Guys, I need some help here. I was using Xiaomi Router 3 all this while, and both wireless and wired speedtest able to get about 90mbps+ before TIME upgrade our package. After speed upgraded to 500mbps, it seems like no changes in terms of speed using my Xiaomi Router 3. Yesterday TIME came and installed the TP-Link router for me, wireless about to get about 150mbps (compared to my Xiaomi Router 3, 90mbps+) and wired able to get 510mbps (compared to my Xiaomi Router 3, 90mbps+).

When stream movies thru network using TP-Link AC1200, movies tend to buffer at times when connected to 2.4GHz, however Xiaomi Router 3 doesn't observed this issue. So I'll temporary switch back to my Xiaomi Router 3 at the moment.

Anyone know what's going on with my Xiaomi Router 3? I tried reset factory default for my Xiaomi Router 3 but still the same, speedtest can't get more than 100mbps despite TIME has already upgraded to 500mbps.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you guys... appreciated all the advice. It takes time to load movies from kodi on TP Link router somehow and intermittent buffering. Let me try to sort this out myself then. Not a big deal. Thanks once again! smile.gif

Guys, i have one question. Currently using the TIME given TP-Link Archer AC1200, I have one external HDD connected to the router and I enabled ftp sharing via internet, which means that I will be able to access my HDD content when I'm outside. Yesterday, when I'm trying to access my HDD content from outside via ES File Explorer from my Android, I can't access. When i come home, i login to my TP Link router settings and check, and it seems like the ftp address changed. Is there a way to prevent the address change?

That's because your public IP changes; either your router restarted or ur PPPOE session refresh. You can use Dynamic DNS feature, so that you can access ur ftp using domain name instead of IP address. No-ip provider is still free but you need to re-claim/re-verify the domain each month.

Btw, ftp protocol itself is not really secure especially when you want to use it over internet, if just local network should be fine. Try to google the risk of hosting ftp over the internet first

thanks bro. appreciate your advise, if that's the case i'll just disable the ftp sharing over the internet then. thank you so much! rclxms.gif

Hi guys,I just bought a Mi Box S last week. I have TIME broadband at home with the given TP Link C1200 router. It seems like I'm having issues connecting my Mi Box S to my router. Tried both 2.4Ghz and 5GHz able to detect and connect, however it shows "no internet". The rest of the devices at home able to connect and browse internet without any issues. I tried set all my wireless router settings to auto but it doesn't help either. If i were to disable the wifi encryption then it works. Another thing that I noticed is that, if it shows connected no internet, I have to manually go Mi Box S setting change to the correct date and time, then it works, but I have to do it everytime when i power on the Mi Box S which is very troublesome. Can anyone please shed some light on my issues?

Hi everyone, need some help here. It's been quite a few years that I subscribe to TIME broadband 100mbps package with the given TP Link Archer C1200 router. Having no issues with connection speed all this while until lately, here are some problems that I encountered.

1. When laptop connected to 5GHz network, both download and upload speed able to get 100+- mbps which is normal. However, when my Honor 20 Pro phone, Mi Box S and Ipad connected to 5GHz network, download gets only 30-40 mbps but upload able to get 90-100 mbps.
2. During the test, my devices show connected to 5GHz network with excellent signal strength. Stand right in front of router and do speedtest still the same issue.
3. Rebooted router, same issue. Go into TP Link and restore all settings back to default, same issue.
4. Called up TIME tech support, they did a so called "reset" from their side and ask me use my phone browse to testyourspeed.time.com.my. Did a speedtest from TIME website using my phone and result shows 100+mbps on both download and upload. TIME considered this issue solved and close the ticket.
5. After hang up the call, open my Ookla speedtest app using my phone and re-test again, again it shows download 30+mbps and upload 100+ mbps. Tested on 2.4GHz network, download shows 20+ mbps and upload 90+ mbps.
6. I can see that my Mi Box S is loading Netflix videos slowly and even when playing videos, I can see pixelation which I believe Netflix is optimizing the video quality based on my connection speed.

I've been using the same phone and did speed test using Ookla speedtest app all this while and I get actually get 100+ mbps on both download and upload.

Sorry if my explanation causes any confusion. I hope someone could help me to solve my connection issues.

Thank you very much!

So previously on the phone you can get 100+mbps for dl and ul. Only recently the dl dropped to 30+mbps?

Double check that you are on the latest firmware update. Perform a factory reset. Hopefully, it resolves the issue.
Hi... You quoted a post of mine from January.. I can't recall that far.. What issue are you facing?
Yeah, switch channels and test again during off peak hours. Install a wifi analyzer app on your phone and walk around your place to find the "best" channels for both 2.4 & 5Ghz networks. I use best in quotes because, what works today may not work as efficiently in a couple months or next year. Due to your neighbors, etc, changing network environment. I can consistently get 2xxMbps up & down over WiFi using either of my C1200s.

Finally sort out Mi Box S issues. Tested tons of method none of them works, finally have to change from DHCP to Fixed IP then it solves the problem. Guess Mi Box has some compatibility issues with TP Link Acher C1200 router.

As for slow dl speed, yeah will give it a try tonight when get back to home. Thanks bro!

Update: Without changing any settings in my router, thing seems to be back to normal now, strange. Now when I do speedtest using my phone, I'm able to get back 100+ mbps on both dl and ul for now. Hopefully your issue also solve by now.

Yes. I thought it's my browser problem or ad blocker.
However on my iphone, the video calls/calls have been disconnecting intermittently. Like after 10~15 minutes, it disconnects. The only good thing is that it connects back pretty much quickly but still it keeps happening. That one~~10 seconds disconnection is annoying.

PC gaming - same. disconnected and couldn't even connect back until i flush DNS.(this is the only thing i knew to do so i did it).

Not sure if it's TIME's problem, hardware or so. But it seems like below forumer is also getting somewhat similar issues.
