hotlink prepaid is offer better than this. cheaper and more data
*
Only if you are on Hotlink Fast Plan. The recently introduced Hotlink Red Plan no longer offers free weekend data.

QUOTE(alexleow81 @ Feb 28 2018, 09:33 AM)
Latest Update:

Yesterday go to sign up this plan at Maxis Center and being told that it's included with 6% GST every month billing
*
So one thing is clear now. RM30 is a nett price as it is GST inclusive.

hotlink prepaid.
rm60 = 8GB + Free Social + unlimited call
hotlink flex.
rm85= 8GB + Free social + unlimited call.

assuming 1GB rm10
*
A fair comparison should be :
Hotlink Postpaid Flex
RM55/month = 6GB + unlimited calls + unlimited SMS

Hotlink Fast
RM60 = 8GB all day + 8GB weekend + unlimited calls + free social

Hotlink Red
RM60 = 8GB all day + unlimited calls + free social

Data is undoubtedly very important these days but calls and SMS still have their own value depending on one’s lifestyle and profession. The new Hotlink Postpaid Flex is good for people who don’t really need a lot of data and who do not hook on to Facebook or WhatsApp all the time. This plan after all, is still RM5 cheaper than Hotlink Fast and Hotlink Red with similar offerings.

Anyway, overall it is good that Maxis is trying to cater to consumers of all segments.

This Hotlink Flex plan is cater for those who TALK more and SURF less. This plan add-on package only given 5GB of data per month which I think is utterly nonsense in current competitive market. They should given more options such as 20GB, 30GB or 100GB for us to choose instead of given a peanut 5GB of data which is worst than their current Hotlink RED plan. Stupid decision making for coming out this plan
*
The reason they do not offer a 20GB, 30GB or 100GB add-on is because they do not want to cannibalise their own MaxisONE Plan. But of course, if you are in East Malaysia, the MaxisONE Plan 68 definitely is a very competitive plan.

I think Maxis has made it quite clear that they will not compete on price but quality. DiGi Infinite Plan is cheap but it’s not the plan for everyone. And as more people sign up for DiGi Infinite Plan and abuse it like no tomorrow, it puts a huge burden on DiGi’s network and that is not good for DiGi subscribers. I’m a very long time DiGi user. DiGi sometimes is good and sometimes not. I am using Maxis too and stability wise, Maxis easily beats DiGi hands down.

As for Celcom. Celcom is like the most complained telco in Malaysia after U Mobile biggrin.gif

Hi,

1. Does the first bill include RM 10 stamp duty like normal postpaid?
*
Maxis doesn’t charge any stamp duty for new Postpaid registration.

QUOTE(eeeglow24 @ Mar 1 2018, 07:33 PM)
2. RM30 is GST inclusive or it will be much more after we include GST?

Thank you.
*
RM30 is said to be a nett subscription fee. It means the monthly commitment fee of RM30 for Hotlink Postpaid Flex is already inclusive of GST.

Meaning thus postpaid Flex is already include gst in the rm 30 ? That mean I no need add gst?
*
According to Alexleow81, yes. The RM30 is already inclusive of GST.

Anyway, I re-read his post. He wasn't clear if it is included or it is going to be included. So there could be a chance that the 6% GST is not yet included. Better clarify with Maxis again.

Maxis center customers service told me cannot change supplementary line to hotlink red , then to hotlink flex. They said got GST charge as it is postpaid.

Well I’ll stay away from this until I got more clarity , and for maxis to make up its mind whom they allow to sign up to this plan.
*
There is a chance that they can't purposely change your current Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Prepaid just so you can change to Hotlink Postpaid Flex. One can try to change to Hotlink Prepaid first, and only go back to Maxis Centre to change to Hotlink Postpaid Flex next time.

Not possible find everything equipped at no charges as telco is not NGO.

Ookyo meet your needs.
*
Indeed Ookyo provides a super competitive plan. Maxis should have just made Ookyo plan a permanent feature of Hotlink Flex. It will be a huge hit. People who still prefer more and cheaper data can go for DiGi LiVE Prepaid.

Hehe, ookyo can be shut down if hotlink flex added these features. No point creating ookyo at first place then.
*
That’s what I’m suggesting actually. To just shut down Ookyo and focus on making Hotlink Flex a competitive plan. To make more money, they can charge higher fee for extra data like what they are currently doing with Hotlink Flex. While Maxis is trying to market Hotlink Flex as if it is a hybrid plan (feature of Postpaid but with the flexibility of Prepaid), but it is actually a traditional Postpaid plan.

