i made payment for online purchase with lazada...so the last page will need to key in 6 digits TAC/OTP.

Initially I thought the notification is from SMS to my android phone but i check back SMS, it does not have the TAC/OTP i entered. i tried to find back the notification but not found.

may i know the notification for TAC/OTP from CIMB is using what method? USSD?

You can holding two different banks of credit cards, not two credit cards

36k per annual and below only limit for 2 credit cards ( two banks of cards), otherwise, no limit to be hold

Not really.

But to improve your chances, just submit it?

Some people just give EPF printout also can approve already.

Yes for first part if using CIMB cards.

Each time I pay my Streamyx bill at Sam's, I sure face a problem.

They select Streamyx but in fact, for my bill, they need to choose TM normal bill.

Very embarrassing as I always halted the queue behind.

hi friends,

I've recently spent my cimb card overseas. They had informed me that the conversion rates comes visa international. Upon checking at visa website, there is a place where we can input our bank fees where i keyed in 1%. Upon checking my bill, i realised that i was overcharged with 1% extra by cimb.

This means visa gives a horrible exchange rate and top of that charges 1% exchange rate. Then Cimb charges 1% extra. Total is 2% instead of 1%.

Has any bro's been through this situation. I lodged official complain with BNM and guess what. i opened all my bill dated 7 years and got my extra 1% back. Please be aware!!!!!!!

For 150k, I'd rather put it to MBB's Premier / VI or World MC compared to CIMB's which offers not much benefits :/

And CIMB preferred requirement so low already? I thought it was 250k last time around.

I'm planning to get the cash rebate card for online transactions. And I heard they just limited it to certain categories with MCC codes to get rebates of 5%. I can't really get my answer from FAQ. Anyone here can tell me if it's worth to get this card for my usual online purchasing?

quick summary of my experience,

online shopping for local sites - OK;
overseas sites - 0.8% cross border fee;
utility must be autodebit to enjoy cash rebate;

I just use both CIMB Petronas & Cashback cards for almost 2 months. My first statement + cashback were accumulated accordingly. However for this month I noticed my cashback for petronas card is lesser than expected

For this month I used RM200, but it seems like my 3% CB calculated for rough figure of RM150. How does CIMB calculate their cashback??

Thank you

I just use both CIMB Petronas & Cashback cards for almost 2 months.  My first statement + cashback were accumulated accordingly.  However for this month I noticed my cashback for petronas card is lesser than expected

For this month I used RM200, but it seems like my 3% CB calculated for rough figure of RM150.  How does CIMB calculate their cashback??

Thank you

It's better that you post certain level of your statement for us to analyze.

Otherwise, if you're not comfortable, you can always call CS for deeper query.

Ok, please find partial screen shot of my CIMB Petronas card statement (pretty embarrassing since the usage is not that much)

If you look at the screen shot

The first 2 lines

Previous balance was RM96.35 hence 3% CB gave me RM2.89

However for this month there were 2 usages on Nov 29th and Dec 6th of RM34.85 and RM56.55 respectively. So in total the usage was RM91.40. So 3% CB for RM91.40 should be RM2.74, but based on the current CB calculated I just got RM1.83 equivalent to total usage of RM61.00 instead of RM91.40.

I am currently holding a CIMB Enrich WMC which was issued to me in 2012. I was offered an upgrade to Enrich World Elite. Somehow, I am confused over this whole capping of Bonus Miles.

Does that mean it is better for me to continue using my existing card and not upgrade? Can someone please explain?

Question for cimb cash rebate platinum. This is my first credit card. So I'm quite blur even after some reading from the previous post. In my first statement via cimbclicks, it shows;
Outstanding Balance :RM 260.19 (after deduct cash rebate)
Statement Balance :RM 268.32
Payment Due Date : 10-Jan-2016
Statement Date : 21-Dec-2015

while in my eStatement no cash rebate included. Should i pay the outstanding balance or the statement balance? why there is no cash rebate included in my Estatement? confused unsure.gif unsure.gif

Statement balance amount, the one without cash rebate. Other banks allow you to deduct the cash back before payment but it seems CIMB doesn't allow and will impose penalty to cardholders. There were a few forummers shared abouf this earlier.

