When I moved 5~6 years ago, I got the 10mbps unifi package. Then I upgraded to 20 (had to pay since I felt 10 wasn't fast enough) a year later.
Then got a free upgrade to 30 a year later. Then to 50 a few months ago. Finally received a call yesterday that I'm eligible for a free upgrade to 100.

I'm paying ~ low 2XX.00 a month still. Not sure of the exact amount since the internet bill is paid automatically monthly.
*
Boss if you think u are paying rm250ish... U most likely are a carrot that got chopped when the offered u free upgrade last year. Rm250 is 50mbps price Loh.

30mbps is rm179.

Need some advice here....im currently using streamyx BB deal 1mbps RM110.

Now Unifi Lite plan is 10mbps RM129. I was thinking of changing plan to unifi.

What's the different between this two type for download volume, download speed, upload speed?

Unifi Lite plan is better than streamyx?

Thanks.
*
You 10 times the download.
About 12times the upload.

Plus.no.more worry for.lightninh strike coming into your house via the copper wire.

To me no brain. Just do it.

Kodi/Exodus.

On a side note. Can the Archer C5 free router from TM be used as a Repeater? Couldn't find such option on the setting.
*
I use it as access point.

Disable dhcp. Connect LAN to LAN port.

Oh and I set up the ssid to be different from the main router.(different floors of the house)

The problem with this is. Your phone might not connect to the strongest signal.

So manually toggle connect.

Other ap solution can setup the host to disconnect clients if the signal drops below a level.

So you aren't linking these 2 routers up via wireless?
*
Wireless is too lousy a connection. Definitely worth it to run cables for access point.

Wireless signal don't cut thru brick and concrete that well.

2.4ghz still can pass thru ~4 walls.

5ghz is not capable of passing thru any wall...

Just got my Unifi upgrade to 100mbps and i must stressed that the Dlink DIR-850L is so unstable i need a recommendation from the sifus here for a stable router (not high-end stuff)

The cylinder DIR-850L gave me mixed speedtest result. Sometimes max out at 100+mb sometimes 30-40mb with high ping times most of the time.

My Asus RT-N12HP has served me well but its only a single band router. Would like to know if theres anything below RM500 thats good enough.

Thank you in advance all!

According to Ur budget. Close enough.

Subject to my gov deregulating by 2018 December? With this latest round of sign up to another 2 yrs. Then it will be incredibly upsetting if have to pay rm100 more for another year

Finally my friend and I had TeamViewer session with my sis back at home for few hours, fixing router settings.. Didn't expect small little thing like "Tx power adjustment" makes so much of difference.

We had no issue with 100% on 50Mbps, got full speed all the time. Now gotta adjust to 50% only to maximize the speed of 100Mbps.

2.4GHz and 5GHz are OK now. thumbup.gif Just that my sister's iPad Mini 2 is still not too fast, around 78Mbps for 2.4GHz and 57Mbps on 5GHz. Maybe will guide my sister to reset network settings on her iPad later, it is late now. I guess this is a small issue.
*
I tried the 40mhz and 80mhz channel width. After that keep getting disconnected.... End up switch back to 20mhz.

Small things yup. Then the issue with dhcp.... After setting fixed ip. I did not restart my client raspberry....After two days then the router hang up. At least I look at log and realized my folly.

I just sign up today for rm10 upgrade from 50mbps to 100mbps. So I should pay the same as you.

I was told, only got jumbo lite pack. bleh.

Me too, same as fruitie and with Jumbo pack to boot.

How is your latency? is it really better latency for 100mbps?

I am wondering do I get new router? I started with 30mbps. tq surprise to 50mbps.

If new router, I will try to sell that and buy a RT-AC1900uhp for mesh with my RT-AC86U

Latency same. Just speed change.

My Speedtest results with UniFi 100mbps at 2.4GHz and 5Ghz tested on an iPhone 6s & DLink DIR-868L AP.

user posted image
2.4GHz N 20MHz channel width (Link: 144 mbps)

user posted image
5 GHz AC (Link: 702 mbps)

*Link speeds from the DIR-868L's status page.

Router: Mikrotik RB2011UAS-2HnD
AP: D-Link DIR-868L (2.4 & 5GHz power adjusted to Low since I'm in the same room as the DLink)

What router did TM give you last time? If it's an older model, then yeah, you should be given a new one. Most likely C1200 or DIR-850L.

TP link c5

My latency have never been single digit....

for those in same shoes... maybe something u can try...

unifi 50mbps
hypptv megapack
no free calls
old equipment
out of contract

i had called 100 2-3 weeks ago, was not entertained, told not eligible.
went to tmpoint, told no such promotion.
never did live chat.

i called 100 again this morning... just to try my luck.

this time, the staff was helpful.
he called back when the line was cut.
was told "can"!!

can tell he recorded everything to make it a valid contract.
he read all the terms&conditions and then ask "do you agree, yes or no?"!
i also asked him questions and made sure he answered for the recording.

results:
+rm10
100mbps
600min free calls
jumbo pack (had to give up megapack)
all existing equipment warranty renewed 1 yr
prices and discounts remain same after 24 months.
they will check, if any equipment need to replace, technician will come
7 working days to complete.
given SR no.

so, there u go... my story part 1.
part 2... will see next 7 working days...

Good try. Don't give up

Interesting, TM lump all the RM200 discount into Unifi Pro. My bill will be out next week. Expect to be the same as yours. Also during the RM10 sign-up, when TM read the TnC over the phone to me, there's a clause which says removing Jumbo pack will remove the discounts. No mention of Ruby pack so I guess terminating Ruby in 1 years time should be doable.
STD20 is part of RM299 UniFi Pro. If you go to Unifi.com.my and sign-up for a new line, you'll see it stated there as such.

Makes more sense to remove jumbo instead. For bigger saving.

Sorry if the question got people ask before,

Is there anyway to connect 2 wifi router into a Unifi BTU ? Currently using D-Link DIR-850L provide by TM which is unstable in wifi connection. The connection is inconsistent and easily disconnected even though  i am infront of the wifi router. Previously im using TP-LINK ac1200 D5 to connect my streamyx and the wifi is great.
So my question is there any idea to use two wifi router, one is solely for HYppTv (DIR-850L)and  another is wifi connection such as gadgets , ip cam etc (TP-LINK AC1200) ? And will it affect the speed as well? Please help, i need your guys advice.
*
***daisy chain the tplink to the dlink.

From d-link lan port, connect to tplink lan port ****not the wan port!!!!!

Assuming your dlink lan address is 192.168.1.1

Set up tplink lan ip address to 192.168.1.2 manually or something.

Set up dlink dhcp to only give out address from 192.168.1.10 onwards to 192.168.1.255

Setup tplink to disable dhcp on it. Since your dlink will handle that.

Tplink when set up like that will run as Access point. **your normal wifi setting applies.

dlink wan port connected to the BTU. And the hypptv port 4 still works as per normal.
(you can disable dlink wifi or turn it off so less interference)

Thanks for the reply. But does this work the other way round? Mean that TPlink as my main from BTU. then the DIR-850L from my TPlink. And i will off the DIR-850 wifi (  only use for hyptv purpose). The TPlink will become my main access for internet connection. I notice that if my tplink become the sub from DIR-850L, the ping will become higher. Or can i just replace the DIR-850 to my tplink directly, but im not sure the hypptv will work or not. Sorry for the noob question.
*
The tplink c5 can work by itself. But I don't know if the dlink is higher grade or not. If it is you actually want to use it as main router
