Edit: It would seem I have mistaken Yew Hoong, he is the Sales Manager instead. Mr.Shahrul Nizam (Branch Manager) has posted in the Kopitiam Thread instead. I have called up Thundermatch Office, and left my phone number.

Helo everyone,

today I share my worse ever experience in being a consumer. Thundermatch cheated a bunch of us buyers in falsely advertising the number of promo units on sale per day!


ThunderMatch (Lowyat) opened a new branch on the 4th floor on Sat, 12th May.

The Exclusive Offers means each person is only entitled to purchase 1 unit. Runs from 11/05/07 till 13/05/07
the offers were:
Dopod: Discount of RM888 off the retail price. (Limited to 8 units PER day)
Samsung: 732N 17" LCD RM399; retail price RM540+ (Limited to 10 units PER day)


Today, I went to queue up at Thundermatch @ 530am in the morning. I was with my Sis n her bf; we were interested in 2 units of the Samsung LCD. When I arrived, there were already 19 people queuing up! After a few quick questions with them, I got a breakdown that 8 ppl are taking Dopods, 3 are taking laptops, and another 8 taking LCD.
This left me with the exact last two spots! thumbup.gif

So I set up my laptop, and waited patiently for ThunderMatch to open @ 11am

At 1030am, the Sales Manager (Yew Hoong) steps out with the coupons, and proceeds to distribute according to the Exclusive Offers each customer wants. The first few fellas take their Dopod coupons. Around the 5th person, a commotion broke out.

It seems this 17year-old girl (who was with her elder sister) wanted to get the Dopod coupon. They were in the fifth position. Unfortunately, the Sales Manager refused, saying on 18 and above. He gave her the LCD coupon instead. The two girls who were queuing from 3am started asking why is there a 18yr-old limit? Branch Manager couldnt answer, instead he says, "Company Rules!". The girls questioned, then why I can buy the LCD instead? He lost his cool and shouted, "DO YOU WANT THE COUPON OR NOT?!"

The girls retorted, that they been queuing up since 3am! And why this silly rule?! Sales Manager replies, "Who ask you queue up so early?!"

He then gave them the LCD coupon, and walked onto the next customer.

Somewhere towards the 9th customer, a commotion broke out again!!
This time, the guy who wants the Dopod (he should get it, since the girl in front missed it anyway), but instead the Sales Manager tells him, "Finished already"
He complains saying "You say 8 coupon, but now not even 7 yet!"
Sales Manager replied "Do you want the LCD Coupon or not?!" with a raised voice.

Sales manager decides to ignore him whilst the poor buyer continues to argue with the other staff.

Then come the 14th customer, a shouting match starts rclxub.gif
"LCD Finished!!", shouts the Sales Manager
But heck, only 6 coupons issued!! Where are the other 4?!

I joined in at this moment, because me and the last 6 buyers couldnt get a unit! Everyone was damn pissed as we calculated the number of units exactly!! Now suddenly some coupons are missing?!
Now at this point, the Sales Manager takes a "stoned" composure. He gives u blank look, and refuses to answer questions.

All of us buyers were fuming! Only the 4-5 dopod buyers got wat they wanted. Those who couldnt get the dopod, took the LCD coupon, depriving us who wanted the LCD in the first place!!!


Points to Think About
1. A SALES MANAGER can abuse his authority for personal gain?
2. A SALES MANAGER can go around shouting at customers?!
3. How do you justify your customer's time who queued for 6-9 hours for your promo, only to realise that they dont have those items?!



This is really angers me! You could imagine the commotion with 15+ customers hurdling around the Sales Manager and his staff. His attitude and response to us was totally unfit! If you cannot provide that number of units, then dont advertise!!

Thundermatch, please buck up and improve.

everyone knows thundermatch is fast becoming the next Sri Computers.

only thing is thundermatch is backed by some very "questionably wealthy owners" (if u know what i mean), unlike sri comp. so thundermatch can do whatever the hell it wants with its customers without fearing any repercussions. (heard all this through word of mouth). sweat.gif

the main reason y im so sick of this is because the BRANCH MANAGER should be the 1 controlling the coupons / promo sale, to prevent any abuse

but it seems he himself is abusing it instead

Now if we cant trust the head of the Branch, would you even want to bring your business there?

its just a technique to draw ppl anyway ....

thundermatch isnt the only 1, i can say that even most of the lucky draw,event, watever u can think of ... are like that, the manager, anyone in charge, will just give back those "so call" promotional items, gifts, watever to their friends, families, cronies ................

even BIG company like M$ (im talking malaysia branch) are like that -.-

shakehead.gif thundermatch has been in my blacklist 4 a long time.

but yesterday my uncle & aunt were quite lucky both of them each get a dopod at RM888 (1 x M700 & 1 x D810), they told me they r queue no. 6 & 7.

i only manage to get myself RM1 for 10 pieces of egen cdr. there are quite a lot of ms webcam coupon. since it's too expensive, nobody even cares to take it.

