This is known. Any other telcos who uses unifi infra will be throttled down the speed and will not get full speed.

This is the reason why always signing up unifi is better.

Yeah I know. But previously when I ported to Maxis from Unifi, I did not suffer from this. Seems like got lucky. Good thing is, got 3 months free and only RM99 for 300mbps plan as I am maxis postpaid user.

But still would prefer Maxis routing over Unifi, it’s a trade off I guess. Hopefully Maxis NGBB will expand even more or wait for Time, since adjacent building has coverage.

Did a real world test on the ‘downgraded’ speed.

Surprisingly now I can hit the ‘max’ speed everywhere at home even further from the main router. And even inside the study room that is connected to child node also can get full speed and remain low latency.

Below test in master bedroom (connected to main router in living room)

Last time at most I can get 3xx to 4xx Mbps out of 600Mbps.

So proven that my old Linksys mr8300 Fri-band wifi mesh is still usable for 200Mbps plan while may not be competent for 600Mbps (probably due to the interferences by neighbours while as well since even near to the main routers nowadays also I could not get full 600Mbps speed).

Actual would be 50% of 433.

2x2 device with a link speed of 866mbps getting around 400mbps seems about right.

Mine is tri-band 2x2 5Ghz up to 867Mbps. but u are rite, i think the consistent real life speed most of the time will be around 400Mbps++ (if there is interference).

I just noticed today that they use the 'white cable' all the way from FDP at the pole into the ONU at my living room, without any FWS between.
Maybe, just my assumption, those area served by pole will use the 'white cable' direct connection without any FWS in between.
But they protect the cable using the flexible grey tube starting from the ceiling to the living area.
*
From the Pole FDP/FDB to your house wall FTB (before entering your house), the cable used should be outdoor type.
Are you sure they use indoor white cable ? If so, that is not proper at all.

Money value or connectivity?

My neighbour use  unifi, so far no connection issues for few yrs

Only non integrity is during installation, the Unif 3rd party contractor will charge u installation fee, even though not suppose to... An old couple in my taman kena, Rm100+ even though the length from outside port does not exceed limit
*
There is a ratecard, you can request the charges rate from them before agreeing, always Unifi's contractor charges are marked up skyrocket, you can negotiate, if still you dont agree with it, you can hire your own contractor to pull.
There are many times where either they charged too expensive or they couldn't find ways to pull, then we will kick in if customer engage us.

Ya... I attached the work completion form here
If that wasn't a proper installation, should I make a complaint to Time? doh.gif

Ic... Actually it happened to my inlwas house too..
Since only elders at home, and they just paid to avoid dramas

It was clearly less than 10 meters to their house... So they just assume there's no charges...
As for Time, no such hanky panky stuff, their own tech install... No charges at all...

U are from which company btw

speed from my PC in study room (connected via wired to my linksys MR8300 - child node).

can get full speed and low latency.

and my request to downgrade to 200Mbps did not impact my previously requested public IP while i was on 600Mbps as well.

If I see it correctly, it is light grey, this is actually outdoor cable from Huawei.
The newer deployment where pole is being used, this cable is being used as well.

Yes.. the colour of the fibre cable that the installer used is kind of light grey. Not exactly pure white as I mentioned before.

BTW, I'm surprised because the work completion form have a detailed explanation about the installation, even complete with FDP info and tagging details.

The tagging will be blank after exposing to sun and rain haha. Mine is black thick outdoor cable to FWS then pure white to ONT.
