This is a postpaid plan. I called Hotlink CS, they told me need to pay GST 6% for this plan only for 1st bill, after that no more GST.

I took the package with spotify. No throttle speed.
Downside is need to enable VPN. Otherwise it will deduct ur main data from 4gb.

Digi live prepaid internet plan RM38 already offers sort of unlimited calls (500 mins digi, 500mins other telcos) and 4 GB data + 2.5GB youtube-music / week.

But Rm30 for unlimited calls/sms + 1 GB data is very good price for low data users.

Unlikely.

The aim of this plan is to encourage prepaid users to convert to postpaid plan, which has lower churn rates. If you look at Maxis plan, their prepaid is tailored in such a way that it

i. gives you lots of data at RM35- Rm45 range, but expensive call rates
ii. gives you unlimited call/sms at RM30, but limited data
ii. give you both unlimited calls/sms and lots of data for plan > RM55

It looks like the RM55 plan (unlimited calls/sms + 6 Gb data) is the cheaper version of East Malaysia Maxisone RM68 plan ( unlimited calls/sms + 10 GB data)

well there are ways to circumvent this, but it's very troublesome...

need to separate supplementary line then convert maxis postpaid, then port out to other telco. Wait 1 month cool-off period, port back to Hotlink postpaid.

the lesser plan the better, less confusion.

at the same time, as a maxis user, better that maxis have less customers, so less congestion.

A fair comparison should be :
Hotlink Postpaid Flex
RM55/month = 6GB + unlimited calls + unlimited SMS

Hotlink Fast
RM60 = 8GB all day + 8GB weekend + unlimited calls + free social

Hotlink Red
RM60 = 8GB all day + unlimited calls + free social

Data is undoubtedly very important these days but calls and SMS still have their own value depending on one’s lifestyle and profession. The new Hotlink Postpaid Flex is good for people who don’t really need a lot of data and who do not hook on to Facebook or WhatsApp all the time. This plan after all, is still RM5 cheaper than Hotlink Fast and Hotlink Red with similar offerings.

Anyway, overall it is good that Maxis is trying to cater to consumers of all segments.

This Hotlink Flex plan is cater for those who TALK more and SURF less. This plan add-on package only given 5GB of data per month which I think is utterly nonsense in current competitive market. They should given more options such as 20GB, 30GB or 100GB for us to choose instead of given a peanut 5GB of data which is worst than their current Hotlink RED plan. Stupid decision making for coming out this plan.

DIGI INFINITE 150 - Unlimited Data and Tettering + Unlimited Calls = Excellent
CELCOM FIRST PLATINUM PLUS - 100GB Data + 100GB VideoWalla + Unlimited Social Chat + Unlimited Calls = Good
MAXIS PLAN 188 - 60GB Data + Unlimited Calls = Worst

The reason they do not offer a 20GB, 30GB or 100GB add-on is because they do not want to cannibalise their own MaxisONE Plan. But of course, if you are in East Malaysia, the MaxisONE Plan 68 definitely is a very competitive plan.

I think Maxis has made it quite clear that they will not compete on price but quality. DiGi Infinite Plan is cheap but it’s not the plan for everyone. And as more people sign up for DiGi Infinite Plan and abuse it like no tomorrow, it puts a huge burden on DiGi’s network and that is not good for DiGi subscribers. I’m a very long time DiGi user. DiGi sometimes is good and sometimes not. I am using Maxis too and stability wise, Maxis easily beats DiGi hands down.

As for Celcom. Celcom is like the most complained telco in Malaysia after U Mobile biggrin.gif

Ok. Digi target and maxis target are different. But for me I would prefer maxis. Coz it is unlimited all net. As for data. Get another sim just for data. Digi prepaid data is the best so far. No one can fight I dunno know about u mobile. As my areas no service.

Maxis center customers service told me cannot change supplementary line to hotlink red , then to hotlink flex. They said got GST charge as it is postpaid.

Well I’ll stay away from this until I got more clarity , and for maxis to make up its mind whom they allow to sign up to this plan.

Maxis doesn’t charge any stamp duty for new Postpaid registration.
RM30 is said to be a nett subscription fee. It means the monthly commitment fee of RM30 for Hotlink Postpaid Flex is already inclusive of GST.
*
Meaning thus postpaid Flex is already include gst in the rm 30 ? That mean I no need add gst?

