For anyone porting from UMOBILE to WEBE, how long it approximately takes until you can use new webe sim card? I was informed by WEBE they just closed my delivery order and have filed port in request to UMOBILE and it may take 3-5 working days..Sooo long.

like i said lor, usual standard mnp SLA (service level agreement) to release is up to 5 days. all telco use this number to manage customer's expectation.

if they overpromise, they'll getting screwed by us for taking longer than promised. laugh.gif

in previous webe thread, i did say that telco play dirty tricks (e.g. wrong IC number) to delay mnp when it's ending quarter, e.g. march, june, september, december. this is to keep their subs reported higher when closing quarter.

Livechat is useless. I used livechat yesterday to inform that I have collected my sim card at the courier branch so I wanted them to close my order and proceed my MNP request. Today when I call WEBE (after 15 minutes of waiting), I was informed my order has yet to be closed. So, call center customer officer close the order today and proceed with MNP process.

depends. new telco, coverage expanding, more to improve.

only way is to signup yourself and try.

same like other telco, some area fast some area slow. this is wireless broadband anyway.

Waiting period for the sim card so far was 2 days max. My principal line upon receiving I didn't tell them that I received nor that the stupid courier. So port over was delayed till more than a week. After live chat and a phone call all was done in less than an hour.

My supplementary 1 line.... Port over was less than 2 days.

So far so good. Lesson learned by myself is that upon receiving is to inform them so they can immediately conduct port out request from the soon to be ex network.

So far my experience with their live chat and call in is good.

i bought one redmi note 4 from lazada for net price of under RM650 after discount and cashback from cc.

works great with webe broadband and able to hotspot out flawlessly. normal usage with webe mobile works fast as well.

Guess what shocking.gif ??? I immediately open up live chat and asked them regarding my 2nd line (MNP DiGi prepaid to WEBE) registered on 26th December and received SIM card on the 28th December 2016. Yet the porting still shows "processing".

The feedback was? "The delivery process was not close" which means either Line Clear did not feedback them (Webe) or Webe themselves could have missed out my application (whereas paid/settled for the so called processing fee RM106)? vmad.gif mad.gif

So i got distracted and accidentally bought this webe and mnp my umobile to this plan.

As far as I know... There is no NEW tnc.. It still the same.
Speed restriction is obviously tweak by WeBe since day one on no tethering policy.

Playstore download and YouTube are speed capped average 300K/s ...
Speed on depend on location.
At certain days... It become slow and I have experience it as well.

But this few days is back to normal.
Speedtest actually show possible actual speed on that location currently.
But you will still face speed capped even though you could have go higher speed in fact.
Maybe buy tethering plan will unlock speed capped?

Guys, I just signed up webe yesterday.
Tested webe with my phone (Google pixel), got 7mb per second in their outlet (queensbay penang)
However, their staff use the same sim card, in the same location, he gotten 40mb per second!! His phone is one plus 1

Any idea what made the differences?

I'm using oneplus one. The phone does not support band 5 lte so the staff must be connected to band 38/40 instead maybe thats why its faster. I've got lte on my phone somewhere in mid valley and the speed is about 20~30 mbps. Never reached 40 though.

by default hp will connect to highest signal tower ( low - RSRP value) even in congest. try to change tower. speed will be better even lower signal as long not more than -90dbm rsrp
the concept 4 bar signal / not congest > 5bar signal but congest tower.
if you can find full bar signal & not congest is a bonus, may get more than 20mbps

For the prorated, maybe it's start counting from the date you bought this webe plan? I can see you pay on 1/12/2016 using m2u.

For the advance, just like someone said before, webe use prepaid system, pay first then use.

I used 2 weeks. Paid RM212 (2 lines) less than 30 days
Now have to pay some more 108 ringgit for less than 30 days.
*
That page looks correct to me. Why do you say you have to pay 108 more?

I couldn't see the first page, but it should be negative for this bill with "(xx.xx)".

You payment includes pro-rated until end of December and entire January.

And yes, billing date starts 1st of every month.

It was less than 20 hours for me.

