Don't compare apple to orange. Different products and different technologies offered by TM. They are not created equal.
Monthly difference is RM20.15 (incl 6% GST), provided you don't make calls.
All the streamyx (ADSL technology) users should migrate to Unifi, when ADSL becomes obsolete. It is just a matter of time.
There are some one-off cost you need to prepare, installation (free or pay for better installation, up to you), reset alarm, CCTV, TV box etc.
Contract for Unifi is 24 months, but you can terminate anytime by paying penalty, up to RM860 in 1st year, RM500 in 2nd year.
But subject to price reduction and speed upgrade, as proposed by the Government in Budget 2017.

I don't think Budget 2017 speed upgrade applies to new subscription. If I'm not mistaken, it only applies to existing customer up to March 2017 that responded Yes in the Thank You website (for consent to upgrade).

Need some advice here....im currently using streamyx BB deal 1mbps RM110.

Now Unifi Lite plan is 10mbps RM129. I was thinking of changing plan to unifi.

What's the different between this two type for download volume, download speed, upload speed?

Unifi Lite plan is better than streamyx?

Thanks.

2 rounds of speed upgrade- 2017 and 2019.
You are right, NO @ first round.
I was pointing at the 2nd round.

After more than 6 years 24/7, My RT N66U finally waved the white flag, so I gave it an honorable discharge. Just out of impulse I replaced it with a Tenda AC18 1900..I must say for the price RM399, am very impressed with its capabilities especially the 5Ghz signal..hopefully it will serve me well

Hello! I am about to sign up for the unifi lite deal by this weekend. Have been using the maxis home fiber for 5 years...since the RM118 deal for 10mb up/down. i didnt had much problem with maxis but for the past 6 months...it has been crazy. Ping spike to 500ms all the sudden, international site load suuuuper slow. For nothing almost cannot surf website. Complain to maxis so many times, fixed for 2 weeks then come back again...then repeat la. Last 2 months been a very bad experience for me so its time to make the jump to unifi!

Im a lite user and dont need those fancy hypp tv or phone...all i need is just 10mb speed and im happy.

So I suppose RM129 is before gst which comes to the sum of rm136.74 monthly, if i dont make any calls or sign up for additional stuff am i right?

Might be a router issue rather than a connection issue. Have you tried switching to another router?

there are 2 equipment maxis gave, a tm router and the wifi with voip function phone. if it is a modem problem, i should get this problem very consistent but this is not the case. when it happens, they do something on their end after a few days its back to normal...then 2 weeks later it comes back again. I have done a lot of troubleshooting with them and always the reset this and that. They did swap their wifi with voip once a few years back but it has nothing to do with it being faulty.

Also i am in this networking field for more than 10 years so i know what i am troubleshooting to identify the problem. I dont see my neighbor on unifi complain though.

Chill bro. I'm just suggesting an alternative solution to your problem. I am also on Maxis and so far it's stable for me, so just thought I would give you another choice. If you want to change to Unifi, just do it and it might solve your problems.

sometimes you need to restart the router to get the speed back.