Ookyo is the true hybrid call plan since one can only activate the number by paying using credit card or bank transfer via MaxisPay and is liable for tax while all add-on including the unlimited calls and SMS are tax-free and can be bought using Hotlink reload and the credit won’t expire as long as the number is valid.

mayb can try select 3G/H+, less congested so able to use.

my prob wit digi is in shopping mall having 4G but can't use data at all.
still remember in mv few months ago got 4G full bar but data can't even use.
force my phone to choose 3G/H+, only able to use data.

so far Maxis no problem, smooth use of data even in congested area like malls,
mayb their infra can cater more users.

Agreed. Always have to use my mom’s phone to book Grab from Mid-Valley South Court and KLCC as she’s using Maxis.

It’d be interesting to see how Hotlink is going to revamp the Hotlink Postpaid Flex Plan in coming weeks as current offering has become hugely uncompetitive with the launch of the new unlimited data passes for Hotlink Unlimited Prepaid and increased mobile data for Maxis Postpaid.

I noticed that maximum download speed from my iPhone is around 30mbps hmm.gif

On their promo leaflet I took from Maxis Centre last year, there was indeed mention that the internet speed for Hotlink Postpaid Flex is capped at 30Mbps.

But anyway, I believe an urgent revamp of the Hotlink Postpaid Flex Plan is necessary due to Hotlink Unlimited Prepaid has made this Hotlink Postpaid Flex kind of redundant. Some capped speed is fine since they want to keep the best of everything to the expensive Maxis Postpaid. Here’s to hoping we will hear new changes coming to Hotlink Postpaid Flex soon.

Looking at Hotlink Postpaid Flex offerings again, they are geared towards promoting the Hotlink Postpaid Flex + Maxis Home Fibre 30Mbps package for RM99/month, which basically means a discount of RM60/month, and that’s huge!

So there is also a chance that we won’t see them revamping the Hotlink Postpaid Flex plan anytime soon as their main aim is to sign-up people for the bundle Hotlink Postpaid Flex package and not a standalone Hotlink Postpaid Flex line. How I wish Maxis Unlimited Postpaid and Fibre gets some discount too since it’s a bundled product, but all we get is unlimited mobile data.

I wish Maxis offer more data to all Hotlink Postpaid Flex plan like what they offer for Maxis Postpaid last week cry.gif
Take a look at its Maxis Postpaid Share 48, it comes with 30GB data, meanwhile the most expensive Hotlink Postpaid Flex 60 only comes with 10GB + 10GB YouTube, while Hotlink Postpaid 30 and more data only 5GB + 3GB YouTube
What a huge difference between Maxis Postpaid and Hotlink Postpaid doh.gif
*
By matching the offering of Hotlink Postpaid, they risk cannibalising their own Maxis business. But at least they now offer huge discount if you take up the bundle Hotlink Postpaid and Fibre offer, which MaxisONE Prime doesn’t get. RM50 discount a month is really a lot.

That Flex+Fiber package has a lot of restrictions, for eg cannot switch plan, must be new fiber customer etc. Sounds attractive only.

Can easily get around the rules. Just port-out and then port back in LOL

But there's risk also to those who are standalone Hotlink Flex Plus users. They'll feel that their plan is overpriced for RM60+SST while many unlimited call prepaid plan options are available in the market now. It is still considered Postpaid because users are being billed while the plan only offers 10GB all use data + 10GB Youtube.
*
If anyone switches to the new Hotlink Prepaid Video plan, there is a RM60 pass that sort of comes with better offering, as in it comes with 10GB full speed data, 20GB video data and unlimited calls. Only thing missing is unlimited SMS.

Yes. There is a chance of existing Hotlink Postpaid customers switching to either Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited or Hotlink Prepaid Video. But otherwise, it depends on what type of customers Hotlink Postpaid is going after. As the prepaid segment is getting cheaper and better every year, I can see Maxis following Thailand telco footstep for their postpaid offering, as in they will start focusing more and more on selling bundle products (mobile postpaid + home fibre). This is probably why Maxis has been extremely aggressively in expanding its fibre footprint. As a matter of fact, it’s the only Big 3 that has home fibre coverage that is as wide as TM, or wider now since Maxis also partners with Allo.

Are you referring to the RM60 pass on Hotlink Prepaid Video ? Because I was referring to this pass not offering unlimited SMS, not Hotlink Postpaid.