According to Alexleow81, yes. The RM30 is already inclusive of GST.

Anyway, I re-read his post. He wasn't clear if it is included or it is going to be included. So there could be a chance that the 6% GST is not yet included. Better clarify with Maxis again.

Maxis center customers service told me cannot change supplementary line to hotlink red , then to hotlink flex. They said got GST charge as it is postpaid.

Well I’ll stay away from this until I got more clarity , and for maxis to make up its mind whom they allow to sign up to this plan.

There is a chance that they can't purposely change your current Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Prepaid just so you can change to Hotlink Postpaid Flex. One can try to change to Hotlink Prepaid first, and only go back to Maxis Centre to change to Hotlink Postpaid Flex next time.

Digi has much better plan at RM38/month, with 4 Gig data, almost unlimited calls , 10 gig youtube, 5 gig music freedom. and it's prepaid with all the flexibility.

If currently on the old rm50 postpaid plan, need to convert to prepaid then convert again to flex?

QUOTE
Can I upgrade my quota if my pre-allocated Mobile Internet data depletes before the end of the bill cycle?

Yes, you can purchase exclusive Internet passes for your Hotlink Postpaid via the UMB menu (*100#) or the MyMaxis App (https://www.hotlink.com.my/m).
Here are the available passes:
5GB (Auto-renew) @ RM25
5GB (One-time) @ RM30
1GB (One-time) @ RM10
1GB/day (One-time) @ RM5

Can anyone who've subscribed check is the rm 10 in the app? 30+10 should be enough for my usage.

Their main strategy is to eliminate Hotlink Fast Customers besides targeting new customers.

If you take to twitter Maxis officially says it allows migration from its Postpaid product to Hotlink so it's up to you to take it up with higher management. Once moved to prepaid you can then migrate to Flex.

Having said that, move to Flex only if you need no data or close to none. I moved from Digi Voice 38 to Flex 30. I could not finish my 1 gig data in 30 day with Digi but with Flex, 500mb already sapu in 4 days!

Not that they are cheating, but they charge in block usage so even if you use a few bytes, there will be a minimum and smart phones of today with multiple apps do that a few hundred times...

Not possible find everything equipped at no charges as telco is not NGO.

Indeed Ookyo provides a super competitive plan. Maxis should have just made Ookyo plan a permanent feature of Hotlink Flex. It will be a huge hit. People who still prefer more and cheaper data can go for DiGi LiVE Prepaid.

That’s what I’m suggesting actually. To just shut down Ookyo and focus on making Hotlink Flex a competitive plan. To make more money, they can charge higher fee for extra data like what they are currently doing with Hotlink Flex. While Maxis is trying to market Hotlink Flex as if it is a hybrid plan (feature of Postpaid but with the flexibility of Prepaid), but it is actually a traditional Postpaid plan.

Ookyo is the true hybrid call plan since one can only activate the number by paying using credit card or bank transfer via MaxisPay and is liable for tax while all add-on including the unlimited calls and SMS are tax-free and can be bought using Hotlink reload and the credit won’t expire as long as the number is valid.

yes, facebook video do not deduct data usage... but you have to make sure the link is not open externally... the video must from facebook app itself

Not 1MB block.

She even tells me it is impossible they will charge 1mb for a lets say 50kb usage.

Tested and confirmed they r charging using 10kb block.
See the screenshot.
The data usage recorded by Maxis is alMost d same as recorded by my phone data counter.
This will not happen if its 1mb block.
And if its 1mb block.
U won't see any data balance less than 1mb.

The 1 MB block rumour was started a few years back in LYN and has achieved legendary status with both Hotlink and TuneTalk accused of adopting this 1 MB block accounting.

I have used both Hotlink and TuneTalk and never got the impression that they were deducting by 1 MB blocks.

This is how fake news with no substantiation get started, because people want to believe all the BS out there

When you subscribe 3GB, it will utilize the 3GB first, after depleted then it will continue to use the 1GB from basic. Both are separated. But weird enough, my gf line only have 3GB now, the 1GB basic has gone. Probably due to changing cycle date. Perhaps basic 1GB expired with the original cycle date.. Already made a report and waiting to hear from them back.

