QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 1 2008, 11:04 AM) CIMB DA Gold and Platinum are free for life. yah, Direct Access has no annual fees. Prior to CIMB taking over Southern Bank, this offer was for professional or graduate. http://www.directaccess.com.my/index.php?c...rd&ac=12&tpt=da David83, noted from link above no mentioned of one needing to be a graduate/professional to qualify for free annual fee but link below does mention http://www.directaccess.com.my/index.php?c...ard&ac=8&tpt=da Also CIMB have lowered the annual income requirement for Platinum to RM80K whereas previously under Southern Bank it got to be above RM100K. I do have a DA Plat CC card but it is in my drawer as the benefits aren't that great; moreover, got to pay for courier charges when redeem rewards points and the points have a fixed expiry date (you accumulate points for 3 years then start from 0 again). but with CIMB now owing DA, there are more offers, recently DA have discount/rebate at MPH. Hi Gen-X, the graduate/professional thingy is an application requirement and the free for life thing is the feature for DA. I guess both are totally different subjects. David83, it is repeatly asked here in this thread about free annual fee, i suggest that you compile the posts here in regards to CC with free annual fee at the 1st post. UOB Plat - got to have BOTH MasterCard and Visa and swipe minimum 6 times/card. Alliance Plat - swipe 12 times a year or spend RM3,000/year. RHB Evo - got to swipe once a month or RM8 is charged for that month. OCBC Plat Robinson - got to spend RM8K/year inclusive of minimum RM1K at Robinson eyng mentioned MBB Flex -got to swipe twice a month or else charged RM3.95 Citibank Choice - requirement for free annual fee ? |

I hereby declare RHB bank is damm lousy
Their CDM at OUG are constantly down making it my 2nd month i had to go to the nearest branch at Salak South. Damm stupid service they have....and not to mention that OUG branch is quite new not older than 2 years i think. From now on, GIRO payment from my Maybank will be starting for the stupid RHB until i decide to cancel their card for good. Btw GIRO credit card payment is direct not required for 2-3days like interbank fund transfer rite? |

Just realise CIMB DA requires an annual salary of 30k. Was thinking of apply that.
Looks like Citi Choice is the only choice for me now. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 1 2008, 11:04 AM) CIMB DA Gold and Platinum are free for life. CIMB Platinum is free according to this link:http://www.directaccess.com.my/index.php?c...rd&ac=12&tpt=da CIMB It says: QUOTE Annual Fee Principal - Platinum Free For Life - Gold RM140 - Classic RM70 Supplementary - Platinum Free For Life - Gold RM70 - Classic RM35 Which is rather conflicting, as I thought the Gold and Classic is also free for life? I think I will visit the bank and ask once and for all. Will let you guys know. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 1 2008, 10:47 PM) I think those that you quoted are CC from CIMB itself. Right on. I'm aware of the difference, but I was told that CIMB cards (not DA) are also free for life. Btw, I'm not interested in DA's card... don't like their concept of professionals or graduates only. I feel it's borderline discrimination (but that's just me Those that I quoted are CC from CIMB DA which previously under SBB. CIMB has its own CC and DA is also under CIMB but different management team. Btw, any feedback from CIMB card users? Much appreciated. This post has been edited by myusername: Jan 1 2008, 10:54 PM |

As far as I know, exchange rate for the cards is determined by VISA/Mastercard International and then the banks add a little for administrative fees. (Some openly say they impose but most of them do not say it upfront) I suggest you hunt for online coupons to get a better deal |