Last year or last 2 year TM auto upgraded my fiber internet so I believe I cannot goes back to 30mbps, as my house got more and more devices connected Internet laugh.gif
Unless they offer 100mbps in Hotlink Postpaid which will not going happen anytime soon
So that the reason I didn't subscribe Maxis Postpaid as home got Unifi
Might downgrade to Hotlink Unlimited Prepaid, but I don't think I can tolerate with 3mbps or 6mbps
Will see how Maxis going to revamp it biggrin.gif

Pairing faster Maxis Fibre package - 100Mbps with Hotlink, Maxis risks cannibalising its Maxis mobile/fibre bundle business. But since Hotlink can offer such a huge discount (RM50) for its Hotlink Pospaid and Fibre bundle, Maxis should offer some discount to its customers on MaxisONE Prime too.

My parents are on MaxisONE Prime package. I’m the one using our home Maxis Home Fibre. It’s good that they now get unlimited mobile date on their respective lines, but I hope to see Maxis to offer similar discount to MaxisONE Prime like it does to Hotlink Postpaid and Fibre.

QUOTE(GEN.2 @ Jun 13 2020, 08:26 PM)
I got few question to ask about this plan.'

1. This plan can we choose from prefix 012 number or only dedicated for 017 prefix number?
2.  This postpaid plan for RM30, RM40 and RM60 is it subject to 12 months contract or non contract? ( excluding the RM1 phone which i know 24 months contract)
3. Can we early terminate the plan just for 1 or 2 months subscribe and port out to other telco? Any penalty for this?

Reason for asking this because I want to get my 012 favorite number and to get the lowest unlimited plan price.
*
1. 012, 017, some 010, 014 and 011 numbers are all available but they depends on availability. There are many times that a certain number is not in service, but are not available in the system. There are three possibilities to this scenario.
- Numbers are reserved for future release for people signing up for higher end postpaid plans on Maxis Postpaid or for MaxisONE Club Elite customers.
- The number has been recycled into prepaid pack but not yet registered and activated by anyone.
- The number was recently terminated. It’s going to take sometime before it is release back to system for new registration. The recently terminated number, if a 012 or 017 number that has always been with Maxis, then it needs to be suspended for at least 3 months. Then it will take a few more months to go through the recycling system. Hence many more months before they appear in the system for new registration. For 012 or 017 number that was ported our, wait time is even longer after they are terminated.

2. No contract.

3. Some Maxis Centre said you need to stay on the postpaid plan for at least 6 months.

FYI, I found it very hard to spot a Hotlink Prepaid new SIM with 012 prefix in KL these days. There are plenty of 017 numbers though. But in KK (Sabah), there are many 012 prefix numbers in Hotlink SIM pack. There are all in 012-8xx xxxx format. Do however note that 012 numbers are heavily recycled. Hence some don’t mind 017 prefix these days.

For updates, I just have conversation with Maxis, Hotlink Postpaid Flex number can be selected only 017 prefix based on the availability. 012 prefix number registration only exclusive for maxis postpaid from RM98 plan and above. I think Maxis try to rebrand 012 prefix number as premier and exclusive status. Is just like when you own an Apple phone, Mercedes or BMW for car, it will increase other people perception and status towards you.

So, those with 012 prepaid number, make sure you do not forget to top up or else your might to sign up expensive plan in order to get back the number.. laugh.gif  laugh.gif

That’s news to me! Shall go out to check if there are still many 012-8 Hotlink sim pack next time in Sabah.

Also I noticed that most of the hotlink Super and Red prepaid sim pack expiry date is on 31 Dec 2020. Will seller lost money if not sell off the prepaid before the expiry date or they just returned it back to Maxis to get back their money? Just pity to those seller who try to sell good VIP number and yet keep holding to sell at higher price hoping to gain huge profit from it.
*
Not very sure about it. Some people on Garage Sales seem to have some golden numbers forever.

Anyway, I don’t feel sorry for them though. They got the stocks in bulk from the telco, and a lot of the numbers aren’t quite Golden Numbers yet dealers put a premium of 500% - 1000% on the recommended retail price.

I do however notice there is much less this kind of problem with Maxis and Digi. As in Maxis and Digi are still holding to most of the Golden Numbers themselves. But with Celcom, there are really many Golden Numbers that dealers are holding instead of Celcom itself and they are trying to sell like RM500 or a few thousand.

Anyway, we’re going off-topic already.
