May I know if hotlink still providing the hotlink 365? It will be quite irritating if we keep on reload monthly to extend validity

Kindly note that the Validity service is not applicable for Hotlink FAST. We're able to escalate a request to change your plan to Hotlink Bagus 3.0, however do note that this is subject to approval. Also, you will not be able to enjoy the free basic internet service under Hotlink 3.0

Hi tinyback ,

You may check the current plan that you use via Hotlink Red App. The steps will be as per below:

Launch Hotlink Red App > Settings > Rate Plan

PS: Just to view it here & do not press on "Upgrade" if you wish to keep your current plan.

Good day Hotlink!

I'm using Hotlink Fast now & my Hotlink 365 days just expired few days ago. I'm working at oversea and will back for Malaysia annual leave once a year (1 month break).
May i know beside Hotlink Bagus have Validity service still got other plan to choose?
Because during oversea i just need to keep my number alive & no use internet at all but during my break at Malaysia i quite heavy user on internet data.
Or else i can switch the plan between Hotlink Fast and Hotlink Bagus? Means during break i switch to Hotlink Fast and when i back to oversea i switch back to Hotlink Bagus and purchase for validity 365 days. Will this work?

Unfortunately, we are unable to do so. Please maintain one rate plan only. Please note that Validity 365 plan is an obsolete plan and was no longer offer to new subscriber.

I was in Malaysia 4 days ago, I bought the prepaid fast3.0 in kl, while no notice from the service personal that Maxis current service do not offer 365 validality. I have bought the new prepaid sim with top up of extra rm$50. As I stay in oversea, come back once a year, can someone pm me to switch to bagus plan? Else I will be stuck with my current balance of $54 and expire in July.

Hope someone pm me ,helping me convert to bagus plan. Thanks!

In general, the Hotlink Bagus Plan doesn't come with any free basic internet or weekend pass. Any usage of internet without pre-purchase of data pass will be subject to data pay per use charges.

Not available as Postpaid. For Hotlink number, if the number already 90 days as Hotlink, you may appeal for that request .

Hotlink FLEX it's a postpaid plan. Thus, sorry, the validity 365 it's not available for postpaid.

Hi,

The validity 365 is only eligible for Bagus Plan and older.
Plans after that does not eligible to subscribe for validity 365.

those plan to change to 365 plan aka Bagus WM, please call Hotlink customer service in stead, as I tried to ask here, even with credit balance RM50 and use at least 3 months, there are reluctant to change for me. Reason is I'm not study or stay in oversea (need provide some prove)

So, I try my luck call Hotlink customer service. If you fulfil following 2 conditions then you are good to go.
1) At least RM50 credit balance when you do request to change to 365
2) Use at least 3 months.

Hope this help some folks here.

Validity365 plan is an obsolete plan and no longer offered to new subscriber. Please note that the request is subject to approval and your plan will be converted to Hotlink Bagus plan once it had been approved. Hotlink Bagus plan doesn't come with any free basic internet or free weekend data. Any usage of data without pre-purchase of data pass will be subject to pay-per-use charges. Can we know the reason for the request? The request can only be done provided with a valid reason such as if you are in overseas by providing related documents. If you confirm please make sure you have balance of RM50 minimum under your account to proceed with the request.

may i know where i can get a sim card replacement for my current hotlink prepaid sim card, it’s those old type of sim card that i cut and file to nano size for my iphone.

the metal contacts at the side is popping out due to aging. is it possible to change the sim card and retain my number/plan/ existing credits inside?

As I understand from reading the previous replies, it would seem that the Hotlink 365 isn't generally available for regsitering anymore....but some people on legacy plans are still able to get on it?

I am really quite desperate for this plan, because I come from the UK and I often spend 1 month in malaysia, 1 month in the UK, repeating this cyle for the past years. I come here for work.

I often use my number to register for things, and it is annoying when my plan expires...if I top up even 30MYR then this will only cover the time I'm in England and I have to top up again when I get back just to get the internet working. But really I need the internet working for when I land back in the country, not have to mess about topping up again.

Is there any way that I can get moved from hotlink red to hotlink bogus or whatever, and then on to a hotlink 365 plan to save me from this constant battle? Some times in the past I have lost my sim card and number (especially if I've been around other parts of Asia when I stay out here for 2-3 months at a times on occasion) and this has caused a lot of frustration when everything is registered to that number and I come back to Malaysia.

alternatively if validity is your key concern and hotlink wont give you this special plan because now they are big so their shareholders cant profit from such plan. New and smaller company needs such offer to attract new customers.