Lowyat does not pull the shutters at night. Instead they have guards stationed at the front entrance + lift. They are already well-aware why we were there at such hours, and let us go up to Thundermatch's outlet.

The people who were real early (first 18, to get the 8 dopod + 10 LCD), came in groups. Everyone was pretty well prepared with drinks, games and reading material
Toilets were open, so if they went, they still have frens to hold the queue
Frankly im very proud to say that no one tried to cut queues at the first 18. Everyone was pretty happy and relaxed, until the Sales Manager says they were out of coupons!

I cant really understand you, but on Sunday, the first person to arrive was @ 230am, whilst I was the LCD buyer, who arrived @ 530am




Btw, here's an update for everyone
I just got off the phone with Mr.Shahrul Nizam
1. He very quickly explained that the dopod buyers may be repeat buyers, therefore depriving other potential buyers. He will check with the CCTV.
2. The issue of 17 years old cannot buy was actually more due to the girl being unable to provide her IC.
3. He himself is unaware that possibly 4 units (or more) of LCD coupons went missing on Sunday.

They will have a meeting at 5pm. He promised to contact me again after he is done with their internal meeting.

My questions are such:
1. If they bother to check IC, why didnt they record it to stop repeat buyers?
2. Why do you want some1 to present their IC, if you dont record it? You want to verify the person is malaysian?? Jeez, there were a group of 3 Indian nationals queuing behind me to buy laptops. Will they be turned away?
3. Y is the control of coupons so poorly done? Do they not understand that it's (RM888 x 8) + (RM150 x 10)?? Yeah that's RM8604!! Times it with 3 days, u get a whopping RM25812!! Enough for a new Viva or Saga sleep.gif"


We havnt even started talking about the shouting match between the Sales Manager and the customers. Trust me, red faces aplenty should they show out the CCTV footage at their 5pm meeting.

Personally, I don't think this thread is from Czone staff. Though I'm not sure who Adrian Lo is, I guess he must be the guy sitting in front of the handphone shop watching 'Heroes' on his laptop. And right behind him in the queue were 3 Indian guys playing cards. There were another 3 or 4 ppl playing cards on the handphone counter. To be frank, I was there at 6am. Got in via the carpark lift without bumping into any security guards. When I saw the queue, I left immediately with my bro. Damn! These guys beat me to it. Might as well go home and get some rest.

Yes, i was the 1 with the laptop; dammit everything was screwed up from day 1.

They have great ideas, intentions and promos for their launching. But poor execution and 2 bad apples spoilt everything. Sorry to say that Thundermatch.

I've never worked at Lowyat before, although I used to frequent the place a lot during my college days..

Yes, It would seem some of the customers queuing up were indeed staff from another tenant in lowyat.
But to me, it should not be an issue as they are coming as customers, not as the tenant themselves, buying and then reselling at their own shop.
Anyhow, I cannot comment from the business rivalry point of view. This is beyond the scope of this thread.

hmmm just wanna share my experience at thundermatch level 4 which is similar to sricomp/allIT.

well still got few nice person in thundermatch such as the speaker section guy and his supervisor who's 1 leg is crippled at the moment both very nice. bought edifier speaker but it wont work with the creative decoder and they allow me to exchange with another creative speaker 2 days later.

It's good to hear that you are not the staff from another shop. Because for me, a rival can do anything just to mock another shop and it's really a dirty trick to embarassed your competitor.

Heard from my friend that Thundermatch once used to sell a number of cheap LCD....however they didnt state that clearly on the stock that these LCD were used for 3 days in certain Cybergames and then Thundermatch bought all those LCD and sold as "NEW"....

As long as it is cheap, who cares? Morever, I believe WCG uses good quality and branded hardware. I believe it is Samsung used for WCG if not mistaken.