Hi all
I am considering to switch to flex.
Currently using old maxis postpaid plan which is about 118/month and additional cost of 500MB data.
I think RM30/month with unlimited call and 1GB data is suffice.
Curious if I can pay flex with credit card?
Thanks

Just read from another post that flex cannot convert from current postpaid customer. 😨😨

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4604269

Is it possible that I can convert to other telco company first then convert back to flex? How much time I need to make it possible?

Typically you need 30 days before changing telcos.

It depends on area and network congestion as well.
I tested it by 6.30am, for sure the speed is damn fast. tongue.gif

Ipoh is not as congested like KL, should be getting faster speed. I would said the 4G+ speed is around 40-50++ mbps.

As its not unlimited or cheap data, I prefer it to be capped at certain speed instead, otherwise it will be wasted when load video, imagine when you watch a YouTube, it load much much faster few times than you are playing, when u think the video is bad and wanna skip yo next video, but instead the video already loading finished, you just wasted this unwatched part, data is used.

Hotline flex good for me too, hehe..But I don't complain and ask for super fast speed as my usage won't need that..So long the stable and don't buffer, it's great.

just switched to hotlink flex from digi around 3 weeks nw..
network quality, reliability and speed definitely way better than digi.

previously when using digi, esp at shopping mall or congested area, always showing 4G or H+ but can't use data at all probably due to congestion..
but maxis is doing well so far...

Yes, very fine statement indeed.
I am using Hotlink Fast prepaid. Free 999GB GB data, but I subscribe to 5GB/month data package. I do monitor my data usage, especially on YouTube video.
Damn, one video on 720p can be a pain in axx to waste so much data.
Maxis uncapped speed is amazing but also is a trap to encourage users to buy more data. tongue.gif

Not sure, never finished the quota.
Based on TnC, sound it will be slow speed after depletion of the allocated data. To be confirmed if this applied to on the basic plan with only 1GB allocation.

OT: just read their TnC, the Unlimited Social seems have listed wrong Applications allowed (Chat apps were listed instead) Maxis

mayb can try select 3G/H+, less congested so able to use.

my prob wit digi is in shopping mall having 4G but can't use data at all.
still remember in mv few months ago got 4G full bar but data can't even use.
force my phone to choose 3G/H+, only able to use data.

so far Maxis no problem, smooth use of data even in congested area like malls,
mayb their infra can cater more users.

Just ported in from Celcom. Went to Maxis about 3pm yesterday cos billing cycle ending today. Everything done and left with sim in about 10 mins biggrin.gif

Got sms within another 15 mins and replied YES fast fast.

This morning about 9am suddenly no service then got email saying welcome so quickly change sim and voila. Easy and painless rclxms.gif

Went to apply for port in from Umobile this morning. As I was walking out from Maxis centre, the SMS from Umobile came. Replied "YES" straight away, now waiting for Umobile to deactivate. Saying goodbye to bad internet coverage and slow speed!

Here, I hope I can set the limit of speed I want.
You can set to 3G if 4G is too fast. Save some data.
And finish the YouTube video if already finished loaded, otherwise the data used is wasted.

What will happen after the internet data quota finish, will it throttle to slow snail speed, straight blocking all internet access or ppu? Thinking to port to flex and the 1gb should be enough for my usage but scared for bill shock if theres ppu after the 1gb finish.

Nvm, found on flex tnc, throttling to slow speed without additional charges. Nice!

No worry, no ppu there to scare your bill..
but the throttled speed is just enough for chatting, it take time to load image in whatsapp/wechat, and sometime failed to load image.

Too bad..That's bad.
It's not fair actually.
Wonder gov and relevant agency will help to justify if report.

First telco is providing nice deal with special price for customer to take when first join.
The other way the special price is charged at full despite the enjoyment period is lesser.

Is like u buy an apple, if you pay another penny you get an extra orange which you may consume in 2 days. But in deed, because the orange will be rotting tmr, so you better finish it by today, as the seller don't care, u still have to pay the penny. Penny wise, stupid user.

Wow then I think they lied to me.

My number is 012 hotlink, due I forgot reload to stay active and the number going into recycle process, I go maxis centre to retrieve back the number and finally I can get it back, then they said I must sign up postpaid first, then I choose the cheapest one, they said can't because that's flex is for 017 only.

