Is there any Broadband provider that offer with MIFI modem on the cheap without contract? I am thinking of using this MIFI modem eventually for Webe Broadband.

Anyone has tried TMGo mifi with Webe Broadband? Today WebeMobile 4G is very good as I consistently get 13-15M at home in Skudai. I think of switching to WebeBroadband.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jan 8 2017, 11:28 AM) typical chicken-and-egg situation for new tech. Wonder this device fits the criteria?no demand, why device manufacturer support it? need somebody to start trigger it. same like Apple. they keep introducing new tech where market not support/mature yet. once they intro new tech, with enough users, the other parties will start offering 3rd-party device/accessories into the same ecosystem. webe also same. lte frequency not popular among big 4: maxis, digi, celcom, umobile. so there is no demand, not enough customers to trigger device manufacturers to do something. why would they spending $$ to support smallish group of users? 2 ways moving forward: 1) big telcos adopting same frequencies as webe. very very unlikely..... or 2) webe themselves offering their own devices to flood the market, enough for their customers. once the ecosystem started, device manufacturers will take notice. i hope big device manufacturers like huawei or zte or even dlink begin to bring in their new devices tha support additional frequencies, including the odd ones like webe or even YES http://www.ecvv.com/product/4704505.html http://www.4gltemifi.com/sell-4g_lte_mifi_...41-3467485.html But only good for WebeBroadband not WebeMobile. Webe must have recently upgraded their network in my area when I was about to cancel my webemobile. Now I can get 6-8Mbps for 3G and 10-16Mbps for 4G, if this is consistent it is about time I cancel my 384k-Streamyx. I have also cancel my 1GB-Maxis-Broadband.

QUOTE(justyn @ Jan 20 2017, 11:16 AM) Im using it at a few areas and most areas (like 90% area i went in Kuching got 4G coverage). Overall, if you're in town area like Crown Towers or Main Bazaar area. 4G is achievable. Only drawback is cant share the bandwidth. However, even if 4G is not available, you still have 3G coverage provided by Celcom which has an average speed of 6-8Mbps. which i think is quite a bargain for me to stick with webe considering you will be getting unlimited data, calls and SMS. Im a satisfied user from Kuching~will recommend it to users in Kuching too. |

QUOTE(GuN @ Jan 20 2017, 01:58 PM) Unlocked via the link given, but as phone not rooted so cannot check if success.. need to wait until webe SIM comes.. anyway is band 38 & 40 launched? For me I dare not try the metohod in the link, eventhough I am using Webe but in 3G mode, too technical. Scared my MiMax got bricked. Hope band 38 & 40 will be launched soon otherwise have to be contented with 6-8Mbps under 3G instead of 10-16Mbps under 4G. |