Option 1
consider Unifi mobile. They do not have validity except you need to have payable charges within certain period of time.

2nd option
Pay for postpaid and maintain to pay every month

Option 3
Consider tunetalk you pay RM100 you get 2 years validity.

Option 4
Pay someone to help maintain your number. If you pay me fairly i can help.

My Hotlink FAST plan does not allow me to Buy Validity - How do I go about getting Validity 365 for RM33?

i.e. I went to *100# > My Account and Others > _________

Buy Validity is not available.

I am using Hotlink 365 feature, I am seeing 10sen getting charged on my account until my credit went 0. The explanation I got from the customer support line is that 10sen will continue to charge on me because I am using the old plan and each time I am in Maxis coverage I will get charged despite my data is not on.

Can anyone explain what is going on?

hi, is that an android phone? most newer android phone have the ability to switch among mobile data and wifi, especially while the wifi signal is weak...
so, if r phone got this function, and u r very sure u already turned it off, then your issue is causing by hotlink , not ur phone. U can see the old post ,Hotlink had this issues for years, and they didn't put enough effort to solve it completely.. hmm.gif

p/s:From your attachment, at 22-02-19 00:16:00 there is a minus charge ! Is that mean hotlink was giving RM0.90 for using the GPRS data ( duration 16:20) , which is interesting.. confused.gif confused.gif

My phone has my data off the whole time. If there is usage, it would not be just 10sen ba. GPRS is charging 10sen per 10kb, and my normal internet usage is not just 10kb. The response I get from Maxis is that the 10sen will continue even your phone data settings is off, because the settings is on 4G and you are in 4G coverage.

The option to prevent this charges is:
1. change settings to 3G
2. request to terminate data completely from Maxis.

Charging 10sen when data is off is not acceptable, and the method of changing from 4G to 3G to avoid this charges is not being given to customers (unless you kena charged kao kao and you call support to investigate).

Oh, just knew if we switched off data roaming and data cellular, will be still charged on 4G network.

As what Westlife has said, just change to 3G and you'll be fine.

I got charged a few times before, until an officer advised me to change to 3G (on top of turning off Data Roam) whenever I'm roaming. Did just that for my Hotlink and all other cards, and not been charged since. icon_rolleyes.gif

(Edit: (Thanks to Hashtag2016 for highlighting) The officer advised me "not to use 4G" while roaming so I switched to 3G. I was roaming in Singapore where there's no more 2G.)

received sms mentioned that topup using this method is no longer available after 16 april. all topup must make through hotlink red app.

I'm interested in getting a prepaid plan but need a longer validity than 1 month, perhaps 6 months or 1 year. Interested in getting Hotlink as secondary line since I'm a Celcom postpaid user. Is there any plan with this criteria?

Hi Thank you for your Interest with our Hotlink, We do not have such required validity, but our prepaid will be valid the amount of top u, Lets say Rm10 will be valid for 10 days and 50 days on Grace before fully expired.

Hi Maxis, I know certain package can convert to "#hotlink" plan by dial *365# to got 365 validity. But the rm60 is for one time convert plan or everytime i want extend 365 days instead lastime rm33 extend fees? tq

Please be advised as there is no top up required after validity purchase unless you have set up auto-renewal. For auto-renewal, you will need to ensure there is enough balance to cover for next renewal.

no need, your info is obsoleted .
Since they had rename the Hotlink365 to Validity365, and introduce Validity 90 , topup RM30 is not require..
but u still have spend money to buy the validity. For successful buying the validity , ur account need to have enough money left(after buying the validity, a few ringgit, not sure how much exactly..) .. .

don't know why they need to remove the auto renewal function, bcs i set that function for my elderly parents who are bad with tech stuff. also you can't renew it from the hotlink app. Have to do so many steps dial 100, etcetc...

Good day. Im not Hotlink user, but have a lot of friends whose family members are using Hotlink Prepaid legacy plans together with the yearly purchased VALIDITY 365 plan.
And they're not well-versed in BM or English.

They have been long time customers with average 10 ~ 20 yrs tenure on Hotlink Prepaid, and most of them are senior age users.