End up I choose rm98 maxis one.

no such thing. I am using 012 number.

Maxis don't want to lose money letting their postpaid customers go direct to this plan so you have to MNP out then MNP to Flex

Total cost for

1. Hotlink Flex unlimited call/sms with 5 GB add-on , total 6 GB = RM58.30 (SST included)
2. Hotlink Fast unlimited call with 8 GB data add-on = RM58.20 (discount reload 3% in lowyat)

it's more worth to get hotlink fast if your data usage is higher than 4GB a month

Technically it's possible to convert from MaxisOne to Hotlink Flex, but the excuses and barriers are introduced at sales outlet to discourage people from downgrading.

I think Postpaid got longer minimum stay.

Have you tried the Lowyat forum maxis customer service to look into your current problem?

Just send a private message to Hotlink/ maxis.

in the app, RM10 for 3GB pass is stated at limited time only.

does it mean in future would no longer have this option?

for me 4Gb really enough for me, sometimes I still left 1gb++

How long is that? Are users allowed to switch plan or switch to other telcos during this period? Kinda give an impression that people can just switch to other telcos without a minimum subscription period.

From the FAQ:

QUOTE
The Plan(s)’s unlimited calls and SMS are applicable to which types of call and SMS usage?
It is applicable to domestic mobile/fixed ON-net & OFF-net usage (excluding video calls, calls to chargeable 1-300/1700/600 numbers and calls to TM100 and 121 numbers).

However, a call to domestic fixed line apparently was not covered under the feature:

user posted image

Telco defined it as "call centre number" and charged separately.

QUOTE
Are there any limitations to the unlimited calls and SMS?
No, there are no limits to the unlimited calls and SMS. However, customers will be subjected to Maxis’ Fair Usage Policy and we reserve the rights to interrupt, bar, suspend or restrict the service if the customer’s usage appears unusual. Please refer to the rate plan’s Terms & Conditions for further details.
Not sure whether the "call centre number" falls under which T&C.

According to sources, after they upgrade to 5G, then only they will consider the voLTE!

rm30 is their base plan, i don't think they will give you 2gb.

they know 1gb most people not enough, 2gb just nice, so they put more but just need add rm10, lure people to just add extra rm10.

No. your 5GB data will not get deducted. Because you already purchase the unlimited social.

Hotlink Flex App launch asking for phone number, then key in SMS code.... then "loading" for-e-ver. So many failed on android, did a try on another iPhone, same thing persist.

When call "123", believe too long queue to even pick up my call.

So tried to go Maxis center, ask for their assist... all SA can do is to log an "issue".

u wait lah.....mine, I waited for 2 months for them to resolve....

from simple, off and on to restart phone, delete and install back the apps to try on different phone....all cannot....

even their customer service call me multiple times also cannot resolved, been given a case ID also....

end up, they ask me to email to them with the case number, with the screenshot, the phone I use, which IOS and they only forwarded it to their programmer. Then, only it will work.

I subscribed to flex 40 + social and thought it would be enough for my daily usage (coming from hotlink prepaid), I was wrong. Prepaid owners get tons of freebies and advantages aside from unlimited calls and deals but I don't have much choice to get much from flex.

Was about to change mine back to prepaid but I didn't knew there was a 6 month period before you could change back to prepaid (instant for flex plan change or to maxis plan), sigh

To make things worst, live video especially periscope for twitter were not included in social unlimited plan. I was like, why even bother unlimited

I subscribed the same plan as you too. I am from Hotlink FAST plan. I really regret changing to this Hotlink Flex plan. Another thing is, the data drains faster in Hotlink Flex plan than Hotlink Prepaid. Not sure if you feel that too. My internet allocation was refreshed just 2 days ago and now, about 500MB gone. I only use my phone for Faceboook and some WhatsApp messaging only. This happened when I first changed to Hotlink Flex. Initially I thought I might be wrong. But now, the 2nd month, it’s still the same. Data drains fast.

Now thinking of changing to Celcom Xpax50 postpaid. You get 10GB Internet and unlimited calls to all networks.

Yeah, i felt my data drain much faster than when I use prepaid before but not so much so it's pretty negligible. My issue is more to the add-on that I paid extra, give unlimited but doesn't include everything i.e live video and embedded content even though the source is actually from the app itself.

