I would say that Propecia and Minoxidil are currently the only effective way to maintain your current hair and promote growth. It's also fairly important to remember that you will need to stay as healthy as possible to improve your hair growth.

Smoking, late night sleep, salty food and lack of exercise will increase hair loss. So although Male Pattern Baldness is related to DHT, other factors like these will hasten the process.

Use Propecia to stop the DHT accumulation and use Minoxidil to accelerate growth. Don't waste your time on other hair loss products that do not work. There are so many other hair loss products on the market but NONE can guarantee REAL GROWTH because the FDA (Federal Drug Administration) only currently approves 2 medications for hair loss. Stick to what the doctors said and you will see results. You can also try the laser comb if you have the budget as it will help with a thicker hair. It's also cleared by FDA to be beneficial for treating hair thinning.

Spend your money elsewhere on unproven treatments will generally result in a much lighter wallet and faster thinning hair. In the meantime, there are still NO PERMANENT SOLUTION to stop Male Pattern Baldness. However, new technology like Hair Cloning is about to happen and soon in our lifetime we might be able to finally get a cure for hair loss. Hi Boonie,
Laser comb is it something similar to this http://www.apirascience.com ?
It's expensive..cost around 4k for three months treatment. Can afford but still very pain haha.
Should i just buy Propecia and Minoxidil?

I starting to take propecia already, nearly 2 months still no result... still at the shedding phase i guess. But doctor already mentioned need atleast 3 months to see result.
Really need a lot patient & money to cure hair loss... sometimes i really think of paying rm15 to cut botak and settle.