They are advised by Hotlink customer service that, if they want to fully get rid of the Data PPU issue which cost them max RM 10 per day, then they need to upgrade to latest Hotlink plans.

When they asked the customer service , if they had upgraded to new Prepaid plan, then what about the VALIDITY 365 ? Because they need to maintain on this plan for various reasons.

So they were advised that, after 3 months tenure on latest Prepaid plan, acc active, total credit balance more than RM 65, then they can dial from mobile , *365# to change to Hotlink Hashtag and purchase VALIDITY 365 plan at RM 60 from their Hotlink credit .

However, when they asked, what about subsequent year for VALIDITY 365, there was not a clear answer.

hi, do u mean #hotlink ?
Don't believe them.. nowadays, those CS only try to con u or cheat u to change your existing plan to newer useless one.
If u change your plan, u cannot get your old plan back anymore.
The #hotlink that we knew about ,doesn't support validity365,..

U can simply ask them to disable the GPRS for your old plan, then u won't get GPRS charge anymore...
If they refuse to do so, u can simply complaint to mcmc/skmm .
as simple as that.. brows.gif


and of course, after disable gprs, your friends don't have mobile data anymore..(don't worry, u still can use the WIFI)
but, they don't have to change anything else or change the old habit..
and don't need other un-clear term-and-condition "suspiciuos" plan ...


In case they still need a mobile data after that, simply asking them to get a dual sim phone, and grab another sim card from other telco, just for that mobile data.
(Hotlink simply don't want your money from the mobile data, so they create alot of hassle to u. so u don't buy data from them, just buy mobile data from others telco.. )... icon_rolleyes.gif

p/s: in case u don't know, modern android phone had ability to switch to mobile data while Wi-Fi is weak(mostly under WIFI advanced option)..
u have to make sure it is DISABLED, or u got PPU charge .... If u don't want to disable the gprs completely from the holink old plan...

btw, even if u do everything right, u might still get the shocking charge ...their system has flaw,might charge u illegally, even u disable mobile data from the phone, every setting is correct, and use wifi only.

they dont want you to keep auto renew because as a business they cant benefit profit from there imagine every year 35 ,35 35, 35 35 same profit.. Imagine you forget renew the number might go out of validity period so you need reload to extend .

Now imagine 35, forget renew need top up 30 then a wise person will use 30 days before upgrade to 35 validity

Hmmm .....

You are the 2nd person to mention this unpublished option ... I myself was curious as I'm still on #hotlink plan and already found the validity 365 in ussd menu *100# a couple of months back ... so ... presumably once your yearly validity lapses, you should still be able to sub by using the ussd menu as long as you fulfill the criteria ...

Dual sim is a safer option, just throw any expired sim at slot 2 and rmb to turn in on and set to data only. Works fine for me even tho showing no network.

Hotlink web pages have gone through numerous changes and updates but they never retain old info properly. Only latest plan is updated and valid. For ex:, FAST v1 initially was allowed validity365 but was removed in FAST v2 ... Digging through hotlink website won't get you very far when looking for actual #hotlink infos either ...There's also no mention of how *365# really works on the website ... That's why you're here ...

Seems to me that some may be having lotsa doubt and making an allegation of improper conduct by hotlink CS ... I assure you that its not my job to assure you of anything ... yet, I suggest to keep an open optimistic mind with a grain of salt ready ...

the Fast plan people was allow to changed to Bagus plan at that very moment.. (with CS doing at the back end, not by user themselves)
just like the one #HOTLINK we are talking about now.
but, the big different is, those Fast plan users was jumped into a existing plan with crystal clear term& condition. Hotlink did care about their reputation.
the #hotlink plan we are talking about is not, something shady is happening.. laugh.gif

btw, whatever they told u,as a consumer, u still have right to ask them disable it for your old old plan .. no technical issue after all..
and it is not fair for asking consumer to switch to another un-clear term&condition plan .
users can keep complaint those unfair treatment to skmm/mcmc until the problem been solved properly.

for other non-365 validty plan users, they got nothing to loose, memang no problem for that...

just changed my plan from unlimited to hotlink WM with *365# option...I say it is better than my wife hotlink bagus even though it is double the cost @rm 60 as without any pass my credit is not deduct. Can use WhatsApp...I assume it same as free basic internet speed, anyone know how to check the quota?

