latest project, successfully mirror the image using wireless connection from my hp to V spec HU. BTW, this is my 2nd attempt using a HDMI wifi dongle manufactured by different company. solution, need a dongle that support low resolution (most dongle in our market only support high resolution) & using built-it miracast function in my new hp. damaged, rm100 for a wifi dongle & rm279 for Asus Zenfone4 hp. easy to setup, plug n play. connection stable & smooth without any problem. no need to use HDMI, MHL or Apple Digital AV cable anymore.. :-)

Hii guys. I've few question regarding my car and need your opinion.

1. Noisy sound somewhere around dashboard area and glass knocking sound at passenger side while driving. Already ask SC to check but the sound still there. Very annoying sound 😔
2. Where to get good quality yet cheap polish/auto detailing service around KL? Been travelling back and forth KL-Kerteh. Lots of "calar balar" on car body because of small small stone i think.
3. Where to get good service to install modulo skirt and new sportrim? Want to make up my car. Thinking of same design as attached pic heehee 😁 Attached Image
4. Check thru honda website on any update for my car. Suddenly appear require new battery replacement. But no official letter from honda until now. Should i go direct to SC?

Thanks guys.

Can consider Philips or Osram, both are much cheaper.
Philips Crystal Vision H11 4300K is RM160/pair only.

Would like to ask if any owner changed their tire from 185/55/16 to 195/50/16 (Continental MC5) ? Can I have some feedback?
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A (195/55/16) as well.

Couldn't decide between this 3 tire.
XM2 , MC5 or RE050A.

Thanks in advance!

2 years ago...200+ each, less than 250 I remember

Mine is E spec, of course BIG difference now in terms of handling. Genting corners I sapu je

If u take 195/55/16 or 205/50/16 would be even more stable I think, that size u would have to take the more pricey/sportier Hankook Ventus series

Optimo is more toward comfort

1) look for Hingan Auto in fb for Honda Thailand Original rev.camera , estimated RM 1,300+ or Rm300 normal china rev.camera

2) tint depend on ur budget... normal security tint RM600+ from raytech up to RM3k from 3M

New 2016 city owner here.
Discusssed with my honda saleman and he sold and installed a RM300 reverse camera. My fren 2 years ago bought for rm450 and can only installed side of rear. Mine is exactly at rear of boot for latest city version (2016).

Tint price varies with brand and quality. Some cost 1k plus like my bro but i just got a 1.6k for ecotint for better heat protection and security tint. To be honest I cant feel the difference.

Going to install next auto lock on speed and auto side mirror flip next. These should be cheap modules to install and it's crazy the first page advertise so expensive prices. wink.gif

Can consider Philips or Osram, both are much cheaper.
Philips Crystal Vision H11 4300K is RM160/pair only.

My car battery just died this morning(recall letter not yet arrive, bad luck). Yesterday still can start as normal. What happen was, I start my car(push start), light appear then straight black out. I try to start again my car but i could not as my brake become harden. I try to jump start my car and i am able to start my car but the problem is my steering keep kick back and the steering indicator appear when ever i turn my steering to the right and left. Is it the battery is weak then the power steering could not have enough power?

Once i change to a new battery my car normal back to normal. I saw the Yokohama did have some leakage at the side but not so much. Luckily it did not explode.

Don't buy performance bulbs from accessories shops. They treat you as carrot and make huge margin from it.

What is taking HM so long to distribute the goddamn recall letter. News for battery incompatibility came out before my service in March and now getting nearer to my upcoming service. Is there any way that we can push them so we can get the letter ASAP.

because i am very scare of driving in the night and I usually drive at night as my work ends quite late.

As far i know honda is using tong to pump the oil to your car like some of here mentioned. Have a look at your receipt, they should charge you the exact amount of oil your car is used, rather than charge a 4L oil but use 3L.

Hi Sifus,
My Honda city 2014 have been very bumpy especially on the back seats for a few months already. When I drive in north south highway is like riding a horse a the back. I went to Honda HZN Glenmarie for checkup they told me absorber and all is working fine and its normal. I have talked to service center personnel they say it's normal to be bumpy for Honda city.

Wanna know am I the only one facing this problem? Please help me on this Sifus!

Once you paired your phone with HU via Bluetooth, you can notice on the HU'S screen your phone have been connected, and got phone signal symbol on top of it.