Thanks for replying. I thought that too, but the CS told me I can pay the outstanding balance.
So I double confirm again with the cs if I'll get penalty for not paying the statement bal, but she said there will be no

hi, just wanted to ask if perform IBFT via ATM @ CIMB, it charges RM0.53 for the transfer? Isn't it free until end of this year? I had emailed CIMB and it says it is not free if IBFT is performed over CIMB ATM but i can't find any info regarding this at their website.

I can't find a thread on IBFT or CIMB thread, so I am asking here.

The WMC is capped as well at 50k I believe. But overall both are pretty crap at collecting miles especially with the capping.

The MBB VI beats the WMC at both local and overseas spend, while beating the Elite WMC for overseas spend. Of course, the MBB Premier Amex beats them all. And no capping!

If this is the case, first time paid the full amount based on Statement Balance. How about the cash rebate that we accumulated on the particular month? Next month they will credit back to the Statement Balance?

Just pay full as per Statement Balance to avoid complication of being charged for interest.

Cash rebate will be credited in the next statement and will not be regarded as payment or advanced payment to offset the current statement balance as per forumer feedback.

Noted. I just verified with senior officer from CIMB Bank and it is indeed pay in full amount based on Statement Balance rather than Outstanding Balance. Cash rebate will be credited to the next Statement Balance.

buying tea fall under groceries which is 2% CR but seems like it is under other retail.

My guess is because of the Domino online website or payment processor is tagged as e-commerce which makes the transaction falls under online category.

On the other hand, if your tea is bought at those marts or convenience stores, it could be fall under groceries category. Otherwise, it may just fall under dining or other category.

Yes u're right for e-commerce online payment thumbup.gif but for Cameron Valley maybe it is considered as gift store which not fall under groceries unless I bought the tea online biggrin.gif

*
Can anyone assist? Has anyone experienced this before? I reported this to CIMB on 23rd Dec, until now no update. I guess they are figuring out the calculation themselves doh.gif

Statement balance amount, the one without cash rebate. Other banks allow you to deduct the cash back before payment but it seems CIMB doesn't allow and will impose penalty to cardholders. There were a few forummers shared abouf this earlier.

not sure got rebate or not. i got no other card to pay IWK anyways, no harm trying. else, i'd just ust M2U CASA to pay IWK.

CIMB cashback card is the lousiest card ever I have been using so far..
They call me up to sign up the credit PLUS shield, which I find it not bad since I have signed it with other credit card company as well..

But this CIMB is too cunning.. They purposely charged it on 28th of every month..

This is fine with me.. I clear my statement bill on every 27 to avoid the credit charges.. Thats fine.. But whenever I do transaction on 25, 26, 27 or even 28, it will suddenly squeeze in to fit into 28th and with extra credit charges which make me really find it a scam..

All other credit card I always pay fully on 1st to 5th of every month without any extra charges, only this cunning CIMB using such trick to make customer to pay extra charges.. What lar CIMB..

All this Credit plus shield thingy, I honestly find it crap.

If you are not happy with it, just cancel it? Not a big deal plus you don't have to cough up the few dollars.

I suppose the statement date is 28th of every month? Then, you are responsible to clear up your statement balance up till 28th within the 20 days interest free period.

highlighted blue: this is normal, they charge on statement date, which is 28th. similar to BT also, it get charged on statement date. what's wrong with that? since you already agreed to sign up that credit Plus shield, it's your right to understand the T&Cs of it, including when it get charged, etc etc, right?

highlighted red: what do you mean by "squeeze in to fit into 28th" for your transactions on 25, 26, 27, or 28? isnt that how it works on statement billing? since the statement cutoff is 28th, any transctions posted on last 29th until current 28th will all be "billed/charged" to your current 28th statement. there's nothing to squeeze. this is like a postpaid billing, "use first, pay later".

the problem i see is you're not used to CIMB's statement on 28th, whereas your other cards is on early of the month.

But I'm not okay that I once paid the full balance on 28.. and also made a transaction on 28 the same day..

It usually took more than 3 to 5 days for that to be posted.. But why it have to be always on the 28th..

I have been using CITI, HLB, Maybank none are doing so..

Maybe u are right, im not used with the 28th statement.. I dun even have plan to keep this card anyway.. Just merely to express my experience with CIMB credit card which as a customer I dun find it I have a good experience with them..

Thanks for the feedback though.. biggrin.gif

i always pay statement amount AFTER statement date, just so that i dont screw up the amount to be paid smile.gif

furthremore, i always utlize the 20days grace period (after statement date), so the amount i need to IBG/IBFT will never be wrong (unless i got weird fingers hitting extra/less digit laugh.gif )

Yea.. I always do that for other credit card..

