In old day, drivers blamed multi bookings or taxi/rider fake bookings.

Then suddenly everyone (almost) forget about multi/fake bookings as the cause of cancellation and put the blame to stolen ping.

Best part is some drivers still purposely go to the pup to see which driver come and 'steal' his/her job so that he/she can report it to cs.

This almost the same situation as yours but mine is reversed. My traffic condition was much better than you and i completed it within 30 minutes.

Already said, Grab earnings depend on luck.

If Grab gives you a bad job, curse and take it. Pray that your next job would be better.

Only cancel jobs when you have no choice, e.g. you need to go to office in one hour, but the job is likely to take longer than that.

It is only 11am but it has been a very slow day today.

I've only received one cancellation since this morning and I really want to call it a day right now 😂

10 hours driving everyday maybe 2-3k

How can earn up to rm5k ? I willing to work long hours. Some say can earn more some say earn less than rm3k

I think I understand how this works.

Today's fare is based on last week's traffic data. If last week traffic like sampah, then the rate today will hike kaw-kaw. That's explained why during CNY week the fare rate was so handsome even half day driving easily can earn RM300++ fares.

Meanwhile, everyone suffers from the effect on the next week after CNY where the traffic is back to normal and the fare rates so low until I myself refused to drive.

This is just my observation and theory. Last 2 days morning at Kelana Jaya the fare rate was still high even without LRT shut down. This high fare information was from the passenger who travel with me this morning where he paid RM32 instead RM15-20 on normal basis.

But I might be wrong.

Those who say can earn 5k,ask them is gross or net.You have to pay 25% commission to Grab,fuel will cost around 15-25% depending on what car and driving strategy.Car maintenance some more

If you want 5k net a month,you need to gross around 8-10k which is quite hard to achieve these days without incentive.

bear in mind there are allot more drivers nowadays. so you have a lot of competition for jobs during non peak hours. this will reflect in low fares and long wait time to get a job.

The easiest thing to do is by doing Grab yourself.

I dont know what kind of car that you drive and where do you live. If you live in outskirt of KL and want to have nonstop ping you have to come to city center, ampang, PJ and Wangsa maju area.

Those who earn net 5k a month might do these things

1. Sleep in a car and only go home once a week. Take bath at LS KLIA or mosque or any rest area while waiting for ping.
2. Drive 6s and have offline airport job.
3. Have efficient car so fuel cost is low

I drive 6s and premium and my net income around 1.5k after deduct all the cost. Luckily i have side business which i already build from 3-4 years back. Now only drive due to economic situation.

Once my business start pickup, i will only drive part time as i do enjoy driving around KL and see all the hot chicks.

today is my bad luck day, I forgot to key in RM2.50 toll charge after drop off passager.

Tq now I understand is not easy...I always see in grab maps a lot car park at same place waiting to pick up customer, the competition is high

To get RM5k nett, u need at least RM9-10k gross.

Of course taxi fake booking is almost zero now... Taxi got priority booking in JustGrab mah...