Thundermatch really suck!!
I went n bought a gra. card from them at pc fair years ago.
Reached home found out that it was broken.
Next dah went n ask for exchange at their shop.
They said they never sell this kind of gra. card... Whut da hell.
Showed them the reciept summore..
Then i ask for a new one..
The store manager said no more stock..!!
I was so pissed off..
He ended returning up my money -10% of the cost I bought.
I fought over it..
He dare to ask me take it or leave it...
I had no choice.. have to take back my money..
Since then.. I never been to their shop again..
Whut a kaki tipu la!!.....
Hope they get rotten in hELL>..

Line up & wait for so many hours & from 3.00am just for a few hundred ringgit cheaper & some more got blasted by the Thundermatchs' Staff. It is a pure sales gimmick & hapless folks were made to look like fools or beggars. And everyone knows that beggars do not have a choice. Be pragmatic like this:-

Sadly, I don't have anything postive to say about Thundermatch Lvl 4 while buying a wireless headphone from them. The sales assistant was a noob (totally blur on what products Thundermatch are selling) up to the point I knew more about the products that he did.

short summary :
1.bought lappy
2. got a tiny drawing on its box indicate the lappy got dead pixel
3.they cover the drawing with a window xp sticker
4 i noticed the dead pixel n the drawing on the box
5. took plenty of difficulties untill i manage to exchange the lappy

Sorry to hear about TS's experience.

I also bought a GC (7300GT) at an earlier PC Fair this year. Turns out it was also bad. Took pictures of the screen corruption etc, and brought it back to the shop (a small shop located on Imbi ground floor). No stock, but was given option to either full refund or trade up. So, I opted for a 7600GT instead (after topping up some cash). Good experience and no questions asked.

As for Thunder Match, I usually give them a complete miss because I find that the sales people have a screwed-up attitude. I am definitely NOT a n00b and have some money to spend, so I will easily take my business elsewhere.

Look for Robyncom instead. Even if they do not have the parts, the guys will go a bit out of the way to find them for you.

1. Bought LCD from Thundermatch Level 4
2. Found out got 2 dead pixels
3. Next day tried to return, but got rejected and said LCD with 7pixels only can be returned.

What I did.
1. On the spot demanded for a 1 to 1 exchange since it's only less than 24 hour purchase
2. 1to1 exchange got turned down. I called my family friend who is an office in Jabatan Jenayah Kommercial on the spot.
3. Still got rejected. Call my dad's company lawyer for advice.
4. Finally, police came. Exchange a new LCD.

BUT...went back home, still got 1 dead pixel....sigh~ i malas wana go through all that again...

Wow, that's some hassle to exchange an LCD!

I don't blame you, because even 1 dead pixel is sickening and ruins the experience you get with an LCD.

guys, this is the only shop i go when looking for comp. stuffs. one of the reasons is some of their goods cheaper than others.
spent almost 30k buying stuffs from tm, only 1 sent for warranty claim. (WD Hardisk) no hussle at all, when i pre-order something, it will arrive on time.
its not that i stood for them, just sharing my good experience dealing with them.

i had one fren who has been working at TM for a yr, he told me that they supply pc's for cybercafes and they gave them used harddisk and pass them as a new one on the new pc. this is one of the unethical things that i had heard about them. tat is why, i had never bought anything from that place and whenever i heard about their name, the '2nd hand hdd as new one' really came out of my mind.

currently my company got the accessories from them and i already advice them to change the supplier. but then, it is up to u all to trust me or not la.....i am jus telling u all what i knew, decision is up to u

I bought some stuff cost around rm3k in November at Thunderhai JB branch.
Not much difficulties for that purchase, but still wasted a lot of phone call to ask them to order msi 8800gt from HQ.
Ordered all the stuff on Monday, called them a few times to make sure everything is there after Thursday.
I went to their shop on Saturday from Pontian(which takes around 2hours), on the way i gave them a call but they told me gc not yet arrived....i was like wtf because i'm on the halfway to JB. mad.gif
luckily the gc arrived just in time before i step into their shop.
the first scenario ended quite ok...