But what they charged are the credit plus shield lolx.. Im trying to avoid getting the charges though which occurs on 28th of every month, they do not have a buffer/grace period like given extra one day..

I signed up this credit shield for other card, but I nvr even once getting charged for that bcos I always remember to pay on 1st or 2nd of every month..

This is the reason why I am saying I have a very bad experience with the bank itself.. Hahaha.. But its purely my own opinion.. Others might are enjoying paying the credit shield charges happily.. I dunno..

Cheers biggrin.gif

I'm not sure about you guys but I'm pretty happy with CIMB Cash Rebate Mastercard.

It has been my most active card after I cut my MBB2 AMEX and my MBB Ikhwan Mastercard is only active on Fridays and Saturdays. Of course in my wallet, I still got UOB ONE Classic and Citibank Cash Back Platinum.

1. 28th of each month is the cut-off date for CIMB CR Credit Card.
2. Generating the statement of account is time consuming (Usually 4 to 5 working days)

CIMB takes time to generate and send the PDF version of the statement/bill to your email address.

They're not as efficient as UOB. I have to give credit to UOB for this! thumbup.gif

dont know. login and try.

disadvantage of using POSonline: need at least RM50 and 2% Convenience Fee Charges (with 6% GST on top of it) for using credit card.

not really worth it unless no other options.

Hi fruitie,

Grabcar's MCC is considered as Ecom which entitled to 5%CB?

I checked with Uber, their code was Taxi & Limousine btw I think it will not be charged as Ecom. hmm.gif

Or anyone experienced riding these can confirm on this?

According to Uber, Uber is registered under the Merchant Category Code 4121, for Taxicabs and Limousines.

Just to double confirm with you, means that Uber transactions also entitled for the Online Ecom 5% CB then?

If yes, I am going to change to CIMB CB liao rclxm9.gif

Looking at posonline list of payees https://www.posonline.com.my/ecommerce/New1/PaymentList.asp

I can see got Unifi. Getting charged 2.12% (2% plus 6% on the charge) is okay if you don't have better cashback for unifi.

I applied VOX but rejected, so currently I can't really get cashback for unifi unless using AEON Watami. In any case, based on hafizhans report I will test with RM50 payment first, see if really can kena 5%. Report end of the month la =)

EDIT: Oops minimum RM50, will test that

EDIT2:
Basic maths
Bill: RM50
Payment: RM51.06
Cashback: RM51.06 * 0.05 = RM2.55
Effective cashback: RM2.55 - RM1.06 = RM1.49
Effective cashback percentage: RM1.49 / RM50 = 2.98%

Still more worth it to use Watami unless I already maxed that out. Nvm will try, I think I will sure max Watami soon anyway.

Looking at posonline list of payees https://www.posonline.com.my/ecommerce/New1/PaymentList.asp

I can see got Unifi. Getting charged 2.12% (2% plus 6% on the charge) is okay if you don't have better cashback for unifi.

I applied VOX but rejected, so currently I can't really get cashback for unifi unless using AEON Watami. In any case, based on hafizhans report I will test with RM50 payment first, see if really can kena 5%. Report end of the month la =)

EDIT: Oops minimum RM50, will test that

EDIT2:
Basic maths
Bill: RM50
Payment: RM51.06
Cashback: RM51.06 * 0.05 = RM2.55
Effective cashback: RM2.55 - RM1.06 = RM1.49
Effective cashback percentage: RM1.49 / RM50 = 2.98%

why not unifi autopay ?

How do we reload our Alipay using CIMB CR?
I thought cards that not registered in China cannot use to reload Alipay? My China friend usually transferred money to my Alipay or she helps me to pay my Taobao purchases. biggrin.gif

That means direct payment to Taobao is it, I guess that's entitled for 5%.
There is a service charge of 3% I supposed, not worth for me.

I m using the Cimb visa infinite, all transactions are subject to 0.5%/1% rebates, no need to remember which merchant codes and monitor the credit use per month. No cap on the rebates more straight forward to me.

But the % is not as high as CIMB CR.

If you want a hassle free card, can get Aeon Watami but it excludes petrol.

Well, everyone has different needs, some don't mind the hassle while some find it troublesome.

No right or wrong.

