Guys, I need some help here. I was using Xiaomi Router 3 all this while, and both wireless and wired speedtest able to get about 90mbps+ before TIME upgrade our package. After speed upgraded to 500mbps, it seems like no changes in terms of speed using my Xiaomi Router 3. Yesterday TIME came and installed the TP-Link router for me, wireless about to get about 150mbps (compared to my Xiaomi Router 3, 90mbps+) and wired able to get 510mbps (compared to my Xiaomi Router 3, 90mbps+).

When stream movies thru network using TP-Link AC1200, movies tend to buffer at times when connected to 2.4GHz, however Xiaomi Router 3 doesn't observed this issue. So I'll temporary switch back to my Xiaomi Router 3 at the moment.

Anyone know what's going on with my Xiaomi Router 3? I tried reset factory default for my Xiaomi Router 3 but still the same, speedtest can't get more than 100mbps despite TIME has already upgraded to 500mbps.

Thank you in advance.

Your Mi Router 3 has limitation on its FE WAN & LAN port (100Mbps), you will need a new router with GE port (Gigabit, both WAN & LAN).

Reset will not help anything. Go for Mi Router 3g/4 (if very budget tight), else go for Mi Router Pro/HD (add some bucks).

Thanks.

One word for you. Change router. Your Xiaomi router only support FE, which is Fast Ethernet, which is a max of 100Mbps.

Thank you guys... appreciated all the advice. It takes time to load movies from kodi on TP Link router somehow and intermittent buffering. Let me try to sort this out myself then. Not a big deal. Thanks once again! smile.gif

If you have an android phone, run WifiAnalyser app on it to see how congested the channels in your area are. Good luck!

Hi. I have read your review.

Need answers to a few questions.
This AC5400X boots faster than others? 35 seconds to load with Internet working.

May I know what is the purpose of link aggregation?
And how do the Dual WAN thingy works?
The 5GHz signal reception is very good?
Can get higher speed further away from the router?

Is it the best choice to upgrade to AC5400X from AC1900?
Dual Band and Tri-Band got a lot of differences?

Thanks.
*
What SilentVampire said is pretty much accurate.

AC5400 router is a very significant step up from AC1900. AC1900 chipset at this point is pretty old. smile.gif

Sifus, any good suggestion for router? Since the speed has been upgraded, can the default TP C1200 from time support the speed? Thanks.

Archer C1200 itself can support wired speed p to 800Mbps--900Mbps. You have to make sure other factors such as your receiving devices (Laptop, Ipad, Mobiles etc) are all able to cope with that requirement. By changing router itself but having poor user devices will not give optimal performance.

In real word, we tested Archer C1200, wired the highest approx. 8xxMbps & wireless approx. 4xxMbps.

You can purchase the D-Link 882 via selfcare at subsidized price of RM550.
We have tested during installations, wired speed recorded 99xMbps & Wireless 4xxMbps.

Thanks.

Currently using streamyx wanted to change to time. What’s the best plan right now and any freebies or discount ? Need to sign contract?
*
First check for Time BB availability at your place. Then ask any of this sifu to recommend you to subscribe heheh. Inside loop on cancelling TM/Streamyx if still under contract : use family member address, change utility account to your name say you moved house already and that house has internet connection.

Are you still within contract ?
If YES, then after your downgrade, your contract will be reset, but no penalty.
If NO, then you are free to downgrade with no contract reset & no penalty.

Thanks.

Somebody mentioned before for international gateway TM is still better than other local broadband providers.

Depends on countries & their partners POPs, the mega sub cable eg. APG, Unity, AAE-1, FASTER etc... & acquiring of GTL already made a remarkable footprint in International presence.