last monday, i called JB thundermatch to order one msi mobo from HQ cause they don't have the stock.
the branch boss(a malay guy) said ok, the board will be there by this saturday.
i called them again next day, a chinese guy(wee sheng) told me the board is there.
i was surprised cause the board arrive so fast. Then he promised me will reserve the board for me.
Today i give them a call when i was on the way to JB, the chinese guy told me they already sold it to other customer.
I was so pissed off shakehead.gif
i questioned their boss why sold the board reserved to me at their shop.
he answered because of some internal miscommunication.
he also told me the fastest way will be order another one on next monday and ship it direct to my address.
estimated arrival time should be next wednesday.
then i ask can gimme discount because of this problem...the boss replied the shipping cost no charge you good already. doh.gif

i also reckon that they sold to me 2nd hand parts...coz 2 items(250gb hdd and asus mobo) i bought from them have to send for warranty...i have never experienced so many hardware failures in my life....however, it could be argued that it was a coincidence...

apart from that...the TM branch in digital mall wanted to charge me rm50 for the service charge for sending in my mobo for RMA (as i bought it 1 over year ago) which is quite absurd as other shops only "dare" charge me 30 bux only....the TM workers are also quite incompetent...making me go on a wild goose chase trying to send in my mobo to ASUS for RMA...(making me drive all the way down to the asus service centre near LYN only to be told by the service centre workers that they do not handle mobos and they requested me to send back to shop i bought from...then i called TM up and they directed me to the local distributor only to be told by the local distributor that they do not deal with end users.... doh.gif in the end, i sent it to another shop that charged me 30 bux only)

Wow...on the 31st Dec only I notice there is a Thundermatch shop at Lv 4....I nvr been to dat level dat very often unless I need to send for warranty at CYCOM (my fav shop). When I passed by, it seems the workers are more than the customers... laugh.gif

My number 1 blacklist shop is SriComp...but I think from all ur reviews I think this shop hv the good potential to beat Sri. biggrin.gif
If I were you I will just report it at Jabatan PENGGUNA.

I bought a bluetooth headset from there. The main purpose for me to purchase this is to allow me listen to MP3 wirelessly. When I buy dat time, the salesman said can support any devices including my K800i which I din bring dat day for testing. Since he said like dat, I buy lor....
But when I got home the bluetooth headset only able to + or - the volume...cannot press play or pause...dun even say prev or next button ler...So I immediate bring back to change within 7 days because I live quite far. As expected, the other salesman said the tin cannot support K800i...den I asked him ur colleague told me it can worked so I demand for money return because there are no other bluetooth headset dat can support K800i for me to exchange. Another as expected, he claimed that his boss not allowed money return. I'm already started to show my dissatisfaction on him as I told him no use for me to buy a thing dat cant work. He insisted and hold firm with his words. So I immediately got to Jabatan Pengguna at The Mall to make report. The first time I feel government is quite effective at Jabatan Pengguna. Within 2 weeks, I and the company already received a court letter to attend court session. At this time, the company start to show their effectiveness, they called me right away and refund to me in CASH. Hehe...and they begged me to write a letter to withdraw my complaint.

I understand my case is notin to do with TM but I just wan to let you guys know Jabatan Pengguna is very effective and help us as a customer a lot!!! rclxms.gif

Not all staff actually..I hate the most is the Malay long hair guy who is incharge in the speaker dept. Whatever I asked got discount or not, he will just say no...with a vr bad attitude...coz at dat time he was listening to his fav song played in one of the speakers displayed. Hey guys, is there such a regulation as physical damage must change on spot???? Isn't it 1 week 1 to 1 exchange basis??????
This is wat I was told by those stupid and shit attitude staffs and supervisor. vmad.gif

On 20/1/08, I bought a Samsung widescreen 931bw LCD from thunder match at 4th floor, Plaza Low Yat. Unfortunately, after I brought it back, i discovered that there was a scratch on the screen of the LCD but it is too late for me to travel down from PJ to the shop to exchange it on the same day.

As a result, on 26/1/08 , i brought back the scratch Samsung LCD back to the shop to exchange it because I was busy working and when I got to the section selling samsung lcd I was attended by one of the staff by the name of Ejay his attitude was totally like shit............when I stood in front of him, with that lazy shit attitude he asked me anything? Then I told him there was a scatch on the screen, however wat he did was just sit there not moving n told me I cannot get it exchanged , later on only this bum move his heavy ass from the chair to ask his one of a kind supervisor to talk to us when we insist on speaking to his superior .As per our understanding, it should be a 7 days hand to hand exchange basis for the computer products that we have purchased, but your staff Ejay not only refused to change and his attitude was very rude. He didn't even willing to help and keep on saying that we are trying to tell lies.