I'm also considering other telco as of now, either jump to celcom or yes 4g. Yes 4g sounds more appealing on paper but the coverage is disputable

I’ve no issues in moving from MOP98 to Hotlink for a month then to Flex. However I do agree after few days usage the data consumption seems to be like draining fast.

I ported from digi to celcom. so far already can see difference in signal coverage. yes, miserable is the right term when signal drop until can't use at all.

btw, this postpaid flex, on hotlink website I can't select the plus plan without buying a phone (and sub to 2 year contract). anyone knows whether I can apply for flex plus without phone?

I ported from digi to celcom. so far already can see difference in signal coverage. yes, miserable is the right term when signal drop until can't use at all.

btw, this postpaid flex, on hotlink website I can't select the plus plan without buying a phone (and sub to 2 year contract). anyone knows whether I can apply for flex plus without phone?

I subscribed to flex 40 + social and thought it would be enough for my daily usage (coming from hotlink prepaid), I was wrong. Prepaid owners get tons of freebies and advantages aside from unlimited calls and deals but I don't have much choice to get much from flex.

Was about to change mine back to prepaid but I didn't knew there was a 6 month period before you could change back to prepaid (instant for flex plan change or to maxis plan), sigh

To make things worst, live video especially periscope for twitter were not included in social unlimited plan. I was like, why even bother unlimited

Hotlink rewards, hotlink MU and sometimes even free data on some occasion. I usually focus more on additional data than call/sms and I do notice with prepaid, you get more data that postpaid.

Dealing with service provider can sometimes be tricky. We (me and my wife) wanted to change plans from Maxis postpaid ($128+$48+$48) to Hotlink Postpaid ($30, $40+$40).

I have read the Term and Conditions and went to Maxis Centre to change our plans. But alas, we were given excuses i.e. we need to change to Hotlink Prepaid first before change to Hotlink Postpaid for at least 1 month (or 6 month when I spoke to their customer service hotline 123). We were also told that Hotlink Postpaid is not for prefix 012. When asked why is all this not stated in the Terms and Conditions, the answer was not all is mentioned in the Terms and Condition; and it is stated in the FAQ. Ridiculous right? If you don't mentioned it in the Terms and Conditions, then it is not a Condition. Also, if the FAQ forms parts of the Terms and Conditions, then in the Terms and Conditions, it should have mentioned that FAQ is part and parcel of the document. Hotlink Postpaid Flex have 3 separate documents that forms it's Terms and Conditions, namely and accordingly to its importance is Service Specific, General and Summary.

Service Specific Terms and Conditions (SSTC) - Hotlink Postpaid Flex.
https://www.hotlink.com.my/ms/tnc/plan-serv...d-flex-tnc.html

General Terms & Conditions of Service(s) (GTC).
https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/tnc/general-tnc.html

Summary Terms And Conditions of Maxis Services(s) (STC).
https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/tnc/summary-tnc.html

I lodged a formal complaint with Maxis and give them 7 days to resolve this amicably. After several calls on day 1 and day 3, and them failing to give me an answer with regards to their own Terms and Conditions and actual practice, I have doubt that this will be resolved. So I detailed the incidents and email to MCMC and also state that Maxis have another 4 days left to resolved this with me.

Tuesday, after 8 days, Maxis called and told me that the management have given approval. In my mind, "wow, we got a special approval for something as simple as changing plans, finally".

Morale of the story is, always read the fine line. You never knew when it may be use in your advantage.

Instead of all this bs from the Maxis CS and SSTC/GTC/STC, you could have simply port out to Umobile which does not impose cooling off period then port in back into Maxis to subscribe the Hotlink Postpaid Flex plan. I've done this all within less than 5 days. icon_rolleyes.gif

After using this postpaid flex for a while I can say coverage wise in klang valley not much difference with celcom. The only downside is sometimes you get full bar 4g signal but data is slow af. When that happens I simply switch to 3g and immediately can use fast Internet. Most probably the tower in that area was congested since everyone is on 4g nowadays. I never had such issue with Celcom though. If I keep getting the same issue, I'm going back to the blue team.

i search keywords on "MOP" , "MaxisOne" in this thread and found that in order to change from MaxisOne plan to Hotlink Postpaid Flex, i need to change to Hotlink Prepaid for 1 month first, then only can change to Hotlink Postpaid Flex.

i am using MOP158 and would like to convert to Postpaid Flex 40. Do I need to go through the same process above?