If you are in Singapore, you can go to Woodlands to get on the Maxis network to do it. Just gotten the 365 Validity for my hotlink line there myself.

If not anywhere near the Malaysian borders, no choice, have to call up Maxis directly and ask them to help you do it. Just make sure you have sufficient balance first, which I guess you obviously have.

here is an example based on my understanding
Most valued plan: 10GB plan @ RM20
1. 365 day SIM active pass @ RM30
This mean once you pay and deducted RM50,
you can enjoy 365 days of active internet with 10GB
2. Top up RM5 every 60 days.
In the year end you will have RM30 balance and this is able to purchase the 10GB plan again for second year

1. Do you still get Hotlinkmu Offers once on Hotlink 365 plan? or only the 3 plans of 2gb, 4gb and 10gb

2. What is the voice call rate for this Hotlink Prepaid Internet 365 plan as compared to the Hotlink Red ECEM?

3. Once switched over, if I'm not happy/not suitable to this plan, is it possible to switch to another Hotlink plan? or only able to go to either Hotlink Postpaid or Maxis Postpaid afterwards?

seems like the hotlinkmu offers aren't very attractive anymore - 1.5gb for 30 days at RM28 is quite expensive unless it refreshes 1.5gb daily or with unlimited calls to all network

what about the internet speed? full speed or will be limited to 3/6 Mbps?
planning to switch to this plan since there will be no wastage of quota

Received by sim pack from courier yesterday. Can't register using the Hotlink Daftar app. Capturing IC copy using camera is just impossible even lighting is perfect.

Now the app asks me to go to Maxis centre for registration. Beats the purpose of buying this pack online. Might as well went to Maxis centre to buy the pack and register all at once. *facepalm*

Settings > rate plan > upgrade, then choose Hotlink Internet 365

1) Downgrade of rate plan + activation of validity 365 is RM60.
2) Must have a minimum balance of RM65.
3) Your current account must be at least 3 months tenure and above​ to be eligible for this package.

If all the above are met, you may Dial *365# and follow the steps shown on your phone. TQ

Nobody can guarantee that, they can change anything at anytime , I'm afraid.
eg: The old old hotlink validity365 (the old plan u had), it used to be stackable, we can topup RM100, and then buy validity365 with RM33 immediately,
and we get 100days+365days=465days validity in total. But they changed it about 2 years ago. No more stackable, the new validity start from the day u topup or buy the validity365

  • No active10 (cannot call to your favourite numbers in low call rate anymore).
  • Grace period only 30days !!! (sb may lose their phone numbers, if they didn't notice this change. especially who coming from the old old plan that had 90 days Grace Period)
  • Charge rate and charge block is increase. (which mean call out/sms shall be more expensive than before)
  • (covid19) By default, u cannot use Free 1GB Productivity Internet (that for covid19), u have to purchase any mobile Internet passes first (eg:2GB Internet/365days for RM6.00 => which is 2GB in total for 365days.) .
    Please be notice , u need to redempt the Free 1GB manually everyday by *100# or hotlink app, The term & condition of 1GB Productivity may change from time to time without further notice. .

I will choose 1 year, I've been using hotlink for past 21 years and my credit reached about rm 400 to 500. Few years ago i have been giving away my credit to my wife and kids. Now brought it down to rm 200+. So this 365 thingy is heaven sent for us.

Yes I been buying validity 365 for many years now. Just that no mobile data when I go out, if there is a plan rm20 for 1 year Internet that would be great.

I am currently in sg and I found out that my plan has expired .. I have a balance of 40 .. and I would like to activate the 365 but the option is not available when I type *100#

*100# > 6 (MyAccount & others) > 3 (Buy Validity)

p/s: please be noticed: the validity is start from the day u buy it. eg:u still have 30 active days, u buy the 365 validity, u only got 365 activate days!! (In old days , we can get 30+365=395 days)

Comparing both plans, bagus plan has zero reason to keep.

365 new plan has the following advantages which bagus has none at all.
1) cheaper 365 validity by rm3
2) no pay per use data, if no data pass purchased, no data cost will be incurred. This is totally good for elderly to use to prevent for unintended data usage
3) cheap data pass that lasts for up to 1 year
4) easy to keep the line active even no 365 validity purchase, rm5 top up can keep the line active for 60 days already.

This morning I visited Maxis Centre KLCC to port one of my prepaid lines into Hotlink Internet 365, only to be told the system is down since December.