I totally dissapointed with the services provided by the staff, after wasting so much time talking to Ejay, we insisted to talk to the superior, finally the supervisor Kenneth Lim came. The superior attitude is totally the same as Ejay, he did not even allow us to speak and accused of making stories. Is it the way how they trained the staff to behave like that to the customers ??? I just do not understand what kind of customer service that company provided to the customers, Kenneth keep on asking us to listen to him whenver we tried to speak. He told us that we are not allowed to exchange any of the products due to physical damage after we had purchase the products and take it back. Physical damage must change on spot????? Is this their company rules and policies???is it true? Besides, he argued that we should have known that there is no exchange policy even though the producs are damaged. How do we kow about that since we were not told about that on the we purchased the products. MOREOVER HE TOLD US!!!!! sometimes shops dat actually mahal abit had no return item.

its not dat im in bothside .. but dats d ratio of all.

sometimes i shopping at thundermatch also because my friends work there...lucky i never face problem like u all..haha smile.gif)..if im out station i just order by phone and they will send the goods by mail..no problem at all.

but refer to your case, doesn't u check 1st before u leave? because im always ask technical to test for me 1st. if ok i take it, if not i will ask new one...

I dun think Thundermatch is provided bad service like disccuss above, i went to thundermatch bought many products many times, even many set of PC. Eveytime i went to there the 1st person i am looking is Kenneth Lim(Trusted person) because he provide a good service and very friendly to me

So far they didn't create me any unsolvedable a issue.

For my advice here, no all product from factoty is 100% quality. Pls check it and ensure it working before paid. i always do this.

I did ask the salesperson to play it. But with the movie on, its dark cant really see it. Like when i playing dota, i cant see it also. However when i enter window coz the color is brighter then the cut is very obvious or when i open word etc with light color, can see the cut.

After some time only he moved his heavy ass to ask his superior. The service that he is providing really............. There are 2 salesman at that LCD corner. 1 is AH CHIT if I not wrong, he is fine. The other 1 which i go to, "Ejay" haiz totally sux........
I have to argue for 1 hour lidat only get it exchanged.
My sis sent a complain letter, complaining the poor services they r providing. But still havent got any reply.....

ya... not the problem they exchange or not, is their attitude.
this kind of service cant survive in these days(cantonese).

but most of the ppl are like tat, especially kl ppl.
even though cycom, the so call good reputation shop, which i have to deal with on so many yrs back 2001, when i take back my mouse to them and claim its a defect unit.
the staff can laugh like the item is too cheap to repair and say he went to japan for mouse repair trainning.
is this a good attitude?

TM when i go buy some staffsr ok. But when i wana go back for warranty,1 of the malay staff attitude like shit the supervisor also @.@
pczone oklo. The salesman quite friendly n when the brand i wan they dun have. He didnt try to promote other product, instead he said i can purchase from other shop.

because one of my brother's friend who worked there as part timer, say that they received so many complain and criticism everyday, they become so hostile to most of the customers as they think the customers got hidden agenda towards them. This is what i've heard la...

Woahh... So many bad experience with Thundermatch oo...

I recall some of the forumers saying about outdated knowlegde of the staff. Well, i've experienced it. Although it is not as severe or terrible as the others may have experienced. Here's how it goes:

Last friday, i went around LYP to search 4 best price quote 4 my 1st (yup, 1st) rig. then i went to TM, i talked to this sales person named Zaid (that's what on his nametag). He was quite nice actually, not being rude at all. Except for his "frozen" look, call it stoneface, if u will. I requested for a cheap mobo that can support sli. He did the right job though, selecting asus p5-n... something... (Pls correct me on that). But then he asked me

"Nak graphic card ATI ke NVIDIA?"

EHH??? I oledi told i want mobo with sli maa.. y ask want ati or nvidia?

so i said to him,

"Eh, saya nak SLI, of cos la nvidia"

he replied,

"eh, betul jugak eh.."

After that, everything went well, and he gave me a price quote that was quite ok.

I am not able to give any bad remarks abt TM now (not that i wanted to), i haven't received such bad treatment yet. And maybe zaid learned sumthing new tat day, so HOPEFULLY he won't repeat the same embarassing mistake.