I made the payment in the afternoon and the port in was successful the first thing in the next morning. After that I can straight away use the webe SIM.

that's why i wrote before, next best multi-frequency modem would be

Huawei E3276s-920

* 4G Band 38/40 (TDD 2300/2600MHz)
* 3G UMTS/HSPA+ 900/2100MHz
* GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz

at least this modem supports the higher throughput frequency from webe, not tmgo devices which is limited to band 5/850mhz (slow throughput)

for mifi, i dont think there's any available here, unless webe start to bring their devices. hmm.gif

The thing about webe is if you want to port out, you will have to port out all of your numbers in that particular account. Was told by live chat personnel.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jan 5 2017, 03:49 PM)
that's why i wrote before, next best multi-frequency modem would be

Huawei E3276s-920

* 4G Band 38/40 (TDD 2300/2600MHz)
* 3G UMTS/HSPA+ 900/2100MHz
* GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz

at least this modem supports the higher throughput frequency from webe, not tmgo devices which is limited to band 5/850mhz (slow throughput)
for mifi, i dont think there's any available here, unless webe start to bring their devices. hmm.gif
*
but this model no 4G support for celcom digi maxis umobile blush.gif
need LTE band 3, 5, 7, 8, 40 cool2.gif
TMgo can nego with dlink, huawei and zte for bundle device. let see how long webe can do that.

dont expect tmgo liao, their product maybe merged with webe for wireless broadband future roadmap hmm.gif

problem with mifi/usb modems are supported frequencies. even huawei E3276s itself has many submodels.

i guess this is the usual chicken-and-egg situation. there's no market demand (yet) to force device manufacturers to offer more frequencies.

sign up now you will only need to pay 79+tax for life.. until u cancel. Think I saw some user said steam is pretty fast. No cap. PS4.. you will need to be able to put the sim in ps4? webe mobile has no way to tether wifi.. or you can subscribe 2hrs for RM6 to tether it..

How to check my sim delivery status? I've paid on 3/1/2017 and not yet received any confirmation about the delivery date. I already got the tracking number than can't be used yet that is WEBE*****. Delivery address is in Kelantan.

The order status online look like this.

Can anyone tell me whether USB tethering is allowed or not?

Like connecting my handphone to the PC via USB and downloading through it?

Will I get billed extra later on "Others"?

Yes, you can tether your phone to any other phones/tablets to share your data plan, however this is not enabled by default.

To enable tethering, follow this steps :

CODE
STEP 1 : Login to your Self-Care account at https://webe.com.my/selfcare
STEP 2 : Click 'Subscriptions'
STEP 3 : Under Data Value Added Services, select Personal WiFi 2-hours pass
STEP 4 : Click 2 on 'Buy'  and then 'Confirm' to purchase

You can now tether to any phone by enabling WIFI sharing in your phone.

The usage start from the 'Confirm' stage and last throughout the duration of the pass .

The pass charges will be reflected in your next month bill.

and
QUOTE
For other mobile operator, tethering is enabled by default and it will consume your monthly allocation (this means you always have to purchase additional top up data).

webe is the only service provider in Malaysia that offers UNLIMITED mobile data , as such we are unable to provide free tethering service.

How do you even "steam" with a phone? AFAIK the only way to do it is to tether to a pc/ laptop with steam.

because usb modem is not tether. But webe's new TnC makes it so that webe's sim cards are meant to be used with devices with voice dialing capabilities. In the first iteration of their tnc, (which you can find in the v1) you'll see that usb modems were exclusively "OKAY" to be used.

Unless the network support VoLTE, this is the standard behavior.

For example, you won't see this on DiGi on iPhone.

Band 33 to 46 are TDD and 1 to 32, 65 to 70 are FDD. By just looking at the frequency band, we can tell the duplex mode is FDD or TDD already.

because usb modem is not tether. But webe's new TnC makes it so that webe's sim cards are meant to be used with devices with voice dialing capabilities. In the first iteration of their tnc, (which you can find in the v1) you'll see that usb modems were exclusively "OKAY" to be used.
*
Smartphone using USB cable connect to PC is the same as using USB modem.

for modem...need to "dial in mode" dashboard ...if using web dashboard dial in...i believe cannot work
for smartphone...using "USB tethering" from phone menu mean you will be directed to web page asking you to purchase "tethering fee"
but if you use the "dial in mode" software..then it is the same as modem capability.
it is "exclusively "OKAY"

above are for those who afraid of rooting their phone.