You may asked someone to call you while you in the car, HU will show you caller and you may pick up using touch screen or button on the steering.

But make sure you successfully paired your phone and never turn off your Bluetooth.

Hi Sifus,
My Honda city 2014 have been very bumpy especially on the back seats for a few months already.

Please help me on this Sifus!

bro, this is normal for V spec...rear suspension is not really good. Suspect the tyre bcoz for E or S i heard is better a bit.

thx zulwaqar. working now.

my samsung s7 cannot connect to HU via mirrorlink. checked cos s7 is mirrorlink 1.1 while the HU is mirrorlink 1.0 and 1.1 is not backward compatible.
if i'm not work, hdmi will not work too as s7 does not support mhl.

any1 tried getting mirrorlink 1.1 to work on the HU and what do you need?

saw the post abt using wifi display dongle to connect to the HU.
any idea if this will work with samsung s7?

Engine oil and oil filter only

only need to change this 2 major thing . dust and pollen only need to change on 20-30k service . definitely not 10k ....

if u see engine treatment oil , pls reject it .. ur 10k km engine is very clean . no need to spend the RM30 on that stuff . Spend ur money on Caltex R95 for cleaner engine , not on this treatment oil.

on ur service order form , pls reject every single thing on Optional column. Optional = Unnecessary icon_rolleyes.gif rclxm9.gif

I figure it was due to the plastic expanded when it was hot, so the rattling sound became much more obvious. Most of the time, i only came back to get my car at evening, so I didn't bother it that much >.<

You need to be very hardworking as you'll need to wax it often to maintain the white color... Best is to wax it every 2 weeks... Will you do it? laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Just my thoughts .. but de current 2k versions of white [include pearl white ; which has a second clear coat covering de white colour paint] is loads better than de flat single coating white of old.. my wifeys 2012 taffeta white jazz still considered 'white'

Suggestion on maintenance - wash frequently n wax often.. but l guess u alrdy know tat..

Forgotten V spec comes with 16" laugh.gif
Personally feel that 16" a bit neither here nor there. So perhaps downgrade to 15? tongue.gif or straight yolo 17". Haha.

I feel 195 looks better than 185 and more grip on the road... But sacrifices a bit of fuel economy...

Yes I know... Also depends on the road conditions, oil, sand, idiot driver trying to be racer, etc etc...

I am using RE003 205/50/16. Super good grip when dry, silent and reasonable price.
A big upgrade over stock goodyear & a little bit better than Conti MC5.

But it does really prone to aquaplaning. Just don't drive so fast while raining.
Yeah, the tire wear is very high too...not a durable tire.

hi ppl, it's working.sorry, no photos yet as i got it workin pretty late, but working with 4G connectivity.

i'm using android, hp samsung s7, the technology is miracast.
it will mirror the hp screen to the HU screen, there is no touch control on the HU screen for me, i still need to use my handphone to make any changes, but u can use whatever apps u wan. in landscape mode, the display is full screen.

4G connectivity is still up, it uses wifi-direct to create the connectivity.

1 key thing for any1 trying to setup, DO NOT USE THE STEERING CONTROLS TO CHOOSE THE SOURCE. apparently it will not toggle off the Info screen which I have use as default.

instead, press the Home button, Audio, then choose AUX-HDMI, it should display nicely.

i'll get some pics for u guyz.

apani?

Dont forget to "breathe"... Mr. Miyagi teach you ah,
also develop some equally bad waxing techniques.
In the movie, The Karate Kid, Mr. Miyagi teaches his student, “Daniel-san,”
to wax an "invisible" car in circular motions.

He makes no mention of how much wax to use.
apart from that, preparation is very importanat.
Washing, claying helps to remove embedded debris like sand or corrosive substances.

It will ensure the wax fills in the “pores” of the paint and bonds with it completely.
Circular motions have no real basis as far as coverage.
It probably is supposed to mimic the action of an orbital machine,
but all it ends up doing is causing halo effects that can be hard to remove.

It is probably best for novices to use those spray on, wipe off wax.

Else the best motion will be swirling circular motion and moving in a straight line.
Watch those proffessional waxing shop do it and you will get the idea.

the above copied from google one, not i say one... icon_rolleyes.gif

Recommended the full set. It's not perfect, but from afar you wont notice it and after few days you wont care too.