I had planned this MNP for weeks, including winding down my credit and validity on the number to be ported. So I decide to port to other telco.

Tried again on Friday and port out rejected, I suspect Maxis sent request to wrong telco.

Go back Maxis Centre Saturday night and finally submitted successfully.

Now waiting patiently on the process.

I have barely been using this plan for a week and it seems the goalposts are moving.

A highly irregular move by Maxis to rebrand and change the rules.

I request comment from @Maxis on whether the 365 days validity pass for RM30 will be maintained in the light of the name change?

I'm still on Hotlink FAST 3.0 plan. Should I quickly change to Hotlink Internet 365 and subscribe to 365 days unlimited?

I've been doing the RM5 top-up for a long time. It's has RM350 credit in it and don't know what to do with it...

Main line with DIGI at the moment. will be using Digi/Hotlink Internet most of the time depending on coverage/speed.

Which you can enjoy RM10 reload for 30 days validity. Old H365 is reload rm5 for 60 days validity.

Hie, my parents plan is the talk plan and currently on 365 validity. Its around expiring july 2022.

Should i change to pantas?? Definitely would like the data + long validity, for mysejahtera usage. But more need for calls and sms as my parents not so savvy to surf with phone.

Anyone knows how does the hotlink Jom Invite Member works? is it referee needs to register new number only able to get? And seems like Pantas plan not available for referee, only the unlimited plan.

For hotlink pantas plan, If i reload rm10, i will get 30 days validity right? Then i use that rm10 to buy the rm10 5gb no wastage data. On 31st day, i reload again rm10 to get another 30 days validity. If my earlier 5gb no wastage data havent finish, will it be carried forward to 31st-60th days new validity period that i got?

I've got roughly RM200 credit currently in my hotlink prepaid unlimited account. Just been reloading only, haven't been purchasing data plans due to having free data on another sim. Quite rarely will use for calls (emergency situation, otherwise whatsapp calls enough).

The Pantas plan seems okay? If I convert, then I can just spend RM30 for 365 days validity and no need to reload? Probably also spend RM2 for a few GB in case I suddenly need data where my backup sim no coverage (e.g. parking lot). Then on no need spend anything for a year right?

Correct. by converting from unlimited plan to this Pantas u pay rm5 one time which can be deducted from ur balance too. then pay rm30 which u no need to constantly reloading to keep it activate.

Think no issue to switch, as long as they are the ‘current’ plans. Just need to pay rm5 each time. haha.

hey all, do you have any connectivity issues with Hotlink Prepaid today? I have totally no mobile data even though i have internet pass and my sim is still active. I tried to put on airplane mode and renable also cant fix the issue. Also tried to restart phone.

UPDATE: No worries, already fixed but disable SIM and reenable SIM card on the phone.

so i gave up and switch to other prepaid for data.

I have both plans. Bagus calls more expensive and no cheap/long life internet. However so far the plan remain as is after so many years. Good for me just to receive calls without data/internet.

For Pantas got long life 365 internet. Cheapest 2GB RM4 365 days which is more than enough for my this number. However Maxis revamp this plan less than one year after its re-launch. Hence, we will never know if Maxis is going to revamp Pantas in the coming future again.

For Pantas got long life 365 internet. Cheapest 2GB RM4 365 days which is more than enough for my this number. However Maxis revamp this plan less than one year after its re-launch. Hence, we will never know if Maxis is going to revamp Pantas in the coming future again.

Exactly my concern is that Maxis might anytime change the TnC of Pantas plan anytime (we know Maxis would just change their plans without sufficient heads up anyway)
Cuz I have two sim both on the old Bagus plan for both work and personal number.

Just that I like Pantas becuz of the 365 validity and the 365 data which i need for data purposes.
Probably get a Pantas sim just so to hotspot my other two sim so that i can use them when im out and about

hotlink app offers rm6 bonus for rm30 reload using card

then when i tried to reload, it says "you're not authorized to view this page, payment canceled" or something like this. happened to me last month too and i ended up reloading using online banking

anybody knows what happened?

if you not heavy data usage and mostly rely on wifi. then total purchase of rm60 ( rm30 for 365 active, rm30 for 20GB) will last u 1 year.

There is no speed cap on your purchased data of XX GB.

