QUOTE(sgpdsmss @ Dec 21 2017, 10:47 PM) aiya...felt waste upgrade from 50Mbps to 100Mbps. if cant get full 100Mbps on 2.4GHz.. If you add on powerline or AP, it won't consume much power. It has nothing to do with the router bro. You have one of the best router already. It has more to do with the wireless interference and congestion in your area, which is to be expected, unless you are staying in some high class gated area with only a few houses around you. My advice is to get a powerline or AP if you can, and just configure it to extend 5GHz.add on AP or power line will consume more power .. i think AC68u can handle nicely but .... |

QUOTE(raemon @ Dec 21 2017, 04:06 PM) I'm curious. If we request for our password, TM will have to do a reset and issue a new one. Where do we enter the new password? Router? How does the BTU get connected? TM very strange one. I think their password reset SOP changes depending on the moon phase or something like that. It can be one of the below:1. Reset to a system generated password and send via SMS. 2. Read existing password over the phone. 3. Reset to unifi123 and read over the phone. 4. Reset to a system generated password and read over the phone. This post has been edited by soonwai: Dec 21 2017, 10:52 PM |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Dec 21 2017, 05:53 PM) To nego, you can go to another TM Point or call 100 to scream politely at em.. As for max speed? I'm in the same boat, they say I can't get more than 30Mbps cuz high floor bla blah.. Been bugging them to come upgrade the infra and for now offer the cheaper price of 139 for 30Mbps pending hardware upgrade (if ever).. Looks like mostly in this thread, those who get 100Mbps are landed props.. Anyone getting 100Mbps in a condo? Pls confirm.. Thanks. Scream politely is the hardest part. I better go to TM Point one day and see what I will get. Thank you for sharing your experience. |

Juts to share folks, after my "thankyou surprise" upgrade to 100Mbps, I was paying rm240.
I start opening a report via live chat. Opened a report. Their reply was to walk in to TMpoint and meet the sales rep/manager Walked in to TMpoint and filed in official report (hand written) indicating unfair payment treatment to long standing customer, especially with current promotion. Within 24 hours received call and sms my payment reduced to rm189+gst |

QUOTE(SilentForever @ Dec 21 2017, 09:36 PM) soonwai fruitie, I just got upgraded to the RYE 2017 where they inform through sms and I reboot btu and router done. I checked the discount is listed as RM150 perpetual? Is this correct? Next one is to wait for new bill to check. I'm on RYE100. I was suppose to get RM200 discount but like you, it only showed RM150 after installation. My bill was the next day so got overcharged. Made a report about this and a few days later TM put in the RM50 discount and rebated me for that bill. Now waiting for my next bill to make sure everything is in order. This post has been edited by soonwai: Dec 22 2017, 12:57 PM |

QUOTE(abcdef123456 @ Dec 21 2017, 03:26 PM) i just told them its not stable, this was my 2nd replacement, probably because still under warranty i guess Hi bro, would like to clarify on the unstable wifi issue before i make my final decision to exchange it for c5v2 router, as to me is unstable is the extremely high ping sometimes when downloading or even just watching youtube (may reach 3000+, will recover by itself but takes some time, sometimes need to keep refresh), normal period, just a slight jump for the ping (download can reach 3-3.6Mbytes/s and able to watch youtube at 1080p at the same time), Im using Unifi 30Mbps. Was wondering unstable wifi issue means this to you bro? |

QUOTE(westlife @ Dec 21 2017, 01:27 PM) no. no replacement of wifi router. i am still using my tp-link archer c5. the most stable and best performance stock router that TM has ever given. Hi bro, would like to clarify on the stable wifi meaning before i make my final decision to exchange it for c5v2 router, does it mean when you downloading the ping doesnt jump high??as to my current c1200, sometimes ping will jump extremely high like few thousands when downloading or even just watching youtube, it will recover to stable state by takes some time, sometimes i will need to keep refreshing to get stable, normal period downloading can reach 3-3.6Mbytes/s and able to watch youtube at 1080p at the same time, will c5v2 router having this issue?Appreciate your feedback |

My current c1200 sometimes will, but recover by itself or sometimes need to keep refresh until it is stable. Download speed can reach >3Mbytes/s and able to watch youtube 1080p same time during stable period. Im using Unifi 30Mbps. Was wondering c5v2 will have this issue, need to clarify this before making final decision to change to c5v2 as being offered by tm? |