Gonna place a samsung tab screen guard on my LCD screen for dust free touch screen. Hopefully results are good. hmm.gif

I saw the new colour in the showroom, its basically the silver, just slightly darker. Like some sort of satin silver feel.

So you like this color or not ? or other color better ?

the SA who handed me my car told me to switch off my VSA when it's raining.................she's kinda not very well-informed to me

Your SA lagi imba, switch off when it is raining..
I am thinking whether is Honda having too many s/s+ in the warehouse so the SA keep pushing these non VSA model..

Anyone know of any good places to do some paint touch ups?

I've got a few scratches and a dent from a minor accident to take care of but when I went to the 3S Centre, they suggested I rerepainmy whole car...

Parts that HAVE SCRATCHES:

Front Bumper
Front Bonnet
Front Left Side Mirror
Front Left Tire-thingy (the one that connects to the main body)
Front Passenger door
Bottom skirt on Rear Passenger door
Rear Passenger door
Back bumper
Driver side door

None of the above have like super huge or noticeable marks just that if you look at it, you'd know it's there. All of the above parts would cost me more than 5K to repaint at the 3S Centre.

I would go for whole body re-spray to ensure no rust developing later. Didn't you reported the accident to the police? Can claim your / the other party's insurance if reported.

Sadly these were not caused by accidents for me to be able to claim insurance on from other people. I can use my car's insurance to claim for the repaint but what if (touchwood), some driver decides to hit my car or I accidentally hit theirs. I just renewed my insurance last week.

Like i mentioned, these are scratches which I really wonder where they come from. The doors, they are quite obvious as some people might've parked too close for comfort but the bumpers and the skirt?

If just scratches, then I would just live with it but if it is dented on metal body part, then I will get that part re-sprayed. My city has scratches from cat's nails scratches and other inconsiderate car owners parked beside.

Check your car paint code and buy the touch up paint from this website. If the scratches are minor, it can be touched up.

Hey, have you actually tried using them on your car? Does it actually work on slightly deeper scratched surface like for eg. scratch the lower front bumper on a road pavement ?

No sanding is needed using a sandpaper or something?

i'm using android , samsung s7. it's mirrorlink 1.1, which can't work with the HU which is mirrorlink 1.0.

installing the hdmi bypass cable is the tricky part. suggest u open the panel under the air con controls. 1 hand press down the release catch on the connector, the other hand try to use a flat head screwdriver to push on the connector ledge to push it out.
after connectin up the connector, 1 hand move to when the port is, and the other then move the connector to the port. space is VERY VERY limited and u cannot hardly see what u r doing. so feel is the best.

i'm using ezcast m2 dongle(many fakes, hv to ensure u get a honest dealer) and the hdmi bypass cable is from a seller here.

if any1 of u is interested, pls pm me. i can reply u with the details. i dun earn a cent, jus helping u.

Hi, everyone. I just get my City V spec. Rebate RM7,500.

The SA told me not to install reverse camera as it will void the 5 year warranty. Means that is no other way to install the reverse camera without void the warranty?

Guys .. If you drive above 140 KM/H did your car drive stable and straight ?

Mine feel very wobbly. Like angin lintang left and right. I usually never drive above 130 but today when I did I feel very scare because not stable.

yes
feel floating

even my mom iriz feel stable in 150km/h

1 things to reduce wobbling, change tire to bigger width. eg: 205. but u will need to sacrifice ur fuel a bit

I once cruised 140km/h on penang second bridge. Smooth ride like butter. Can sleep soundly.
Sometimes it's the road condition, sometimes the car.

The car and the steering itself is on the lighter side. Crosswinds will affect its stability for sure. But I've driven it close to 170km/h before but once or twice only. This car is not meant to be pushed to those kind of speeds on stock specifications laugh.gif but up to 140km/h for me is ok la. Stable enough to give me confidence while driving it.

Hi all, anyone here using the tint offer by Honda Malaysia? I am thinking to put the 3m horizon or Ecotint barrier 4 on my new city s+.. is the tinted offer worth and good? Coz those tinted seems a bit expensive and low solar energy rejection.. I understand that higher solar energy rejection might be darker with there is a risk of jpj not approve..

Due to budget restriction, I choose s+ over e spec, not sure whether is it a good n wise choice.. going to make my booking this weekend.. anyone can advise before I make my booking? Hehe.. Thanks..

