When I first had my credit card with the 3k credit limit, I terribly love to max up my credit card. Before the due date, I would attempt to hit the highest debt possible, like in open defiance. The highest I did manage to is RM2,992.56. Nowadays I can't do that anymore cause my credit limit is high. If I do that there is no way I can pay my balance in full.  sweat.gif

Haha I do that just so that I could 'limit up' my CC as I desperately wanted to buy a DELL pc back then and I need it fast  laugh.gif
*
How do u able to spend RM3000 whilst your salary is not more than RM2000 ????
Im sure your salary is not more than RM2000 else u would have get higher credit limit, no?

What do u mean "limit up"?
So that bank will raise the credit limit for u? they dont usually do that except u have been using the card for atleast 1-2 years.

I just got my card raised RM1000 automatically.

why would a HSBC promoter promote their competitor as the most preferred CC? while only then mentioning HSBC is the second most preferred???

must be something fishy....
*
Becoz HSBC requirement super damm high and their sales person so kiasu, they only hunt for those "rich looking" customer.
Try wearing a short pants and t-shirt and walk up to them say u want to apply card.

Don't see why cannot. Is the cheque to your name? If so show them the original cheque and your payslip plus ur bank  statement. Since u don't have EA form, i think u will need 6 months of history. Rental income can apply for card one. Just put self employed, bank statement, and tenancy agreement.
*
No it will be very hard to apply like that..

Ask those working as freelance and u will know how many times they get rejected.

True to a certain extent. If you swipe a lot, the banks will notice and sometimes will send you free gifts or special offer.

Also, I just realise Amex pump petrol has CC points. Not sure how true, will try it out. Stupid me...
*
No not really...
If u get free stuffs, means other cardholder will also get.

Maybank Amex pump petrol got points...

ok guys, i need some sincere recommendations. Haven owned a credit card yet. I'm looking for a suitable card, i wont be using much in a month, mostly on petrol & insurance which is around rm400 the most.

I'm targetting on the no annual free, Citibank Choice, Maybank FLEX and UOB VOX. any cards amongst these or other recommendations that have good rebates/promo?
*
UOB Vox is more suitable for clubbers..

If u have local bank account, better get from the same bank atleast easier to view statement and repayment.

Citibank Choice only 2 years free then have to pay annual fees.

I suggest Maybank for convenience or UOB for cash rebate

I hereby declare RHB bank is damm lousy

Their CDM at OUG are constantly down making it my 2nd month i had to go to the nearest branch at Salak South.
Damm stupid service they have....and not to mention that OUG branch is quite new not older than 2 years i think.

From now on, GIRO payment from my Maybank will be starting for the stupid RHB until i decide to cancel their card for good.

Btw GIRO credit card payment is direct not required for 2-3days like interbank fund transfer rite?

anyone know which bank offering the lowest exchange rate in card when we purchase item in oversea?visa or mastercard betteR?
*
Buying Paypal from forummer is cheaper than using credit card...except that u dont get points from your card that is.

QUOTE(hye @ Jan 1 2008, 11:41 PM)
As far as I know, exchange rate for the cards is determined by VISA/Mastercard International and then the banks add a little for administrative fees. (Some openly say they impose but most of them do not say it upfront) I suggest you hunt for online coupons to get a better deal
*
Agreed...

I bought chocolate in GBP (Great Britian Pound) using paypal + online coupon discount 10%

WaCKy-Angel, previously you said that a Visa CC can be used on Mastercard terminal or vice versa, right? How about AMEX card on Visa or Mastercard terminal? How about using Visa Wave CC on Paypass terminal?

Hope you could shed some lights.
*
Yup all terminal should accept both Visa and Mastercard, except some exceptional agreement between merchant with bank.

Amex is not compulsory on all terminal, instead usually the terminal owner (bank) will ask whether the merchant want to "add" Amex into the machine or not..

Btw there's also other payment/loyalty program that can be added into the terminal, different bank different program la ofcourse...
Like Bonuslink all those thingy..

I dont think u can use Visa Wave card on Paypass terminal..
Wait i'll just do a test and comfirm.

Ok guys after doin some readups on those Free Annual Fee cards, i've decided to go with Maybank FLEX. I've got some quieries
1.is it Visa/Master?
2.is it entitled to those TreatPoints too? and does the points have expiry?
3.And also, does petrol refuelling applies to the RM1=1 treatpoints?
*
1. U can opt for either one, or both, or include Maybank Amex (Not American Express Charge Card)
2. What u mean? any amount u use on your card gets TP, except purchases at petrol station.
3. As above (except Amex like below)

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 2 2008, 11:53 AM)
Any Debit or Credit Card are eligible for TP collection. So far, TP won't expiry.

As for petrol refilling transaction, only MBB AMEX is eligible for TP whereby RM 1 = 2 TP.
*
Debit card also got meh?

But anyway, now savings account also got TP..like if u reload HP or pay bills.

Last but not least, if u wan apply card pls look for me tongue.gif
Im Maybankard agent..
I will offer u some cash if your card gets approved (becoz so far Maybank dont give promotion like other bank stingy Maybank tongue.gif )

Added on January 2, 2008, 12:07 pmOK tested Paypass card on Visa Wave machine..

It doesnt works...
