Any sifu here can advise how to lower the PING when use with PS4? notworthy.gif
I just installed TIME 100Mbps, to my surprise the PING when connected to US game server is way over 200ms. sad.gif Even PINg with ASIA region is around 200ms. My previous stimix is below 100ms for Asia region. How could TIME be worse than stimix? doh.gif

Remarks: The PING reading is shown in Ps4 game Plants vs Zombies:Garden Warfare 2

1. Make sure you're on ethernet cable connection.
2. You need to know the server address and do a tracert and capture that to show Time support.
3. Explain to cust care what your precious Ping was so they could get the engineer to look into it.
4. Cross fingers and hope they could change the route for u.

My previous experience in Battlefield 4 on SG server was supposed to be 20+ms then one day it surged to 100+ms and it's something happen over SG route, i guess Time engineers work with SG telco to fix the issue for me.

U can try your luck.

You cant do anything about it.

TIME does not have that many peering with international isp (except to india and then europe)

For low ping at US unifi still da best.

Asus RT-N66U will be worse than the TIME Stock Router.

Thanks.

I just bought the AC5400X and set-up was easy by just entering the PPOE username and password. I am using a Cat7 cable as well.

Have been doing speedtests in the last hour and highest I achieved was about 600 Mbps. I am on the 1 Gbps plan. On the TP Link AC-1200, I was able to achieve up to 700-800+ Mbps a few times. All tests on wired.

Any special settings in the AC5400X that I need to do to make sure I achieve the fastest speed on my AC5400X?

Maybe later after midnight may be faster when less users are online.

There is a firmware update which improve performance, make sure you update to that. smile.gif

You can purchase via Selfcare portal.

Or recontract 24-months to get it for free, provided you have been in tenure for at least 12 months.

Thanks.

Your wireless signal penetration & coverage maybe more powerful than Archer AC1200 but in terms of routing performance (WAN-LAN / LAN-WAN), more or less the same.
Wireless Archer AC1200 slightly better on 5GHz band.

TPLink supports 500Mbps "technically".

I believe if you downgrade from 500-100 your contract will be reset to 24Mo,
but if you upgrade to 1Gbps it won't reset. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
However if you already have TPLink C1200 router you will not get the new DLink 882 router upon upgrade.
Usually mesh wifi system will have a backhaul channel with high bandwidth to do all the heavylifting. Your performance won't be cut by half, but will be slightly reduced.
*
If upgrade to 1gb wont renew contract?
Im currently on 500mb plan and going to expired in few months later. Meaning i can upgrade to 1gb for few months (Just to get the free router) and downgrade back to 500mb plan once expired?
i know it sounds cheapskate. Haha

Maximum speed possible is 949Mbps due to Ethernet TCP overhead.

You get more than that is due to the inaccuracy with speedtest.net smile.gif

Same chip with ROG GT-AC5300. C5400X is faster on USB performance and boot up stupidly fast. Routing and WiFi should be more or less the same.

Main differentiation is on feature.

Hi. I have read your review.

Need answers to a few questions.
This AC5400X boots faster than others? 35 seconds to load with Internet working.

May I know what is the purpose of link aggregation?
And how do the Dual WAN thingy works?
The 5GHz signal reception is very good?
Can get higher speed further away from the router?

Is it the best choice to upgrade to AC5400X from AC1900?
Dual Band and Tri-Band got a lot of differences?

Thanks.

Hi I don’t have the router but I can answer some of your Qs as they are quite general. Link aggregation in the TP-Link context is to combine two LAN ports into one port therefore increasing the throughout to potentially 2Gbps. Dual WAN is that you can have two separate WAN connection, which is useful if you have two separate ISP subscription or one ISP but two accounts. One will be the backup, and one will be main. Businesses does that as they can’t afford to have internet down.

Yes, it would be good if you can upgrade to 5400X from AC1900. Dual band and tri band and have no differences. Tri band means having two 5GHz band and one 2.4GHz band, and dual band is only one 2.4Ghz band and one 5GHz band.

If any telco/ISP tries to make you agree to be in a new contract just because they upgrade their packages ,note the date/time and complain/report to MCMC. It is common practice with Astro/Unifi,etc. No such problems with TIME, they emailed me to say don't go for the Unifi 100mbs/rm 129 -caused my contract ended last July,no regrets 0.5Gbps /RM 139.

Guys, I need some help here. I was using Xiaomi Router 3 all this while, and both wireless and wired speedtest able to get about 90mbps+ before TIME upgrade our package. After speed upgraded to 500mbps, it seems like no changes in terms of speed using my Xiaomi Router 3. Yesterday TIME came and installed the TP-Link router for me, wireless about to get about 150mbps (compared to my Xiaomi Router 3, 90mbps+) and wired able to get 510mbps (compared to my Xiaomi Router 3, 90mbps+).

When stream movies thru network using TP-Link AC1200, movies tend to buffer at times when connected to 2.4GHz, however Xiaomi Router 3 doesn't observed this issue. So I'll temporary switch back to my Xiaomi Router 3 at the moment.

Anyone know what's going on with my Xiaomi Router 3? I tried reset factory default for my Xiaomi Router 3 but still the same, speedtest can't get more than 100mbps despite TIME has already upgraded to 500mbps.

Thank you in advance.