Well, since u getting the S+, why not just the S? E spec would be recommended due to VSC.
Not sure about the tinting they offer.

Due to budget restriction, I choose s+ over e spec, not sure whether is it a good n wise choice.. going to make my booking this weekend.. anyone can advise before I make my booking? Hehe.. Thanks..
*
Take E spec at least for the safety feature of VSA. Thats the whole point of buying Honda City. If u take S+, u might as well get other cheaper brands. Even Perdua Bezza have VSA feature.

Well, since u getting the S+, why not just the S? E spec would be recommended due to VSC.
Not sure about the tinting they offer.
Bro, did u go for the stiffest rear anti roll bar?
*
Yess..stage 1 was front struct bar + rear anti roll (19mm)

Still can use your internet once connected to ezcast? Cuz it's a wifi dongle right? After using this don't have to use hdmi cable?

Hey, have you actually tried using them on your car? Does it actually work on slightly deeper scratched surface like for eg. scratch the lower front bumper on a road pavement ?

No sanding is needed using a sandpaper or something?
*
For deeper scratch you'll need to paint it 3times layer after layer, I am using it for my white city

At last I booked modern steel E spec by topping up 4k.. Somehow feel the 4k extra is worth to spend as VSA might be a life saving feature and with the 4k extra I do enjoy extra accessories, features and better look meter..

question, what is the use of those three 12V power outlets in E spec?
for phone charging right? anything else?

can i plug any kind of car charger in there, or need specific type?
cause 12V seems high voltage (i dunno just guessing biggrin.gif )

it connects via wifi-direct, u still need to on ur hp wifi to detect the dongle. u can still use ur hp own network for data while u r driving. so u can use waze etc.
it connects to the hdmi port and uses a usb port for power. thus u need the hdmi bypass cable. else when u release handbrake, the hu hdmi port will be disable by default

Is worth to add up the 4k, either by topping up down payment or loan from bank the extra 4k, but need to top up around 50 for monthly instalment. Or u can top up 2k and loan extra 2k from bank then the monthly instalment will only increase by 20+.. I just book my E spec yesterday by top up 2k myself and loan extra 2k from bank..

May I know whether the spare tyre space of city able to fit the original size tyre in? Coz the temp tyre is really too small, in case tyre punctured on highway it would be quite dangerous to drive with the temp tyre.. I am thinking to buy a used 15' rim and tyre to put it as spare tyre...

i'm using samsung s7.

i can't set the resolution on the dongle, but from what i gather, the HU supports 720 resolution.
the ezcast m2 dongle is supposed to support lower resolution, and i'm guessing it can auto-detect as i have no issue using it at home or in the car.

nope, i didn't use mhl cable as my samsung s7 does not support mhl.
i use the ezcast m2 wireless dongle, connects to my hp via wifi-direct and can still use handphone data network in the absense of a wifi network.

does this answer your question? because i'm not exactly sure what you mean by cable management...

Once open battery you can see the type, all round. Can buy from ikea, mr DIY or common key shop.
Never go SC center for things you can do yourself super easily unless you wanna get overcharged.

to be honest, i have not seen any cars which can disable airbag function.
i think u can still place it in the front, jus normal with the chair facing the front.
front seats don't have the ISO fix too, probably not the best place to put baby seats

Shall be cheaper a little if not mistaken but not including some interior care unlike quotation u got, mainly exterior part only, I personally think can go for a try lar, pricing wise and feedback from user, you shall pay them a visit, i went to ss2 branch, quite small shop but adequate to park few cars

Hi guys,

Im torn apart between city and jazz. My SA klang told me jazz will take less than a week or two to get but for city will take months. Is it true what my SA told me?

For august "merdeka promotion" is low interest rates or 7k for jazz or 5k for city. I think better than raya prmotion.

Got in 8 days. Of course no trouble with loan approval...and that's including plate transfer from old car via runner which the honda agent employs.

Maybe due to closing of financial year of 2015/2016 at 31 August. Maybe your SA reached quota and want hold you off until next month.
Whatver it is, very shitty deal you got here mate.

