Got the same problem too. Submitted the online application and got rejected with no apparent reason.

It's kinda weird cos my income is way above their requirement. In fact, Maybank even called me to offer credit facilities so I doubt I have a bad credit record.

Perhaps I was rejected for being potentially unprofitable, since I pay my bills promptly every month 
Or maybe credit card business is not their product focus for the time being.   
Called and the customer service said I should try again after 6 months 

Meh... It's just not my day.

Shared rented apartment. No car either since I'm staying nearby LRT station.

Other than that, nope, there's no commitment. Only own one credit card from Maybank which I use mainly to pay utility bills, shopping etc like everyone else, so the CIMB card application is just for backup (and cash back benefits too  ).

I don't keep much cash in bank though, since I've been reinvesting those money into mutual funds, gold account, retirement funds etc.