Indeed, Thundermatch staff is terrible. I just went there and bought quite a number of item from the shop, while choosing and looking at what I wanted, everything went out well until the time I had to pay.

The cashier is really rude because she was the only one working and I bought quite a number of items, she was so frustrated to key in my item cause I requested that one of the item I bought hav discount if I bought two of it which was told by one of their staff. When I told the cashier, she showed me stupid faces cause that price did not appear in the cashier screen. Then she shouted out saying who gave such a rate for the price, but who knows, that price was given few days ago when I went there but didnt manage to buy the product because they were closing at 9pm. There's another staff which was good enough went into the office to check the price but he didnt manage to get the right code and he was also scolded by her! LOL, cant she be a bit polite to her own colleague.

Due to my long wait and I was in a hurry, I gave up on taking that price and say that I'll take the original price. She started to speak rudely due to the long queue. But finally some guy from the office came out and key in some codes, he manage to give me the price I mention. The cashier's name is ALIZ NATASYA and I dont understand why she should speak rudely to her customer, I was just trying to buy my things, pay and leave.

As for my opinion, the shop was quite good and they do sell a lot of things and make us easy to choose the things we want in one shop without walking around the whole low yat just to buy a few items. It's like all in one in the shop. But too bad, their staff is crappy.

I thought I was the only one treated like crap in that shop until I saw this forum topic. I guess it's common that the thunder match ppl misuse their authorities.

finaly, i found this post.
i have a story 2 share wit all of the forum.lowyet.net user, which related wit the thunder match.
for the previous pc fair, my fren were invited my one of his fren to work as part time in the pc fair.
selling pda is thier main job over there. and the company was our lovely thunder match, lowyat lvl4.

In the traning for the pc fair, my fren was told that the salary is rm90 per day, and the commision is rm5 per pda, and if who hit the target of 10 pdas, they will change the commision from rm5 to rm10 each pda.

These was attractive.

Reach the day which is my fren going to collect the basic salary. They reach the thunder match which located at lowyat lvl 4, and the person incharge just pay them rm60, and the reason is rm90 is the salary which included wit commsion type. ok, this time cheated ady, we dont mind. We still got commision.

The worst part reached.
2day my fren going the same place to collect the commsion, oh gosh...
all of the commsion being cut roughly 50%.
original rm60 commsion being cut till rm27.5
original rm240 commsion being cut till rm110

The reason: "some of the pdas were sold with losses, so those pdas are not calculate included as commisionable."

my fren told me that thunder match is count as a large company at first, and i dont believe him. i decide to search this company with google, until i c this post in google at the first result page.

hmm.. currently dealing rma with thundermatch,

my faulty lcd, send it to thundermatch digital mall, the staff said ok, we will try my best.
then after waiting about a month, they call me said the lcd is back, can take it oredi.

the staff said actually the lcd was never repaired, because their technical support at lowyat said the lcd is ok, no problem at all.

i fell bad about this, then ask them to check it again. after checking, the lcd still in faulty condition, so they need to send it back to lowyat, and tell me to wait for another 2 weeks(end next week). he said we cannot give u back with faulty condition.

lets see what happen then. this proved that their technical support is not quiet good in dealing with faulty monitor. as long as the lcd can show image, then its ok la, not faulty. sweat.gif

if ur staff at lowyat read this and got faulty monitor returned from digital mall pj, then i suggest u test it using dpt(dead pixel tester) software to see what the problem really is. hopefully u all can get it repaired/change new the lcd on time.

For me TM level 4 security guard is the main flaw...very big and scary like hollywood artist bodyguard.

Thats untrue..sometime the coin drop at the locker. Your friend maybe not notice it. The locker is standard..

All IT the guard nicer. I once went in TM with my laptop bag the guard say "Oi! Bag!" and point to locker. I straight turn around and went off. Actually wanted to buy Memory Stick there but I went to All IT and buy it. Even if it's cheaper in TM I won't go there at all. Treat ppl like sampah like that. Not once I kena "oi!", got once also I kena from the worker there. mad.gif

My fren n i bought a rig at thundermatch lowyat but the pc tend to restart after few hour boot on. (around Sunday)

We r from shah alam n went to thunder match LOWYAT after fail to claim warranty at Plaza Alam Sentral Shah Alam. (reason bcoz my fren pc stuff bought at lowyat branch) ^&%*^$#@!