Initially wanted to change this and that but after driving for several months and got a few dent here and there, i dont bother to change the rims, tyres and bodykit. Just use the money for maintenance. I am quite ok with the stock tyres. If i sell it and upgrade, i rugi la since is still new. Just make sure u deflat the tyres when u get your car. And always pump the tires every few weeks.

Nice. Silver looks nice.
I think the shift of color popularity for the future is going back to silver.

If off centered, adjust the steering wheel height and distance maybe?
It's not the steering column is off. It's just the place where the honda emblem is placed and also the horn. Hard to press the horn.

the guy at the tyre shop recommended wider tyre for better stability when driving fast.. n according to him it does not affect fuel consumption.. or probably its not so significant on the FC difference..

Yes please top up with Honda Coolant Type II or distilled water only until Max level when engine is cold...

Don't use tap water, mineral water, filtered water, alkaline water, etc... Unless it is an emergency then only use...

There is a tyre indicator..

N this is for optimum wet performance..

Some people believe in not using rubbers more than 3 years old - reason being rubber hardens/deteriorates with age N this is irrespective of above..

This question very subjective. Some people drive like F1 everyday or never do rotation or never keep tyres properly inflated can't even last 40k km. Some people jaga tyres properly and don't drive like the road is their racing track can keep tyres good up to 60k km.

Key is to monitor your own tyre maintenance management and ur driving habits. Also some tyres are more durable than others. My stocks lasted me 50k km.

Hi guys, sorry i don't own a City yet but would like to enquire. Is it worth going for the Merdeka Promotion? Is it better then the Raya promotion? Or should i wait for year end prom? Planning to get before CNY comes basically lol. Planning to get a S+ spec originally, how about E? Is it really worth the upgrade?

Or should i rather use that money to add modulo kit? (cause honestly the modulo kit looks sick biggrin.gif )

Thanks in advance!

The least u can get during raya promo was 5k. Exclusive of agent rebate. So you can start from there to know if merdeka promo better or not.

E spec is obviously worth the upgrade. The safety feature u get vs the module kit u add. Which one could be life saving?

Body kit anytime oso can add.

My car unable start today due to battery GG.

The battery is under recall list, before this already call Honda CS 3-4 times, the answer is only wait wait wait.....

No choice, call the HIP hotline for help, they only able call Tow/Technician coz it already after 5pm (SC closed)

Tmr, need call HIP again to jump start then direct drive to SC for exchange battery...

Will update again tmr.

Hmm thanks for the reply guys! Ill def go for the E spec then the body kit cause as mentioned, body kit can get any time. How about the maintenance though after driving out from the Honda place. Will there be any problem with Honda City in a normal circumstance for the next 50k km for example? Any problem arise so far? Anything should i be aware of? (Besides the normal checking water, black oil, etc)

Same thing happened to me last week... I called HIP to towed to Honda SC in Pandan Indah and they changed on the spot for me without the letter... No worries, can jump start and drive to the SC...

That's the damn problem with Honda Malaysia. How many months already and I still haven't received the letter yet. And my car is going to be 2 years old soon. Have to wait until battery KO?

I waited till battery died of 23 months usage... Lucky didn't explode...

i just called Honda Actmar to arrange appointment to change battery. I told them that my car random cannot start and i havent receive the letter yet. They said they can only check the battery condition using battery tester. If the battery is ok, they will not change the battery unless we have a letter. Dmn..

I think your agent showing how to disable the immobelizer alarm in event somebody try to jack your car. i dont think your key will disable the alarm.
You should know the combination press to disable it. Or if dunno, check one of the book that comes with your car manual.
just tell them the combination. if they're old school, write on paper the step by step how-to press.

Hi ALL, my city having battery recall also, but during my 20k service, i ask SC regarding the recall, while i didnt get my letter yet. The SC check the VIN number for recall confirmation and help me change a new battery, even though the old battery after battery check is under 100% health.

The SC i went is in Chai Leng Park, Penang, Motoria Service Center..

Just for sharing..

New player should do the trick. But whether wiring for the player plug&play or not then it depends on brand & model.

Hi all, just got my city. Mind to share how you guys remove the door edge black sponge? Just use force to pull it off or just wait it to fall by itself? SA told me to wait for 2 weeks and it will fall by itself... is that the best way without leaving any glue mark? Thanks

Can v spec stock rim fit in 205/55/16 tyre?

V spec stock rim can fit tyre max is 195/50/16, but 195/50/16 less choice.