Those cash return 5% are not exactly 5% based on the actual transaction amount, many formulas and cap assigned to each category. Very difficult to monitor for me

You can't change merchant code, you can't do much because it's tagged to the terminal. So learn from experience if you don't get cash back.

Shouldn't it be obvious? Prefer 5% (actually 2.9% after deduction) than 0.02%? Even if you're having the cheapest RM149+6% plan, RM2 rebate is still less than 2.9% cashback.

I thought can conveniently auto charge IWK bills for CIMB CR since it did say 2% rebate autopayment/SI for utilities.

Anyways if anyone is wondering, IWK bill for December has been autopaid by my CIMB CR and no 2% rebate. It falls under the 0.2% other retail rebates.

Guess still POSonline then.

note that via airasiago one can book hotel/flights/hotel + flights.

i received 5% when i booked a hotel via airasiago.

so, there's a chance i can get the rebate when i book flights/flights + hotel

Er.. RM 50 cash back is very normal in the market, how much are you expecting actually? laugh.gif
Anyway, that said I don't use my CIMB CR that often too because I have UOB VOX for online transactions. Only if the transaction is below RM 50, then I will use CIMB CR and my usual Uber and MyTeksi rides also charged to CIMB CR. biggrin.gif

You can always insist to have only one card. I was offered with another card too when I applied CIMB CR and I made it very clear that I only want CIMB CR, do not send me other additional cards.

I only received CIMB CR at the end.

e.g. CIMB CR due date @ 4 Jan (example). Is it safe to pay the bill +1 day? +2 days? so on...

Why not? It's not related.

It will only affect your tiered interest rate.

that's mbb case whereby if you slapped by late payment charge, your 8.88% not applicable anymore and became 18%.

Yes, i am more concern if the late charges are waived, does the bank reinstate the 20days grace period immediately.. Else we will be slapped by another late charges if the next cc payment is made during the 20days grace period.

less than 1 month user here, help me understand below (from Cimbclicks):

Present
Current Amount Due : RM 3xx.00
Amount Over Due : RM 0.00
Min. Payment Due : RM 0.00
Payment Due Date : 17-Jan-2016

Last Statement
Statement Balance : RM 0.00
Statement Date : 28-Dec-2015
Payment Amount : RM 0.00
Payment Date : -

1) do i need to pay rm3xx before 17-Jan?
2) if no1 yes, cause all transaction are on early Jan, shud be included in 28th jan statement correct?
3) how quick cimbclicks update these details? my transaction early yesterday still not included.
4) buy on9 just now thru 11street, didn't receive msg alert (i changed my msg alert to min rm1), is it normal for online purchase?

1) no, cuz you didnt spend anything before 28-Dec (bill date). look at "statement balance", RM0.00 right?

2) correct, any transactions posted >28 Dec and by 28 Jan, shall be consolidated as "monthly" transaction statement on 28 Jan. Your payment due date shall be 17 Feb (+20 days grace period after statement date on 28 Jan <--- this is your final final payment date.)

3) depends on the posting by the merchant/bank. usually +1 to +2 days. sometimes longer. if you transacted yesterday 9 Jan, probably posted on 10 Jan, then you would see it in cimbclicks on 11 Jan. FYI cimbclicks always +1 day after posting, cuz cimbclicks refreshes the acccount transactions on daily basis (midnight), not realtime.

4) yes, usually online transactions already going thru the CIMB's Secure ePay Code/TAC to your mobile. most banks suppresses the sms alert (redundant, cuz Secure ePay Code/TAC direct to your mobile is acceptably secure and that you are the original card owner to receive the code and verify the online transaction).

1) Statement balance is RM 0. No need to pay by January 17th, 2016.
3) Usually take two to three days to get updated unless merchant is using CIMB terminal/POS.

Temporary increase of limit can't swipe for EPP if that's not within your CL laugh.gif

He only have 10, he wants to swipe 20 and convert to 12 months.

Mana boleh? Usually bank will only allow EPP within your CL only.

Yes, this is considered as advanced payment and will incur super high interest which is calculated based on daily rate. Do not withdraw cash from credit cards at anytime.

Not recommended unless super super urgent. I think about 5% charge on amount withdrawn on top of the daily interest.

always faced bad experience from online..

applied before then suddenly marked my case as cancelled without reason..

maybe i am not fortunate enough so i guess applying direct from an agent who needs to hit target would be perfect..

I think this case is different from UOB Payonline. Instead of putting UOB or UOB Payonline, it displays the payee name directly. Guess that's the reason why it's not classified as online for Payonline.