But if you have rooted your phone.
then the "dial in mode" software can even hotspot without the need for usb cable
tested and proven

SMS from digi requesting confirmation should be almost immediate. If not call digi, and then Webe

For example, you won't see this on DiGi on iPhone.

Its not that i disagreed with you.

Its webe that is disagreeing with you. At least their new tnc is.

To them the definition is to have a voice-enabled dialing device, aka phones, not other form factors.
Months back their definition was different, phones and exclusively USB modems for single use. It was clearly stated in their TnC.

I believe WeBe will monitor those who are download Kaki almost everyday.
As for the rest... Moderate usage should be ok as long you just streaming YouTube... Etc.. Streaming.

WeBe will know when you download kaw kaw... Let say you download one 1GB movie within mins as compare when streaming.. It will take at less 45mins to 1hour..

This type of heavy download,,,, I believe will kena kaw kaw if WeBe really enforce the NEW policy.

You can check in v1, the terms and conditions, there were snapshots of it. compare to today's webe, it'll say

1. p2p speed capped at 64kbps
2. youtube capped at 480p
3. does not come at tethering service, need to purchase tethering pass (from them)

Previously line 3 would have mentioned "usb modem for single use is okay".

Probably. Lately their new tnc in their "acceptable use policy" pointed out to many things, which has been screenshotted and posted up in this thread. You can check on webe's 'acceptable' use policy.
which also answers a few of above questions, at here

https://www.webe.com.my/webe-agreements/web...-use-policy.pdf

What baffles me was that previously no such clauses exist, but now it does. Which includes
- downloading, streaming CAN be considered straining their network
- using VPN / proxy is not allowed (wtf?)
- using webe Mobile Service’s SIM Card in a non 'mobile voice' device; <-- the line ends like that with ";" before moving on to next point, so we would not know what 'examples'. But clearly painting a picture towards usb modem and possibly non voice tablets

And if you look at the page, it says no throttling, but reading at the 'acceptable use policy', makes me laugh because its so contradictory.

bill is on the 1 of each month. for you, your 1st bill will be on 1 Feb.

on this bill, got few charges:

1) prorated monthly fee from 8 Jan to 31 Jan. This is your current month charges since activation on 8 Jan until 31 Jan.
2) advance monthly fee from 1 Feb to 28 Feb. Basically you are charged 1 month in advance first.
3) repeat same thing the #webenow discount. got prorated and advance as well.
4) additional charges, such as roaming or idd call charge, which are not covered under this unlimited thingy.

what you going to pay by 22 Feb (this is payment due date, which is 21 days after bill date on 1 Feb bill) is.....

advance payment that you paid during registration = RM106 minus all the charges above.

FYI, your plan will remain perpetually RM79 monthly from 1 Mar onwards (cuz 1 Feb bill got proration, that is why higher).

New Agreements I did go thru... It is normal for business to cover all the Ass in TnC in case consumer decide to report them to SKMM.. MCMC.. Etc
All Telco always update their TnC to their benefit.

As for speed limit for YouTube.. Playstore.... I got capped that way despite testing in various location.
As for modem thingy... That only my point of view but my guess WeBe definitely install a monitoring software so that to understand and analyse consumer appetite for data especially.

The port out confirmation message comes from your current Telco... not Webe.. (unless, Webe didn't process your port request, but i doubt that)
You should ask your current telco on your port out progress
BTW... which telco are you porting out? I know there's certain telco that doesn't send the SMS and reject your application for no reason.

Yes, because I've received complains from other users saying that you were arguing about the newly set agreement. It is just that webe haven't enforce it yet.

All of the google service is capped to 200KB/s, not only playstore and youtube. Basically, 40% of the websites shown on google are managed by them. So if you want to access to the websites or download stuffs from the websites, it will all be capped at 200KB/s.

Update on this. Webe CS said there was an error during port-in, turns out it's because one of the numbers was data-only thus can't be ported. Since, webe said have to port all numbers in one line, I derped out and ported broadband too sweat.gif Now waiting for full refund then have to re-register because all the numbers are in one order.

My sim arrived! So far, very very impressed with the speed at Sabah in a relatively non-busy area.

Could I get an invite to group with all the cool people?

