QUOTE(azinfinity @ Oct 10 2018, 05:07 PM) Constantly getting those speed or it fluctuates? I can get that 800 Mbps speed around 3 out of 10 times. The other 7 times, normally around 600 to 700 Mbps. All on wired.I try to get TIME to replace my router to their D link DIR 882 but i don't think they will help me. I am still getting old speed of 300mbps, even so it barely touch 300, on wired. |

I signed up for 500 Mbps on Oct 1 and installation done on Oct 8 and Time supplied the AC-1200 router. Time announced new upgrade plans on Oct 7. On Oct 8, I was upgraded to 1 Gbps.
I called Time to change the router to DIR-882 and they said because I signed up before Oct 7, I am only eligible for AC-1200 although my upgraded speed now is 1 Gbps. I am only eligible for the free DIR-882 router after 12 months. So, fine. I want to upgrade my router to be able to enjoy the 1 Gbps speed. My options: 1. Purchase from Time through self-care for RM 550-00 and Time come and install. 2. Purchase from outside another brand / model that support 1 Gbps speed and set it up myself. Let's assume budget is not an issue. Question : 1. Obviously (1) is easier and Time will set up for you and ensure it works. If I go for Option 2, how easy to set it up myself? 2. If I am to purchase a new router that supports 1 Gbps, what router should I get that is available in stores (say Low Yat or Mid Valley)? |

I just bought the AC5400X and set-up was easy by just entering the PPOE username and password. I am using a Cat7 cable as well.
Have been doing speedtests in the last hour and highest I achieved was about 600 Mbps. I am on the 1 Gbps plan. On the TP Link AC-1200, I was able to achieve up to 700-800+ Mbps a few times. All tests on wired. Any special settings in the AC5400X that I need to do to make sure I achieve the fastest speed on my AC5400X? Maybe later after midnight may be faster when less users are online. |

Is there a second hand market for TP Link's Archer C1200? It's only a few days old from Time and I want to sell it as I just upgraded my router.

QUOTE(FusionXY @ Oct 11 2018, 12:00 AM) Hi. How's the signal coverage? Able to get full signal on 5GHz in the room? Signal coverage is 5 bars, full signal. On Wifi 5GHz, I can get 325Mbps Download and 473Mbps Upload on my Note 9.Test out what's the maximum speed you can get over 5GHz WiFi. Check whether the Nat boost is enabled. Hope you can give a review of your new router. Thanks. I don't see Nat boost in System Tools-System Parameters.. I only see Enable Nat. Are you referring to "Enable Nat"? Just reached 880 Mbps on wired. |

QUOTE(FusionXY @ Oct 11 2018, 12:35 AM) OK. Thanks for the info. I have 2 lap tops and 1 Surface Pro that supports 5G and can achieve only max 300 Mbps on 5GHz.I think must be that I'm not sure. If you have a laptop which support 5G to test it out. Wanna know whether can achieve 500Mbps on 5GHz Wi-Fi using laptop. Cannot reach 1Gbps? One of the forumer here said can achieve full speed over LAN. Thanks On wired now, I just achieved 955Mbps only if I select Time dotcom Bhd server. The rest can only achieve 800+ Mbps. So I realize that if I select Time dotcom Bhd server, can achieve higher in my lap tops, Surface Pro and Note 9. Maybe as it gets later, can achieve 1 Gbps... we shall see.... |

QUOTE(Proton2.0 @ Oct 11 2018, 05:04 AM) 955Mbps is good lah. It's 95% of rated speed. Nothing to complain. Where got exactly 100% all the time wan...The rest can do less because they probably suck and don't expect to handle such high bandwidth. Yes good lah and not complaining but I want to see 1,000 Mbps once and screen shot it to show off... ha.. ha.. ha..This post has been edited by brandonkl: Oct 11 2018, 08:48 AM |

Speedtests in the afternoon from 1 to 7 pm is generally the slowest as I only get max 500 Mbps. I guess this is the peak hours.

I realized that I need to re-boot my router everyday to achieve 900+ Mbps. If not, I will only achieve 300+ Mbps. After re-boot, I can achieve 900+ Mbps. I am using the AC5400X.

I am on 1 Gbps plan. I am having issue where the speed will drop to 200 to 300 mbps and when I restart my router, it goes up to 900+ mbps. I am using wired, tested with speedtest app on two laptops connected by wired.

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Oct 15 2018, 12:32 AM) Report back to CS, as we do received similar feedback from other customers. There is nothing wrong with your router. I understand that other 1 Gbps users have similar issue because TIME has not fully upgraded their hardware to accommodate 1 Gbps. Currently I believe Time is using 2.5 Gbps uplink, so.... if more than 3 subscribers are on the 1 Gpbs package, 2.5 Gbps uplink will overload. If TIME has not fully upgraded their hardware, then don't inform customers that their speed has been upgraded to 1 Gbps or accept new customers with 1 Gbps. So now I may ask TIME to downgrade me to 500 Mbps and see if the same issue exists. |

Anyone here on 1 Gbps plan using the AC5400X router? Any problems with the speed dropping to 200 to 300+ Mbps and the back to 900+ Mbps after restart router on wired?

I am on 1 Gbps plan .. last two days, speed is always around 700+ mbps ... before that was able to reach 900+ mbps but not last two days.
Somehow I think Time hardware is not able to support all the 1 Gbps subscribers. The lucky ones will have no issue but there's still quite a number of users not being able to achieve at least 900+ Mpbs. All my speedtests are on wired and speedtest Windows 10 standalone app. |