Yeah, just noticed this on my UOB VOX as well as it shows TNB when I tested this payment few months ago, thank God, it is considered as online transactions under VOX.

Hi, can I know anyone use CIMB Cash Rebate to purchase things via paypal in foreign currency. Will I get 5% cash back and there won't be cross border fee because trade in merchant currency right?

I have my CIMB CashRebate linked to my PayPal. Few days ago around 12midnight, I received SMS from CIMB showing a PayPal transaction using GBP. It was an unauthorized transaction. I called CIMB, and block the card. And I un-link all credit card from PayPal, change password. Make report to CIMB and PayPal.
Today I receive a new card with new number. Just to share here. And be careful if you have any credit card link with PayPal.

If you're charged in their currency, you won't.

To be safe, UOB Vox is much better in some sense because of this nonsense 0.8% cross border thingy.

I was thinking to get the Rm70 rebate through application from cimb clicks for new cimb user in view of replacement for utilities paid by MAybank 2 cards earlier
*
i see.. i experience online error most of the time.. like last time rhb i apply online but they did not receive my applications yet online said application submitted..

better through telesales or do it manually

or if you want to do online, best is call CS after u submitted it

For Agoda/Experia, is the price shown in the search result discounted or will it be discounted during the booking? Thanks...

for agoda, usually the discount will be reflected once you enter your card number (without the need to proceed to confirm booking), provided there is a CC linked promotion.

the price shown is not yet discounted. if you logged in while viewing, the price may be further discounted for insider deals. and if you enter via any agoda/cc link, you will get another discount after you key in your cc details.

Anyone experienced paying by posonline but payment never actually goes through? Still shows 'pending transaction' for 2 weeks already. Confirm from unifi side bill never went through, and my CC never been charged either.

I have paid for my Indah Water bill and it went through.

You can click the status to see whether transaction is successful or not.

Please be note that when you key in the card expired, there is (YY/MM), but not (MM/YY)

Yeah I just tried again and now this one went through.

Probably you are right, I have mistyped the card expiry date that's why previous transaction 'hang'. But surprised it still pending rather than fail.

Thank you very much sir.

I booked a room through Agoda for RM174.38 but a few days later I have to cancel it because I have found a better option. That transaction has been charged into my account.

Charged in account : 175.78 (with cross border fee)
Refunded in account : 174.38

The refund amount should be 175.78 right?

i just checked mine:

1) rm217.67 refunded rm215.94
2) rm265.63 refunded rm263.52

so yeah, the cross border fee of 0.8% will not be refunded.

i guess the difference (RM1.40) is the 0.8% cross border charge by CIMB.
so you only able get the full amount from Agoda but not the remaining 0.8% by CIMB.

i think if use other card (without cross border charge) will not have this issue.
correct me if i am wrong.

I wonder if CIMB could 'earn' that RM 1.40 even though the transaction has been cancelled.

Let's say you are paying the minimum Unifi amount (RM158). Autopay gives RM2 rebate and 0.2% if you use cash rebate, for a total of RM2.32 cash back

If posonline gives 5% (I haven't confirmed that, just trying for the first time, but based on previous postings I'm fairly confident it should) then you get charged 2.12% (2% charge plus GST). So your cashback will be 2.78%, or Rm4.39.

Of course, if you autopay using AEON Watami (3% cashback) would be better, but my Watami cashback looks likely to be maxed out regularly. Looking only at CIMB CR for this comparison.

I believe u asking specific to cimb temp increase limit.

As i know most of the bank can process the temp incraease limit fast (in few hours or up to 1 day).
Most of the bank limit the reason to urgent case like medical or travel.

Some bank practise to approve the tx for u immdiately and and process to decide the temp increase limit approved or not.
If no appove, u need to pay the money in next few days.

You will see the payment something like 1/12 or 1/6 depending on your installment duration.

laugh.gif Yeah but can maximise RM 50? I thought RM 30 is for online already, no matter what only RM 20 for retail?
Anyway, can bring this to CIMB thread.
*
yeah, max rm30 is for online. but if you didn't spend any on online, then your other categories like grocery, petrol, etc. can take up the whole rm50 cb. nod.gif

yeah, it used to be able to max all rm50 under online when the card just started/introduced. maybe too many people only maximising the whole rm50 monthly cb for online, so they revised it to max rm30 only for online. sad.gif

Thanks bro. I actually read that once the article was published back then. I'm aware of the pro and cons published on paper. However, what I'm interested to know is the 'hidden' benefit that World Elite MasterCard might be offering, or will I have special offering from CIMB. Hope some sifu can shed some light on this smile.gif

I tried several payees at UOB Payonline and had draw my own conclusion that everything paid at using this card won't be getting 5% CR.