My fren n i go to their service cntre@lowyat to check my fren rig around 5pm friday (mybe last week, claim 6days after purchase). Suspect ram or mobo. After 30mins test, its ram that problem. My fren's is 2GB. Then the worker go inside the shop n take a new ram to replace the fail 1. But the stupid worker give us 1GB!!!! We only noticed after we went home. ^&%* $hit!

wow after read this long thread, i do realized something is not right with TM. Luckily i hv never encountered any this kind of problems sweat.gif.

i knew most of the bosses of LYP IT/Mobile shops due to same earlier business dealings with them. most of them are nice fellows. maybe the business style is kind of different. perhaps thier downlines (staff) is otherwise.

fine, i only buy stuff with one LYP shop way years back. service excellent! icon_rolleyes.gif

I have read through some of your postings and it seems many of you have some bad experience with Thundermatch. I am a far relative of the owner and have known him for more than 10 years, even before he became rich. For him, it is a rags to riches story. He work very very hard to be at where he is today. I have to admit the customer treatment which some of you get is really really bad but please do not turn your backs towards the shop. Give them a second chance.

Every shop/ company you go to has its pros and cons. I suppose in this case, the fast-expanding of the company itself has led the top managers to forget the most essential part of their business - customer service. I would definitely speak to him regarding this matter. Don't expect any changes to happen overnight though.

I would also like to say sorry on behalf of ThunderMatch (not that it is going to change anything or any of your mindsets). I do not get any benefits from doing this but after reading some of the bad treatments some of you had......the minimal thing I could do now is apologize.

I was about to go to TM tomoro to buy a Samsung LCD 2233BW 22" and Asus P5Q Pro mobo coz by comparing thru the online pricelists, they are cheapest in TM. But.. to hell with their low prices, i'm heading to PC Zone for the LCD and to Viewnet for the mobo now instead.

What I am going to tell you is what I've xprience with thundermatch. I assembled my own clone PC mostly part of it I bought with thundermatch. Once I bring it home It seems that the mobo (xtreme series) which have built-in sound card was faulty. I sent it back for repair & the staff said it will send to the manufacturer (Intel) for repair. Then about more than a week they call me to get my mobo (its heards like already repair) & once I got home and tested IT STILL FAULTY! It just like the y didn't sent for repair.Tired of going back & forth, lucky me still have my old Creative sound card that still works. I do talk to the staff about it by replacing with the same other mobo but they reluctant about it. Cannot do this cannot do that.. lack of info on computer things..

PLEASE BUY PC OR ANY PART OF IT FROM OTHER STORE & DON'T GO TO THUNDERMATCH OR YOU'LL BE SORRY!

I have the same experience few years ago. Bought a switch from them. Faulty so send for RMA, then asked me to collect weeks later, only to discovered it's still the same. After that never go buy anything from there again. TOTALLY BANNED.

do you know , a moment ago I heard the news said that customer can complain if they charging you surcharge.. that why the stop implement the surcharge

all knew allready if tm offers certain product cheapest compare to other shop, my way it is , just take out the price from TM then show to other shop that they selling same product, If can get chance maybe you can purchase more cheaper to tm ,

what I did before in yr 2007 , im was looking ocz ram , the viewnet sell the ram cost rm230, but the thundermatch sell around rm180, so I takeout tm price list then show to viewnet, then i can same price as TM.
why I prefer viewnet because their services very good in terms of getting warranty, sells person was okay,

I tell you guys.. This thread was posted three years ago and sadly I only saw it recently. I should have checked before I bought a laptop from this horrible company's outlet in Digi Mall, PJ.
The staff were sweet when I was buying the set but when I went home and found wrong accessories given to me, I went back to have it changed. That is when the staff became monsters.
There is this supervisor, a fat sloppy looking fella who treated me like a prisoner when I had spent more than RM2k just hours earlier.
He refused the exchange initially but later agreed but gave me inferior replacements.
My advise to Malaysians, STAY AWAY FROM THUNDERMATCH AT ALL COSTS!! If you have to spend a bit more at another place with good after sales service, then do so but just don associate yourselves with these thieves!! I and hundreds of others have fallen victim, I hope you do not become another. Remember, it is us who keep them in business, so teach them a lesson and cut them off..

the price displayed for PC accessories are cash price ... meaning , if u wanna get it using credit card , u will need to pay special "credit card" price , which is apparently more expensive than cash price of course doh.gif

i went to thundermatch 2nd floor to purchase amd x3 425 n d guy there gav me already use proc... dam.... i onli notice it after i went bc.... crap. btw, i went there think around 6-7pm on 3rd june 2010 ..

