jjj2 any idea what is causing my connection to disconnect?

Done pppoe connection, after a while it will just hang. When i try to dial again it says password incorrect.

I have to keep resetting modem. Sometimes it work sometimes it doeant. Seem like my port is limited to 500mbps still? ( instead of 1gbps).

* got momentary reach 980mbps after that it just auto disconnect. Even succesaful login only 500mbps afterwards.

Reading through the thread ..
Many have issues achieving the speed.
Client hardware plays a role too to achieve the speed.
You want amazing WiFi speed. .change your router...there is a reason why in the market they have wireless router which cost more than 2K...if a RM200 router can give u gigabit WiFi...what's the point of manufacture selling those high end wireless router and wireless cards.
So far the bes I've experienced is Killer WiFi..
*
I am using asus rt ac5300 + tplink t9e. I dont think hardware is an issue? Maybe i should upgrade my pcie card to asus pce-ac88?

Both wifi and lan cable gets 600mbps only.

Impossibru.

I am just thinking...can we split the bandwidth to different Wifi SSID? Ex: 200Mbps for Wifi SSID 1 , 300 Mbps for Wifi SSiD 2...then can rent out WiFi, since not using so much speed anyway...hehe.

Any routers can do that?

Set QOS loh.

try to connect just one device and do the speedtest on that device. if other devices are also using the internet it can hamper your speedtest result
*
Already tried.

Its the same.

Is like the ISP clone my mac address or something and put a limit to it.

First when i get the 1gbps is very fast. Speedtest 980mbps. Then i tried DL 80gb of 4k movie to test the speed. Not 5 minutes later it disconnect. Cannot login for maybe half an hour then managed to login. Speedtest all become 500-600mbps ish. Once it hit 600mbps it will auto disconnect.

Weird stuff. Router seems to be ok. Router cpu utilization also very low.

Hi guys, I'm using TP-Link Archer C5400 and my TIME internet has been upgraded to 1Gbps. Speedtest could achieve 936 Mbps / 502 Mbps using CAT5e but still the max speed over wifi is 512 Mbps / 496 MbpsRouter is on the latest firmware. Tested using Macbook Pro 2017 and iPhone X.

The Archer C5400 is on the latest firmware and all the devices is located in the same room.

Any sifu could advice me on how to achieve max speedtest over the wifi?

Those are limited to 2x2 mimo and only capable of 500mbps. As a matter of fact all phones are 500mbps limited to my knowledge.

U wanna 800mbps+ wireless u gotta look for 3x3 or 4x4 mimo. One good one is pce-ac88. Fastest wireless adapter in the world.

tested with mbp over wifi using archer 5400.. cannot reach 1gbps

Those wifi chip is built into laptop casing. Without those antenna like pcie cards reckon quite hard to reach 1gbps unless u next to it.

Either that or the router is not real 3x3 mimo. Not much exp with tplink 5400 to be honest but kinda surprisrd hw cheap it is.

Like that i think better use wire now.

Wait for ac802.11ax router release next few months.

Those new standard ax can 1gbps over wifi no problem but the product will only get popular next year.

Guys, question im using Asus RT-AC86U for the router and for my pc wifi adapter using Tplink Archer T9E.

I am only able to get a wifi speed of 400MBPS-450MBPS. Router is just beside the computer. If i use my iphone I am able to get up to 600MBP currently subscribe to 1GBPS. Is it normal for my pc to only get up to 400-450MBPS, I havent tried using cable yet.
*
Iphone 600mbps? Impossibru.

520-550ish still believeable.

Upgrade ur T9E. it is not 4x4 mu-mimo so theorethically 450mbps is the max u can get (33% of total 1300mbps for 5ghz)

I have 2 lap tops and 1 Surface Pro that supports 5G and can achieve only max 300 Mbps on 5GHz.

On wired now, I just achieved 955Mbps only if I select Time dotcom Bhd server. The rest can only achieve 800+ Mbps.

So I realize that if I select Time dotcom Bhd server, can achieve higher in my lap tops, Surface Pro and Note 9.

Maybe as it gets later, can achieve 1 Gbps... we shall see....
*
Mine even worse. 932mbps on time server, other servers all 650mbps-ish.

My area must be congested as f.

I have bought many ugreen products before....lan adapter for Nintendo Switch, Hdmi to DVi connectors etc.

They are all good quality stuff. Packaging box also nice. Dunno why nobody selling their products in shops locally. And yeah, also got a free Lan cable from one of the items i bought. thumbup.gif

I just read some of the comments for ugreen seller on cat7. It seems like got one guy say the cat7 cannot use for poe. That means the cat7 is not real copper cat7, is what we called CCA cable. The core is aluminium but clad with copper. No wonder so cheap and it is confirmed inferior compared to nornal full copper cat6 cable.

Haiz, i already bought 2 before reading the comment. Hopefully the 20m i ordered is not shitty. Should had paid a bit more to get real copper cat6 product or made my own.

Do you mean most of the cheap cable are sold on the it stores are not legit?

Dang just wasted 50ringgit for cat7 cable lol
*
Very hard to say. Aluminium is a cheaper material compared to copper. Therefore a lot of "china" product clad the aluminium with copper to reduce cost. Safety wise is a hazard as alumium melts easier than copper. Unfortunately the only way to tell this is to cut open the wires and do a burn test. Aluminium will just be like tin foil, once caught fire will wither and melt straight away.

American lan cable such as those commscope or german shneider is 100% copper.

Well, since i already bought 2 myself lets just hope it works and lasts.

Please google CCA lan cable. It will tell u more. It is cheap for a reason and maybe dangerous too. There are many inferior fake lan cables nowadays.

If use for ethernet cable should be ok i guess. Hopefully it delivers.

It think this is make sense since copper is so expensive and the cable is selling so cheap. Anyway i think transmit of data signal should be safe i guess.

Yah but dont forget CCA cables are brittle. Bend extremely and it is likely the cable cannot be used anymore. If can use just use but dont expect it to last super long.
