Forgot to mention my setup is something like:

Router -- cat6 cable -- powerline  ----> powerline -- cat 6 cable --- desktop
*
Remove the powerline from your network. It is very unreliable.

Hey guys, is the Archer C7 sufficient to use for 500Mbps? Looking for around 400Mbps over 802.11ac 5GHz with 2x2 MIMO.
*
Yes, should be enough. But, I highly recommend the C2300 or the C3150.

Suggest you change router rather than use extender or powerline.

I have done some testing and posted the results this morning a few post back.

I use old Aztech 500Mbps powerline adapter. Max can reach about 115Mbps down /120Mbps up over 500Mbps internet. So using a Wifi AC is actually way better in my case as i can reach 2xx Mbps from the same location.

I guess u agree to this now? tongue.gif

It is still better than Wifi-N, but not Wifi-ac. So you have to be more specific. tongue.gif

Time provided AC1200 router with 802.11ac as default configuration, why would anyone comparing 802.11n?
Are you ok?

Yeah removing the powerline setup soon, waiting for the flat cat7 cables from Ugreen to arrive smile.gif

Once they arrive i'll run the flat cables and use double sided tape to put them on the wall, go under the door gap and then to my desktop. By around that time would need to sell of the powerline adapters HAHA

Dude. You think all devices can run on Wifi-AC? Got old laptops, oldpc, old hp, old wifin dongles. Are you ok??
*
That's hilarious for someone who created an account yesterday and comparing ages tech over here, when one explained what would be optimum setup today is capable he then start talk about old devices limitation. Farneee ~ rclxs0.gif

tried out my new archer c2300. still cant get 500Mbps sad.gif
iphone x - results almost same with C1200 - 270down 370up
imac - slightly better at first but after several tries can reach 500/480

at this point i think its not worth it for me to get a better router as my devices cant reach the speed.... sad.gif
*
M thinking still worth to upgrade from tplink ac1200 to ac2300?

This morning I tested out my speeds again with my iPhone X
I can get 500Mbps down and about 300Mbps up

I think if you are getting 200-300Mbps now, you should just wait a bit. And also take stock of your current devices as they may not be able to get these speed. And even if you get 500Mbps, do you really need it?
I kinda regret not getting the Deco M9 instead cause at least with that I can get both speed and range.

I have bought many ugreen products before....lan adapter for Nintendo Switch, Hdmi to DVi connectors etc.

They are all good quality stuff. Packaging box also nice. Dunno why nobody selling their products in shops locally. And yeah, also got a free Lan cable from one of the items i bought. thumbup.gif

I just read some of the comments for ugreen seller on cat7. It seems like got one guy say the cat7 cannot use for poe. That means the cat7 is not real copper cat7, is what we called CCA cable. The core is aluminium but clad with copper. No wonder so cheap and it is confirmed inferior compared to nornal full copper cat6 cable.

Haiz, i already bought 2 before reading the comment. Hopefully the 20m i ordered is not shitty. Should had paid a bit more to get real copper cat6 product or made my own.

I think if you can reach about 300Mbps...not worth it...unless your main download rig is in a location without wired connections and needs better wifi speed.
*
PC wired can get close to 500Mbps no issue.
Wifi can get about 300Mbps if 3 - 4 meters away.
Maybe upgrade also not much significant difference.

Hi, is there anyone got details? I have received email upgraded for free to 500Mbps and I feel like going to downgrade to 100Mbps , BUT ... written in Self Care that Contract Renewal 24 months , and for 500Mbps or 1Gbps is N/A. What does it mean? Is my contract reset / start from 0 (ZERO) again? Thanks in advance
*
Hi everyone could you please help me to answer this? Hahahaa biggrin.gif

Wanna ask are tp link deco M5 works like a repeater? Where the bandwidth throughput performance will cut by half something like that?

TPLink supports 500Mbps "technically".

I believe if you downgrade from 500-100 your contract will be reset to 24Mo,
but if you upgrade to 1Gbps it won't reset. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
However if you already have TPLink C1200 router you will not get the new DLink 882 router upon upgrade.

Usually mesh wifi system will have a backhaul channel with high bandwidth to do all the heavylifting. Your performance won't be cut by half, but will be slightly reduced.

OK that mean better than those repeater on the market. Coz my house layout was the wifi signal needs to penetrate 2 brick wall only reach master bedroom. So I am not sure which option I should go for.

a) Change a better router
b) Use homeplug and setup an AP
c) Mesh wifi like tp link deco m5

Anyone else notice that since the recent upgrade exercise that their router seems to drop the connection more often?

Router has beed rebooted 4 times in the past 3 days to reestablish a connection.

500Mbps in Damansara area, if it's any indication.

Is it true? I received mine on Monday and immediately installed and connected between my router & PC, so far it is working well.