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jan 6 2017, 10:01 PM)
bill is on the 1 of each month. for you, your 1st bill will be on 1 Feb.

on this bill, got few charges:

FYI, your plan will remain perpetually RM79 monthly from 1 Mar onwards (cuz 1 Feb bill got proration, that is why higher).

this, the upgrade and re-tuning season for all telcos per skmm circular. bear with it, don't jump out in haste. sometimes, they also need to reset their device somewhere, just like we sometime get BSOD on windows.

hello fellow webe users,

I am using webe for a month now as 2nd sim in my phone, am getting quite reliable speed (10 - 11 Mbps) on it.
I didn't want to do illegal tethering bypass, but was keen on using it my laptop, so end up buying a USB dongle for it.

Based on one of the old post in V1/V2, I purchased a Huawei E8372h-608 from LAZADA. Before buying, I double checked the frequencies to make sure it works, but regretfully I didn't noticed the key T&C in the pinned V4 post which states MiFi are not allowed, cry.gif

After receiving the Huawei E8372h-608, I wanted to get it to work, even tried to disable the Wifi module from the webUI ... but sadly it still doesn't work. What I get is, the webUI says it is connected to Celcom 3G but there is almost no internet connection/traffic coming in. I suspected the dongle was faulty so I tried using it with my Digi, and it was blazing away with 20 Mbps rclxub.gif

Since it has come to this, I would like to check with you all:
1) is there any hope to legally use the Huawei E8372h-608 with webe?
2) else, can the TMGO dongle work with webe? I will sell off this E8372h-608 and get the TMGO if it works
3) can someone add me into the webe telegram group, my nickname is: kerbaurider

Sorry about the TMGO question, I know it has been repeatedly asked in this forum but would really like to get a confirmation before spending more money on dongles.

Lastly, I believe I am not violating this thread's house rules, as I am not asking about how do bypass tether.

Thanks notworthy.gif

Modem with webUI will not work even if it doesn't have WiFi feature.

TMgo USB modem is a waste of money (and it doesn't support other 4G band like band 38 and 40) as sellers jacked up the price from RM115 to well above RM200 for quick profit because of the demand.

Surprise that no IT vendors has promoted this type of device in the market, should be quite hotselling.

typical chicken-and-egg situation for new tech.

no demand, why device manufacturer support it?

need somebody to start trigger it.

same like Apple. they keep introducing new tech where market not support/mature yet. once they intro new tech, with enough users, the other parties will start offering 3rd-party device/accessories into the same ecosystem.

webe also same. lte frequency not popular among big 4: maxis, digi, celcom, umobile.

so there is no demand, not enough customers to trigger device manufacturers to do something. why would they spending $$ to support smallish group of users?

2 ways moving forward:

1) big telcos adopting same frequencies as webe. very very unlikely..... or
2) webe themselves offering their own devices to flood the market, enough for their customers.

once the ecosystem started, device manufacturers will take notice. i hope big device manufacturers like huawei or zte or even dlink begin to bring in their new devices tha support additional frequencies, including the odd ones like webe or even YES smile.gif

Wonder this device fits the criteria?
http://www.ecvv.com/product/4704505.html

But only good for WebeBroadband not WebeMobile.

new technology/standard introduction and mass market adoption will always have about 2-5 years gap.

couple with respective regulatory body (ahem~mcmc~ahem), take a guess. lol lol

good example is malaysia's LTE adoption hahhaha

after being on Webe for almost a month, I ported another line in for Webe and I'm very satisfied with the service. some occasion 3G/LTE dropping in between, but overall it's negligible. the most important factor is the unlimited data usage which provides a total peace of mind. without worrying or thinking about quota is the best feeling.

Hey guys,

I asked Tmnet to install streamyx at my house(since no unifi), they checked, somebody stole the cable. They will report this but there is no guarantee the cable will be replaced since my house is the only house in that area.

So, they suggest to go with wireless broadband. Since I am planning to install cctv and connect it wirelessly, I need unlimited wireless broadband(unlimited data). Webe mobile is the only wireless internet with unlimited data. How do I get in to run as a normal wifi? Help! Anybody! Serious

Yes, finally i got the detail of my sim delivery. The culprit that cause the delay is actually Gdex. The package already arrive on 6/1 but not delivered by the branch. Will go to the branch today.

Like someone post before,

1. Call/chat Webe (Get WEBE***** tracking number)
2. Call Line Clear Express (Give WEBE*****, get Gdex Tracking Number) *Gdex if No Line Clear Service in your area
3. Track Online/call using Gdex Tracking Number.