So I have gave up that channel.

Not all payees support 3rd pay credit card at M2U.

The payee list is relatively short and limited.

If it doesn't show in your favourites, that means it doesn't support. biggrin.gif

I have a CIMB cash rebate but I am unable to find DIGI or Telekom Unifi in the list of payee under CIMB Clicks, so what I do is I used my maybank CC in M2U to pay for this two.

Any one who managed to pay for Digi and Unifi in CIMB CLICKS using the cash rebate or is there any other alternative you guys can advise, much appreciate.

Yes..I was using PosOnline for last statement date for TNB payment...it is safely to say that it is considered as Online payment...just that Posonline has commission charges due to usage of credit card and GST

Despite the charges, It is still ok for payment of IWK and quit rent bills, as these are not accepted for credit card payment elsewhere, unless some one can share

If the bank statement date is 28th of each month and during that day I spent for certain goods, will the statement balance add in the amount I spent on 28th for this month? I found out CIMB Clicks will shown yellow error signed with "payment due" indicated in red in the system. But so far my payment is settled in full.

I don't think it'll be posted so fast. If it's posted, then you have to pay for it in the Statement Balance.

That is pretty much depending on the merchant....some merchant submit fast, while others tend to hold for a day or two (two being very unlikely)...even online payment...most will hold for 1 day at least , while some submit on the same day

My lazada purchase i made at 10am on 29th still not posted in CIMB, while 11street purchase on 30th I already able to see the outstanding amount in CIMclicks today

Ok guys, just some confirmation, since I made Astro payment via Astro website and that is also considered as Online payment and entitled for 5% CB, what if we make payment for Maxis (mobile and fibre service) via Maxis website, will that be considered as online payment.

Please share if any of you tested this scenario before. Thank you

Astro is already tested by others some times back. laugh.gif
Nope, for mobile payments will not be getting back anything under CIMB CR no matter which channel you use.

I paid for MAS taxes and surcharges online on the 25th thinking that it would be posted before my statement date on the 28th but the transaction was only posted on the 30th. So yes, there are companies that post them much later.

OK, different people interpret differently. smile.gif
Anyway, if want to pay bills and get 5% cash back, apply VOX and pay via UOBPayOnline. I have both of these cards and VOX works better for my spending.

Okay I can confirm, CIMB Cash Rebate gives 5% for payonline payment of Unifi bill. Just received for my latest payment.

EDIT: Sorry, wrong info, I meant to type posonline, not payonline.

Very good. rclxms.gif
It is strange that other payments via UOBPayOnline doesn't entitle for cash rebate but UniFi has. biggrin.gif
Another alternative for me if Wise and VOX fail. biggrin.gif

Based on same logic, all other merchants eg Tnb, Syabas, DBKL, MPSJ etc listed in UOB payonline also entitled for 5% rebate?

If this is the case, that means referred to posted date in CIMB Clicks and if statement balance did not stated the transaction, it will included in the next statement and it won't charge under late charges so long I pay the current outstanding amount.

I notice that there is no cross border fee for a voucher purchased through Groupon app. But, I am not sure and couldn't confirm if the purchase is considered as E-Com. Will know about that in the next statement.

not necessary.

i did 4 groupons purchases, 2 with cross border fee, 2 without. rclxub.gif

it depends on which payment gateway groupon is using/redirected at the time of purchase.

guys, i am a new CIMB Enrich World Elite card holder. Got the card last month. As with all the credit cards that I have used before, the annual fee is charged at the end of the 1 year term. This gives us the opportunity to cancel the card if the condition of the waiver for the annual fee is not met.

However, for CIMB Enrich World Elite, the annual fee is charged upfront upon the first statement. I have called up the CS and confirmed that it is charged upfront. this is however not mentioned in the card T&C.

My next course of action is to cancel card upon settlement of outstanding balance and request for a waiver. The waiver is subject to their approval and would be pro-rated to the duration you held the card.

Have anyone experience the same predicament before? what are the chances of me getting the annual fee back?
