To terminate, you will need to submit a written request. Cannot do over the phone. Have to destroy the card as well. Cannot terminate with outstanding balance.

Wow... the lowest I saw before this was Mastercard platinum @60k p.a.
For Visa platinum, lowest I saw was @100k p.a.

Seems like CC standard dropping fast. I remember Gold @48k and Platinum @120k...

BTW, side track: this is my 300th posting thumbup.gif I got 3 stars now blush.gif

ok guys, i need some sincere recommendations. Haven owned a credit card yet. I'm looking for a suitable card, i wont be using much in a month, mostly on petrol & insurance which is around rm400 the most.

I'm targetting on the no annual free, Citibank Choice, Maybank FLEX and UOB VOX. any cards amongst these or other recommendations that have good rebates/promo?

UOB Vox is more suitable for clubbers..

If u have local bank account, better get from the same bank atleast easier to view statement and repayment.

Citibank Choice only 2 years free then have to pay annual fees.

I suggest Maybank for convenience or UOB for cash rebate

Voting MBB Flex... just need to swipe your card 2 times a month and the monthly fee is waived...

guanteik, but the Flex, u need to swipe at least RM300 a month rite? else RM3.95 will be charged.

Ok so the same applies to Choice rite? juz swipe twice a month or there's a minimum limit to avoid charges?

how bout OCBC Titanium?

just swipe 2 times, not RM300 where it was used to be... they revised the fee waiver criteria.

Titanium is created just for the sake of the card's name... just like a Platinium card, Gold card.. etc.. I have personally came to know that some Gold CC only gives u a few thousand of credit limit, just like normal Classic cards but they have the advantage of charging you the annual fees at a high rate. Well, you pay, you get the 'name'.

MB Flex is two swipes per month for monthly fee waiver.

You need to have two UOB cards to qualify for annual fee waiver, but you do not get any points for using UOB Vox to swipe.

CIMB Bank Credit card points only valid for 1 year and they'll expire at the end of every year. If you wish to collect points then go for expiry with no points expiration or longer points expiry.

Citibank is one of them with no points expiry but I can't remember what other banks policy are with regards to points expiration.

I also got consider CIMB free-for-life. Is it also free-for-life for Platinum? If yes, then worth getting as spare card (no need to worry about collecting points etc)

I am having both Flex and Choice. For Flex they will charge 3.95 should I fail to swipe twice in the month, but for Choice, Citibank doesn't charge me anything.

However Flex benefit is every RM1 get 1 point but Choice is for every RM50 spent get 50 points. Hence may require longer time to build up Citibank's points (must make sure transactions are in denominations of RM50). icon_idea.gif

MBF will automatically upgrade you to a gold card as soon as you spend 5k. No set time limit.

Btw, I was told that banks did their annual credit limit reviews on specific dates. I though its funny cause I believed its one year (after your 12th statement) after the credit card has been issued to you.

CIMB Platinum card is not free for life if I'm not mistaken.

Anyone here is aware which bank charges additional administrative fees if you use it overseas ? I know that EON bank charges 2% extra and MBF charges 1% extra ... anyone else?
