Hi guys,
I just booked City E spec, under the Merdeka promo, which sounds like a good deal. First choice color is Red Ruby, but now I'm torn between that and White which looks nice as well besides the fact that it makes the car look bigger. Just want to ask you guys' opinion on Red vs. White.

Secondly, is there any checklist available that I can go through when picking up my car, specific for Honda City E spec?

Thirdly, is there anything else that I need to be aware of, or check with my SA, or just anything important regarding the car?

Thanks in advance,
Cheers!

Ruby red in my opinion is not a nice color. (This is subjective to different people.)
Unless it is the color of mazda's soul red then it would have been my color of choice.
I'd prefer the blue over the ruby red. Why they changed the blue to ruby red is beyond me.
No one buys the blue was the reason but no one buys the red one as well.
White really makes the car look bigger than it is....but white cars are harder to manage.
But If I were you I would take the White over ruby red anytime.

Thanks for your input. Still on the fence on this one. Ruby Red for me looks nice and distinctive on the City, and red being still relatively rare color on the road makes it better. But it does make the car appear smaller and somewhat "cartoonish" and "toyish". White as you said, looks elegant, but harder to maintain. If I chose White, is coating recommended?

I don't see the appeal of coating and its just a B segment car.
Coating is 1k++ Not too sure worth the investment or not.
As i heard you still need to wash it regularly and its not scratch proof either.
*
Okay, thanks again for the feedback. Might not invest in coating for now. Hope I will make a good decision on the color!

Manage to get 7.5k total discount with Merdeka promotion. Plus TnGo RM50, full tank, tint voucher 700, city trunk tray, umbrella, key chain, city rubber mat. Booked E variant, white color. Changed my mind from Ruby Red earlier :-D

So for City, worth using Ron97 or is Ron95 sufficient? What are you guys using and are there any significant difference?

Hi guys,
Going to pick up my City this week, feeling excited. Appreciate if you guys have any guidelines/checklist that I can follow before collecting the car? To inspect the car thoroughly before driving out from showroom.

I booked my city v-spec recently, getting my car this weekend.

I got offer for sept promo :

- 5k + 1k rebate
- free 3M tinting
- free reverse camera
- free full tank
*
1) 3M - what's the value of the tint?
2) I thought reverse camera comes as standard for V spec?

Nope, V spec audio screen CAN install reverse camera, but need to install yourself. Either from SC or after market.  sweat.gif
*
Damn, I thought it comes as standard. Because I remember checking out V spec last time the SA told me got reverse camera. Hmm, anyway doesn't matter as City rear is not that huge and long so not really needed la, still can manage without camera assistance.

Is Honda Malaysia currently having any system issue or whatever? I supposed to collect my car on Tuesday 6th, then SA called and said delayed, changed to Thursday 8th, again delayed. Now hoping to get by Saturday 10th tomorrow fingers crossed. Not sure if really got logistics issues with Honda Malaysia or SA is pulling a fast one on me with some hidden agenda? Anyhow I got no choice have to wait it out.

Bro.. which Honda shop u buy? Coz I waiting almost 1 month already.
*
Bro, I bought at Selayang/Batu Caves Honda. I also waited 4 weeks bro. Booked on 13th August, collected today evening. Maybe unlucky a bit la in sense of waiting list, but then it's worth the wait, the feeling when you drive out your fresh newly baked car out of the showroom rclxm9.gif icon_idea.gif

The smell can cause cancer...it's the glue smell if not mistaken .
*
Ya meh? Possibly caused by the plastic wrapper in the car if exposed in hot sun for very long...but no problem as the smell in my car is almost neutralised already by the jasmine flower garland I hang on the rear mirror. Can't really smell the plastic anymore.

Booked on 29th Aug... SA say gt stocked when booked... he say car will arrive early of september (before 10 Sept)... then last week SA say no stock.... then he say maybe before 14th Sept... now he say maybe friday can get.... hopefully no delay again cry.gif
*
2 words bro, "marketing gimmick". This is common trick used by SA when attracting customers to book, always will say got stock, and then will delay delay delay. In my case, my SA said can get in 2 weeks but in fact I had to wait double the time. I didn't have any problem with it, because I already expected the car to be delayed from the beginning, except the 4th week when the delivery date was changed from Tuesday, to Thursday, to finally Saturday, quite frustrating. Anyway no big deal unless you got no transport. If your loan is good and cleared, the rest should be relatively quite fast.

Grats bro. I'm excited as well. Also my first non local car after the previous car also a Kelisa.
*
Congrats to you too. Join the club man, Kelisa is an awesome car, too bad mine was deteriorating, so had to let go and change car. The feeling of driving a non-local car, man the difference is great. The comparison for me between a second hand Kelisa and a new City, feels like I migrate from a low cost flats to a bungalow! LOL

I see  thumbsup.gif

But I choose lunar sliver, that might take bit more time to wait since not many ppl think this color. hmm.gif

Lunar silver is very nice, I even considered it. Personally I think it looks best on the new Civic. The big footprint of Civic makes the colour standout. Yup lunar silver takes longer time to wait due to less in production, but it will be worth the wait.