If you want to fit 205/50/16 or 205/45/16 then you need to change to a wider rim 7 or 7.5JJ, stock rim only 6JJ

205/55/16 not suitable for city.

Tell you something... Honda SC don't install 3rd party HU and reverse camera... It's the SA bring outside to install for you... Anything not install from factory is void warranty jor... Alway believe what your SA tells you with a pinch of salt... Not 100%...

Make sure outside install is really plug and play... No wires cut... If not will void warranty...

Hi all sifus, loan just approved, waiting to collect my car soon.
White color, E spec, discount 7k.

Anyone can share their price (if happen to know)? I share the quotation that I've got..

Decided to add on:
1. Wing spoiler - 450
2. Head unit (LCD DVD player + reverse camera) = 3k
3. Fog lamp - 180
4. Brake pedal lock - ??

Considering to add on:
1. Side steel plate - ??
2. Daytime running light - 280
3. Tinted film - 1.5k (3M or EcoTint, Honda panel tinted film)

And anyone can recommend coating & tinted shop? Hope to get some info here, thanks in advance!

It seems so but what choice do I get where it is still better let the SC to install instead of I get someone out there to do it biggrin.gif
I searched from mudah.my there are ppl selling fog lamp & claiming that it is plug & play only..
I have asked my SC & he only willing to install HU, wing spoiler & tinted film, ntg else.. unsure.gif

Yessssh.. the modulo spoiler does not attract me much..
The modulo bodykit set with wing spoiler looks much better but I skip all the skirting coz I don't want to see them breaking apart due to bloody road condition around kl/pj..

450 for that spoiler is too much, you can get it at 250+- outside, just go ask around
that spoiler are actually part of the honda's modulo kit in thailand, it's just that HM replace it with the ducktail spoiler

It's actually not the SC who is going to install it... The SA actually brings it out of Honda SC and get an accessories shop to install it for you... You pay more it also as you need to pay for the SA's commission and all... Look for accessories shop yourself and you'll save $ to install something else...

You let SA do will be the same... All need to drill holes and do wiring... All done at accessories shops... It's the same... Only difference is you pay more as the SA will earn from this also... And they earn a lot!

I believe so, I have questioned him before I confirmed the purchase & he said he did not earn commission biggrin.gif
Yeah we all know what to trust what not to laugh.gif
The main difference is the HU provided by SC will have 1yr warranty with 1 to 1 exchange, as far as I know accessories shop outside won't offer this.
Secondly, if the spoiler is provided by the SC any warranty issue I can liaise with him, if I do it outside I can save some money & hope ntg will happen otherwise he will definitely show me his face color tongue.gif

Haha not to say who is worth trusting who is not.. it is about decision making, take the chance - save some money - be prepared if encounter warranty issue.. or just liaise with 1 person, let him settle the accessories issue + warranty issue.

I have been considering all these before the purchase and I am still thinking now based on the info that I've got.

Hingan Auto is Authorized Honda Stockist... You can get original Honda parts here cheaper than SC...

Pigs will fly if your SA really 100% no earn your commission laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Anyway it's up to you if you go ahead and let your SA do it for you and if anything happens you cannot go back to the SC but the SA instead.

As I know SC will not install 3rd party stuffs for you as this is not according to HM SOPs.

All I can tell you is anything not installed from factory is 100% will void warranty...

A famous saying of Taeng9389
Scared warranty void, don't mod anything.
Want to mod, don't give a shit about the warranty.

185/60/15 is the closest to 175/65/15 size..

I'm using 195/55/15 now after my stocks have worn off. To me, it's ok but maybe for others not so. Using goodyear assurance triplemax. Wanted to try xm2 but shop recommended me this. Silent, grip in wet is quite decent. But still relatively new tyres at <10k km..maybe early next year the silent ride won't be there anymore laugh.gif

Anything above rm300 for visor is expensive unless it's the original Honda or Mugen visor then it's over that price tag...

You'll need to explore accessories shop or join City groups and ask around members on their experience...

i did, drove the car around while the service manager look for the source of the sound, end up telling me to check on my rear wing (i've got a big ass gt wing at the back)

someone mentioned checking the rear seat catch a while ago, sprayed some wd-40 into it a couple days back, so far, haven't heard the noise yet, i guess that's the source of the sound

mine sounded like this

If you're getting the V spec with 6 airbags, please do not change the seat covers. There are airbags for the front seat and the existing seat covers are design to break when the airbags are deployed.