Hello boxer07,

All retailers in Malaysia are charged a certain percentage by the bank, for all credit card transactions. Generally retailers either disguise this charge with higher prices, or charge it back to the customer as a 2% creditcard surcharge. There is no "special credit card price", simply the normal price plus x% charges (referring to retailers in general, not specifically Thunder Match)

Very true - all customers should always check their items before leaving the shop. Our Salespeople are after all, only human and can make mistakes. We as retailers would never want to cheat our customers since obviously that is bad business practice. No point earning extra RM100 from that person but losing RM100,000 worth of business when complaints start flowing in.

By the way I would appreciate if you guys could reply in the official Thunder Match LYN Feedback Thread as this thread is very old and has been long resolved.

just found this thread,i got sometime buy some accesories from tm long time ago so far no complain.

but shifted to viewnet recently as they offer better price and very fast rma,sometime even 1 to 1 exchange after 1weeks and willing to match competitor price if there are able to.

obviously, those company who keep growing, their management/ services level will become worst each day cus by majority complaint by consumer, they open so many branch at different place with many different personality staff...we cant blame TM instant but we can blame cus their branch manager didnt look after their staff ...

my advise, since TM cant control over their staff in different outlet,
then, Their HQ in lowyat plaza shuld become the best of their after-sale service for their entire shop-let ...

seem, HQ already like tat, then how their other outlet learn from it????

Bad serivce.

I wanted to buy an Asus N55 during the Pikom PC fair and I found out that I cant swipe my credit card because my limit is below the price rm2799 even when I opt of easy instalment. So I chose to deposit RM100 so I can get the same package as PC fair and it will be send to Aeon Bukit Tinggi in 3-4 days time. I was at PC fair on Sunday. I urgently needed the laptop for work and was hoping to be able to get my hands on the laptop by thursday latest.

I didnt get a call from anyone on thursday, so I called Aeon bukit Tinggi today (friday) to check if my laptop has arrived. The person picked up dont know anything, and I ask what can I do about it, and he say he dont know cause they will ONLY KNOW IF GIVEN ORDERS. (Excuse me, cant you call your HQ and Check?!) I didnt wanted to give them a hard time so I just call HQ in Times Square and enquire.

I was even furious calling Times square, They also say they not sure and ask me to wait for their call once the laptop has arrive. So I ask when will it arrive, should be monday cause we dont open on week ends (Excuse me, your shop is in malls, malls open 7 days a week) Even if your Driver dont work on weekends, you should have sent it during the week days so I can collect it on the weekends.

I ask what can i do now. They say they will check, take down my details and say will call back. I ask when will you call back? they say asap. I ask Asap means when? By today? they say yeah.

I will be extremely unhappy with the service if he dont call me back today. I will also be unhappy if I cant get my laptop by this week end because I also have a job to complete. Do you think it takes 5 minutes to install all my software needed?

So I finally got my call back and they say shipping delay (why did some else tell me that finance department haven process?) The latest can reach Aeon Bukit Tinggi Klang is next Wednesday. (Are you kidding me? Is bad enough I have to wait till monday and now you are telling me to wait longer?) I mean really, can't you get someone to send personally to Aeon bukit tinggi? Is like a freaking must to wait for your lorry? So only you lorry driver can drive?

They can afford to tell me this, if want faster have to go to times square to get it on monday. I am like excuse me, the reason of me paying deposit is as agreed for you to send the laptop to Klang. Who is going to pay for my travelling fee?

I ask for benefit compensation, nice, a wireless mouse. What am I going to do with the wireless mouse? In fact I hate wireless mouse, are you going to give a lifetime of triple A batteries for the wireless mouse?

I think the only good thing is that their staff know how to apologies sincerely and speak nicely to their customers. Not all of their staffs, some don't know anything and didn't even suggest to help me up.

Thunder Match technology, you better do something about your service as I know I am not the only one. There are so many complaints. Even if you have the largest amount of branches in Malaysia, you are still not the leading company when your service is not up to standard.

and the 2% credit card surcharge shoud be bear by the seller but not the buyer....