OK. this is the question i asked CS as well. CS told me make sure your sim card is 128K and it's fine. No need to change. If your SIM Card is 64K, then advisable to change at any authorized Maxis dealers or Centers. Performance is good, no worries smile.gif Among all, I still prefer Maxis as my No.1 telco brand.

If you live in Klang Valley and KL primarily, avoid Maxis and Hotlink.

Nowadays Maxis network is highly congested and unresponsive in KL. I've been getting assistive GPS signals when using Maxis. Before this came from Telco U. Hardly have any issues connecting to GPS signal detection. For some reason I feel like Waze hates Maxis's network.

Reception signal can be full but speedtest results tell otherwise, it can't take the traffic and register 3G HSPA speeds or worst. Even their 4G+ network can only attain 10M-20M at most.

I'm thinking now of porting out from this miserable telco. Oversubscribed and making no efforts to improve their 4G network when Telco-U and C now making lots of effort to win customers over.

That's weird. I am using Maxis around Klang Valley and I found not much problem on the network. Wherever I go, mostly I get signal and the speed has been very consistent even for indoors and outdoors. My speedtest shown above 30Mbps most of the time. Speaking of Waze, no issue as well as I can get consistent GPS signals.

Which part of Klang Valley?

The area where I am, Kepong Baru, Manjalara, and Damansara Perdana the Maxis experience here is damn awful.

Got 4G+ but speeds is like around 10M only.Peak hours worst the speed is like ADSL 4M-7M.

Nope. The clear winner for Klang Valley is Celcom's network which includes all its MVNOs such as TuneTalk, XOX etc.
Seriously Celcom invests significantly in its Klang Valley network particularly KL and its surrounding areas.

Dear, I'm talking about Klang Valley not JB till BKH. I've seen Maxis hit close and over 100M in other cities such as JB, Ipoh and Penang. But not in KL surroudning except KLCC or Puchong area which is Maxis's stronghold.

I'm talking about Kepong, Segambut, Sentul and Damansara areas. Maxis line is very congested in these areas. I do not recommend Maxis to my friends in these areas.

Which part of Klang Valley?

The area where I am, Kepong Baru, Manjalara, and Damansara Perdana the Maxis experience here is damn awful.

Got 4G+ but speeds is like around 10M only.Peak hours worst the speed is like ADSL 4M-7M.
I change phone almost every 6 months. Currently on SD660 phone on latest Xiaomi Global stable firmware.
How can be phone reception broken? The Maxis SIM I just change also new.

*
I am at Bandar Sri Damansara area. Maxis at my phone able to reach 70-80Mbps here. I am using Huawei. Xiaomi phones depends, some are not really network capable to reach the higher speed due to hardware limitations. Celcom speeds sucks here. Maxis clear winner!

Huawei's Kirin line of processors are inferior to Snapdragon. Not being able to Snapdragon latest series of processors is not an excuse.

Meanwhile at the same spot where Maxis's 4G+ fails, I use DiGi immediately saw a speedtest result of 70M+ at peak hours during weekend. How do you explain this Maxis rep?Even Umobile is consistently stable though its capped at 5M.

I tried on Digi 4G+ and U Mobile 4G, both cannot delivery faster speeds like Maxis 4G+.

Afternoon. RM40 is excluding SST. After SST, the price should be RM42.40 (assuming no adding any VAS).

DiGi's performance in Kepong Baru, Manjalara, Damansara blows Maxis's lame 4G+ away. 70+mbps vs 10-20Mbps?
Umobile don't say la GX50 capped to 5Mbps but its always consistently stable at that speed. Good for streaming on the go. You want fast speed downloads, connect to your own home/office Wifi.

Depends on your area. Ternet performance in Klang Valley is below average and lousy for Maxis. Only certain areas such as their HQ KLCC, Puchong and Cyberjaya good. Elsewhere even Desa Park City, Kepong Baru and Manjalara all the way through Sri Damansara, Damansara Perdana, Duta Maxis speeds are horrible.