Hi All.

Soon-to-be E-Spec city owner. Need to learn a lot of things.

1. Been thinking replacing the HU to V-spec. If that happen, will the audio steering control works? What about HDMI in port? E spec has no HDMI port.

2. Number of speakers in e spec is 4. But could anyone advise me the location of that 4 speakers... i believe its 2 mid and 2 tweeter at front door. And if i were to install rear speaker, is the wiring is ready?

Thanks ya!

mine are not like that..mine is only when i go through drain cover, loopholes then i can hear the knocking sound on the rear tyres..it is like the suspension knocking on some metal stuff..i even tried putting down the rear seats when driving but the sound is still there..i got this issue since a year ago..it just came out of sudden..i saw some members saying that is the alarm device at the boot that makes the sound..but i didn't go to the service centre yet..sometimes the sound is there sometimes it is not..it is so weird sad.gif

U can forget about Actmar Klang coz they cannot change unless u have a letter or they tested your battery is not in good condition. I think someone mentioned here that he manage to change battery without the letter however the SC is in Penang.

Btw any E spec owner installed fog lamps? It seems the wiper stalk also need to change...  mega_shok.gif

After few months getting the car...the urge to change anything has dwindled. So mine is as it is. Just wash everyweek and it would look just as sleek.

Hi guys,
I just booked City E spec, under the Merdeka promo, which sounds like a good deal. First choice color is Red Ruby, but now I'm torn between that and White which looks nice as well besides the fact that it makes the car look bigger. Just want to ask you guys' opinion on Red vs. White.

Secondly, is there any checklist available that I can go through when picking up my car, specific for Honda City E spec?

Thirdly, is there anything else that I need to be aware of, or check with my SA, or just anything important regarding the car?

Thanks in advance,
Cheers!

recently noticed that my car (pedal and steering) vibrates very mild during high speed 120kmh and above. The vibration is like a rhythm 2sec ON 2sec OFF.

Did balancing during 10k, 14k, 15k on wheel balancing. Still no improvement.

Brought car to SC to check, basically they blame my stock tyres..
current mileage is 15k

dont know what else can be a problem - bearing, shock absorber, etc

dont know the real issue - bearing

Ruby red in my opinion is not a nice color. (This is subjective to different people.)
Unless it is the color of mazda's soul red then it would have been my color of choice.
I'd prefer the blue over the ruby red. Why they changed the blue to ruby red is beyond me.
No one buys the blue was the reason but no one buys the red one as well.
White really makes the car look bigger than it is....but white cars are harder to manage.
But If I were you I would take the White over ruby red anytime.

Thanks for your input. Still on the fence on this one. Ruby Red for me looks nice and distinctive on the City, and red being still relatively rare color on the road makes it better. But it does make the car appear smaller and somewhat "cartoonish" and "toyish". White as you said, looks elegant, but harder to maintain. If I chose White, is coating recommended?

I don't see the appeal of coating and its just a B segment car.
Coating is 1k++ Not too sure worth the investment or not.
As i heard you still need to wash it regularly and its not scratch proof either.

Okay, thanks again for the feedback. Might not invest in coating for now. Hope I will make a good decision on the color!

i asked the SA regarding this.. she say DK will come and remove existing seats and bring back.. remove the fabric cover and then stitch on leather cover onto the seats and then fix it back in the car..

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Aug 12 2016, 04:52 PM)
If you're getting the V spec with 6 airbags, please do not change the seat covers. There are airbags for the front seat and the existing seat covers are design to break when the airbags are deployed.

err.. bro.. u r not saying there's an airbag in our seat right..? i dunno about that o.. but when u say like that then i probably not gonna change it to leather dy.. tongue.gif hahaha.. somehow i find the front seat are not nice to sit on though.. haha.. laugh.gif

I bought the original multi angle reverse camera from Honda Thailand via Hingan Auto... Quite useful when parking tight places... But will cost you rm1.3k now...

Xiaoyi dashcam is the best budget dashcam if you can get for below rm200 from lazada, gemfive or 11street...

If you want discreet dashcam can look at A118C or A119... You can read my reviews on dashcams... Link in my signature... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
