a lot.

It can be trigger by exposure to floating chemicals that can actually hurt your scalp as some rubber mixtures can be very corrosive. If you think that the environment is too harsh, put on a cap..and eat more supplements to boosts your immune system. As for your spot, i have no visual confirmation but it might be caused by an allergic reaction if the hair loss is sudden an apparent. If you think it's not normal see your doctor right away.

well recently i just started wearing it to cover the bald area..

i went to see a doctor last week, and she told me to go see the specialist.. and FYI, i already made an appointment with specialist at UH next month..its still a long wait, and my hair will falling..

so is there any supplement or vitamin that should i take? at least to decrease the fall rate
