Just buy a gigabit switch. New unit is less than RM50 in Lazada

Don't really need it. It was something I'd thought I'd explore. Thanks.

I'm curious. If we request for our password, TM will have to do a reset and issue a new one. Where do we enter the new password? Router? How does the BTU get connected?

in your previous post you say TM need to reset to provide you new password? I am not sure about this but I did get it 1 time before, I called 100 and request for the PPPoE password and they give me directly, and you can also get it by TM Live Chat.

TM very strange one. I think their password reset SOP changes depending on the moon phase or something like that. It can be one of the below:
1. Reset to a system generated password and send via SMS.
2. Read existing password over the phone.
3. Reset to unifi123 and read over the phone.
4. Reset to a system generated password and read over the phone.

In my case it was almost number 1 but in the end number 2. In a matter of a few hours. biggrin.gif

I recently just joined the unifi bandwagon, as of 28/11. On unifi Lite. Previously was on Streamyx 4M for many, many years. Stumbled on this thread when I was looking for information on TM router. Out of curiosity, for those who upgraded, what do you use the 'extra' bandwidth for? I was more than happy with streamyx. Even with unifi availability at my housing estate middle of this year I was not enthusiastic at the time.
So what brought the change for me. Partly it was 'forced'. TM called and informed that streamyx service will be de-activated in my housing area next year. There is a current promotion for unifi Lite, and the pricing was attractive. So, I flipped. I must say that the transition was almost painless and took only 5 days from registering to installation. There are only 3 of us at home and we are not very heavy users. Reading through this thread I see a lot of people going for upgrading.

You thoughts? biggrin.gif

Streamyx is good, but the extra bandwidth is better for
gaming, better for watching higher quality YouTube videos, faster loading for browsing websites, which saves you time, and faster speed for downloading torrents.

Honestly bro, you are lucky to have Unifi Lite, as most people want Unifi, but unable to get it and still stuck on
Streamyx, which is not ideal for doing many things.
*
Yeah, very grateful right now. icon_rolleyes.gif

One of the advantage is having lower latency on Unifi over the streamyx. It's not noticeable for casual users that browse but for gamers, this is very noticeable.

Change from Lite plan 10Mbps to 30Mbps with monthly RM139

I used LiveChat to enquire about availability of promotion that I was entitled for. Report was created for sales team. They called me 2-3 days later to offer 10M to 30M upgrade. Since I also have the voice plan, it was maintained so in all I should be paying RM159 and as long as I don't alter then plan, the price should be locked even after 24 months. Now awaiting email to confirm the upgrade has been done. smile.gif

Finally, I was able to upgrade my Unifi Lite 10Mbps to 30Mbps after after making second call to 100. Previously I did called 100 and they said I'm not eligible for the upgrade.

Also went to TMPoint and was denied the upgrade as well.

Yes, there is a setting to enable it being used wirelessly, but if you are asking if you can use this wirelessly for Unifi TV, you need to have a router that can support wireless VLAN tagging.

Does TP-Link c1200 fit this role? The one provided by TM.