I've reported about GDEX's incompetence to SKMM. I received a call from their HQ last week apologizing for the issue. I have her a good lecture about the incompetence of their branch and the petrol cost and time I had to spend to drive to the branch (about 30km from my home). She said they will further investigate the issue. Reporting to SKMM is my only option to address my displeasure towards GDEX since I fear the legal risk of throwing eggs at their outlet.

Okay so i got a call from Webe this morning on the RM79 mobile plan offer (free fixed and mobile local calls + unlimited data).

Want to jump into the bandwagon but heard there's some TAC issue? Using UOB and CIMB internet banking so this is a big no-no for me. Can anyone here confirm that this has been fixed? This is a huge showstopper for me.

Also, has anyone here used the card on any broadband dongle?

Do you block Peer-2-Peer (P2P) usage?
We DO NOT block access to P2P like Bit Torrent, UTorrent and others, however to ensure that P2P does not consume all the bandwidth from all other users, we do throttle the speed of P2P applications.

Any Mifi that support band 38/40 or band 5 will be good. As for 3G, as long as it works with any telco in Malaysia, it will work on webe.

It "will" be implemented if the cell tower(s) in your zone are overloaded or congested. Hence, the capped/throttling download speed is true but not capped or throttled all the time.

If you foresee the capped speed, it's time for u to fully use webe after midnight hours. A very unfortunate case-by-case basis.

Put the SIM into other non-iPhone. Test kaw-kaw.

If everything is OK, reboot the iPhone. Else, change SIM card at webe kiosk.

I don't think that his bro is so dumb to buy broadband sim to use on IPhone.
Should be webemobile sim.
Some more complain to WeBe customer service as well.

Don't tell me WeBe customer service also sleeping without realizing that the is sim is actually webebroadband.
If like that.... Really shitty lo.

I think your brother took webe broadband plan RM59 instead of taking webe mobile plan RM79. Webe broadband sim is not allowed to make calls, sms and riding on 2G/3G network.

Anyone realize that webe 3g domestic roaming (on celcom) is slower than celcom? My sister is using xpax prepaid and she has fantastic 3g speed on her phone while mine (using webe on 3g) is remarkably slower.

Webe only deployed 5Mhz on band 5 so why compare their LTE to other major carrier like Maxis or Celcom when both of them deployed 10MHz on band 3 and 20MHz on band 7.

Webe must have recently upgraded their network in my area when I was about to cancel my webemobile. Now I can get 6-8Mbps for 3G and 10-16Mbps for 4G, if this is consistent it is about time I cancel my 384k-Streamyx. I have also cancel my 1GB-Maxis-Broadband.

just an update of the service guys/gals - i was told by webe cs that home alarm feature is still not working. my example : alarm trigger/to on/off alarm at home i can call my fixed line at home and key in passcode to check alarm status/turn on/off alarm. calling home okay but keying in the passcode doesn't work and they confirm they may be upgrade that feature in the future (no eta given)

Around 11 to 15 Mbps, test it using pc speedtest. That is good enough since i want to use it just for updating steam app and games.

I mean webe broadband. Webe mobile require tethering pass to do so. Most of the method already rendered useless since Webe are already taking action on closing those loopholes.

What you need to do is :
1. Call maxis customer service and ask details decline for mnp.
2. When everything cleared, contact webe chat and ask them to resubmit the mnp.

This already happened to me, and now everything is OK mnp my second webe line from maxis prepaid.

CODE
RM0.00 webe: Uh-oh. Your current service provider denied our request to switch your no 60123456789 to webe. Please check with them for details.

Not so difficult my friend. Just register a new number and pay RM106 for the first month. Evaluate according to your needs then decide to continue or not. My advice is do not MNP your principle line first.

Unless ur using a band 5, lte 850mhz atm, you may need to rethink. Right now, the 3g coverage where it falls back to Celcom is so bad. The locations where I used to get 10Mbps is now crawling at 340Kbps. Sometimes 400Kbps.

(5/20)MHz x 150Mbps = 32.5Mbps. So if the speed is anywhere more than 10 Mbps, that particular area is not very congested.

was wondering the advantages of band 38/40 compared to band 5..  kindly enlighten me..
