Hello! I am about to sign up for the unifi lite deal by this weekend. Have been using the maxis home fiber for 5 years...since the RM118 deal for 10mb up/down. i didnt had much problem with maxis but for the past 6 months...it has been crazy. Ping spike to 500ms all the sudden, international site load suuuuper slow. For nothing almost cannot surf website. Complain to maxis so many times, fixed for 2 weeks then come back again...then repeat la. Last 2 months been a very bad experience for me so its time to make the jump to unifi!

Im a lite user and dont need those fancy hypp tv or phone...all i need is just 10mb speed and im happy.

So I suppose RM129 is before gst which comes to the sum of rm136.74 monthly, if i dont make any calls or sign up for additional stuff am i right?

there are 2 equipment maxis gave, a tm router and the wifi with voip function phone. if it is a modem problem, i should get this problem very consistent but this is not the case. when it happens, they do something on their end after a few days its back to normal...then 2 weeks later it comes back again. I have done a lot of troubleshooting with them and always the reset this and that. They did swap their wifi with voip once a few years back but it has nothing to do with it being faulty.

Also i am in this networking field for more than 10 years so i know what i am troubleshooting to identify the problem. I dont see my neighbor on unifi complain though.

i just installed unifi 30/10 package last Thursday. They gave me the tp-link archer c1200 wifi. I realized one thing...after 2 days if no reboot of the wifi, if i leave my house and come back later, all my mobile phones cannot connect back to the wifi anymore. It can see the ssid but just failed to connect saying authentication error. Even if i forget the ssid, connect back by reentering the password, still same thing. Only way to fix this was reboot the whole wifi. Ok that fixed it..since it happened 1 time, i let it so.

Today it happened again 2nd time. same thing, phones all cannot connect to wifi, have to reboot the tp-link archer c1200 wifi. So this time i chat with TM online support, told them my problem and they said did i test with lan when it happened? well i didnt because i want to use wifi, not the lan. they said cannot do anything until i test the lan when it happened again, mean while they will reset my port. i have no idea why they want reset my port, it has nothing to do with the port but its wifi problem. but i will just see if it will happen again in the next 2 days.

anyone facing this problem as well? im already thinking to change the wifi by buying another model outside. what would you recommend?

So i have been using unifi 30/10 for 6 days only and that stupid tp link archer c1200 has failed on me 3 times! I already explain previously here but let me explain again. So every 24 to 48 hours if you do not reboot that stupid tp-link archer c1200 device, it will automatically hang. When it hangs, no device can connect to the internet, on wifi or lan! wifi if you leave the house and come back cannot connect to it anymore, even though you still see the SSID there. if you try and forget the SSID and try connecting, it will tell you authentication error. As for the LAN it is also the same, i cannot get ip address at all. I have screen shot to prove it here. Have a look at it. Only way to fix this is to reboot that tp link and then it will auto recover, without rebooting the TM router device.

Today it happened for the 3rd time already after using for 6 days. When it happened for the 2nd time, i went and chat with the TM representative online, told them what i am facing and they ask me if LAN works when it happens. I didn't test at that time so i cannot answer them and they said to monitor again. I knew i was going to face this issue very soon so i agreed to it without logging a case. Now that it has happened and i can confirm wifi and lan doesnt work. A reboot of the stupid tp link archer c1200 will fix this issue. So i can confirm that it is the tp link archer c1200 problem! Now i know the suggestion here is to get another wifi router outside like the asus for more stable performance, but what i do not understand is that is this tp link archer c1200 that lousy? I mean come on, its brand new out of the box and only 6 days old, every 24-48 hours i am sure to face this stupid issue! Cannot be TM would give a such bad wifi router right even though its free? If you say you do not reboot it for 1 month and this problems occurs, i that i can understand may be la. But this is like 24-48 hours, that i cannot accept! I do believe it is just my unit. Is anyone facing this issue as well using the free tp link archer c1200 model? I have logged a case with TM and they said will get someone over to test and may be replace another unit for me. Do give me your feedback about this problem. Thanks!

Already update to latest Aus/Eu firmware?

If so, disable the SPI Firewall if you really hate that hangs/auto reboot issues.

My advice is to upgrade your current firmware to aus firmware and disable spi firewall, print server and usb sharing features. THis will keep your cpu around 50 to 80%. Hey come on atleast better than 91 - 98% and hang. For the first 2 weeks, my experience using c1200 (received this router from 100Mbps thank you surprise) after flash with aus firmware lessen the burden although I can say slightly better. The router reboots once every wednesday mid-morning only. I am a heavy user (torrenting & downloading stuffs). Recently, I came across with the asus n56u (used) and purchase it for rm140 and use it as my current main router. To overcome the asus n56u wireless signal strength, I use the new tplink TL-WR841N and use it as a booster for my 2.4ghz wireless signal.

My advice is, better buy your own router.

can we use this au/eu firmware for v1?

This one right?

Archer C1200(EU)_V1_170706

How to disable to SPI firewall? I suppose it can be found inside the tp link web gui right?