In general that's true across all telcos. The faster you burn finish the GB the more revenue they can make from you as you keep buying.

The cap is more for those 'unlimited' plans.

Same here, ive been trryng to activate the sim since last week, all failed and called hotlink they ask to walk in to centre...wth, we buy only to avoid going to the centre.

After reading here, notice with Pantas plan 365 cost RM30 only, where the old plan need RM33.

ur question is too general. each person hv diff usage thus diff need and diff plan.
you need to check urself which is the most benefit to u. check the TnC as well.

for this Hotlink Pantas, i hv used it for my phone, my car's android headunit and my wife phone.
bought rm30 for 1 year validity.
and bought rm30 for 20GB of data, valid 1 year.

both me and my wife, always use wifi. so the data only used when going outside. normally i will bought the rm30/20G data few times in a year, my wife's normally bought 2 times. while my car only once. 20G is enough for 1 year of usage for lite youtube, waze/google maps/spotify in my car.

so based on here, i can calculate my spending for my phone alone
= rm30 for 1year validity , around 4x times bought the rm30/20G data = total amount spend for 1 year= rm150 for 80G per year, rm12.5 for 6.6GB per month.
which this amount not include total cost for call, which is pay per use( im very2 seldom use phone call), and sometimes bought the hotlinkMU data passes promo that more cheaper/more GB per rm on festive session like Raya/CNY etc.

its suite my usage and my budget, which is less than rm20 per month. laugh.gif

If your area got 5G then YES is the best. Unlimited data, unlimited calls for just RM25 (use auto debit). Not sure when it will end though.

XOX? Might as well take Yoodo. XOX at best 10GB+5GB for RM50. If you use 5-10GB per month, I might as well just take Yoodo RM20 for 20GB plus it has 5G trial now and also VOLTE. XOX still selectively activating VOLTE.

Which telco did you tried to port from? Hotlink never mention this but it is currently impossible to port in from Celcom MVNO aka Yoodo, XOX, Tunetalk, RedOne etc. You would have to walk in.

Also recently I walked in a Maxis reseller to port in. Guess what... they are starting to play games. Told me I cant port in to Pantas directly, and I had to port in to Postpaid first then call in to downgrade to prepaid. I just walked out. doh.gif

I'm currently on the Hotlink Fast plan (free 1GB weekend + active5). Good to switch to Hotlink Pantas? Still RM10 for 30days validity? Hotlink Fast still using RM1/day validity. Have too much credit now.

Hey guys, I am in a similar situation. Have been using my Hotlink number (Bagus WM plan) overseas for years. Unfortunately it looks like the *100# no longer works in my location and I am unable to renew the 365 validity.

I have recently read about renewing the validity via Hotlink app but requires a plan upgrade to Pantas. Is this my only option? Alternatively I am planning to come back during CNY next month so perhaps I could stick on my old plan (by topping up for the next 30 or so days) and then do the *100# method?

I’m on Pantas plan now and can confirm the 365 exists.

Anybody on the new Jaguh 5G esim plan ? May i know if they still have the 365 days validity passes ?

can confirm still exist too. tested on Bagus WM plan, can change directly from Bagus WM to Pantas Plan in the Hotlink App, I think is RM5 or RM2 was deducted, cannot remember.
At that time, the 365 days of Bagus WM was not expired, but it can still changing it anyway, and then got Pantas Plan and 30days active perod.
last time I check around National day 2025.

p/s: please be noticed , the GRACE PERIOD for Pantas Plan is 30days ONLY. (after 30days don't topup ,ur phone number GG!! ) ..
not like the good old BagusWM, it has 90days Grace period days.

Does it come with any validity plan can buy to keep the no active?

Becos my friend said he had activated something that can make the no last about 180 days or so.

The rahmah plan is RM30 for 30 GB (180 days validity), applicable to all hotlink plans.

icic. then not bad le. got 30GB at the same time also can last for 6 months. really suitable for low usage ppl.

Exactly. Effectively rm60 per year, comparable with long life, and gives decent amount of data which is more than enough for WhatsApp and a bit of other non heavy use.

Rm35. No data. You can buy data at rm2 per GB. So if you will use less than 12gb data in the year it is cheaper.

Having higher data availablity is good though just in case. Very good for old people line (who have WiFi at home most of the time), for children who don't carry their phones all the time out of house, or as backup line for when your main loses 4g coverage.