Dun worry bro. Internet has been very stable for Maxis. Almost 99% of good coverage no matter you are at indoor or outdoor.

They are the No.1 4G LTE in Malaysia smile.gif

Is Maxis giving the same treatment and privilege for 4G speed to Hotlink Postpaid and MaxisOne Postpaid ?

The 4G speed for Hotlink Postpaid seems to be always slower than MaxisOne real postpaid?

Nope. As long is both postpaid segment, there's no segregation of speed no matter MaxisOne or Hotlink Postpaid. Same treatment. Confirmed!

Both are correct, they did mentioned max speed (i thought it was 30mbps) but so far no throttle yet. But since they did mentioned it, if they start throttle, users can't complain since it is stated from the beginning.

Yes, hotlink is under maxis, but if you used hotlink prepaid before, you will most likely felt the difference before.

You can check here https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plan/hotlink-postpaid-flex/ on whether how much upfront you need to pay. It also depends on what phone you take.

I think no deposit needed. Just need advance payment. If you need more enquiries, you can contact Hotlink Customer service for more details.

That's the catch.

The advance payment is 12mths X RM30 = RM360 on top of whichever phone you choose.

If RM199 phone means RM199 + RM360 advance payment.

RM559 upfront before you can take the phone home.

RM30 will be rebated from your RM60 monthly payment for the next 12 mths. Meaning you only pay RM30 per month + SST.

No difference.. You still get 5GB of data..

They originally launched Hotlink Postpaid Flex as an RM 30 plan with 1GB data, and add-on RM 10 for additional 3GB data..

They recently repackage it as a RM 40 plan instead of the RM 10 as an add-on, but maybe the backend tracking didn't change.

another option is the hotlink red RM35 come with 6GB data..

my understanding compare with Hotlink Postpaid Flex RM40, hotlink red (RM35) is 1GB higher data... RM5 cheaper... the con is need to pay for call and sms

Call: 15sen/30 sec (all local network)
SMS: 15sen/sms (all local network)
or Activ10 rates to 10 Hotlink/Maxis firends with rates of 6sen/30sec calls and 1sen/SMS.

Hotlink flex data is split into 2 pools.. 1 GB (balance shown on the circle in the app) + 4 GB (balance shown as text).. it will consume the 4GB first then only the 1 GB..

Beg to differ.

DiGi is way better than Maxis here at Kepong Manjalara and Bandar Sri Damansara

In fact if you look at your jitter rate for Maxis it shows a spike of over 100ms. Very bad line quality there. At least 10X as worse than DiGi's.

In fact if you look at your jitter rate for Maxis it shows a spike of over 100ms. Very bad line quality there. At least 10X as worse than DiGi's.

Hotlink postpaid and prepaid should share the same tower? Satisfied with the coverage and speed when I tested the network with Hotlink prepaid...it’s so different once I signed up for the postpaid

Some places Maxis is way ahead of the competition.
Some other places other telco is better.
So it is up to us which is the best telco.
But based on my experience, Maxis does not dissapoint.
Most places got a stable 4G network and really good streaming.
Whereas Digi and Celcom is bad at some places I go to.
When peak hour sure the internet loads like shit even on LTE whereas Maxis is just simply the best.
As a proof, here is the ‘awesome’ Digi speed in my house area.

The ping rate not much difference la. Aiyah, the most important thing is stability and less congestion. So far no complaints on Maxis smile.gif thumbup.gif thumbsup.gif

100ms over jitter/spike is very serious issue. It means the connection is very unstable.

Also Hotlink FLEX lacks behind DiGi significantly. Its speed is capped like 30M only from experience(from bad experience using the postpaid FLEX plan).

Maxis network does not support VoLTE over 4G network yet so everytime you make a call, your line will drop back to 3G/H+ which is very outdated tech.

For DiGi, your 4G signal will not be dropped when making calls because VoLTE is already enabled unless there's no 4G coverage in your area.

We don't need VoLTE when it's not so stable! I still prefer Maxis line who are still stable!

Tried on multiple browsers, different computers...same thing

The best I always advice changing of plans / MNP is to go to Maxis Center (or authorized dealers) to do it. Not recommended to do online because it's slow and not so responsive (sometimes no response at all).
