QUOTE(sheng291 @ Oct 18 2015, 11:07 AM) haha..fair enough la..don't see a problem on that.. u wanna change to pink IC? though those high earning coupe in S'pore will normally remain 1 M'sia IC in order to hold properties in Msia.. Most if not all my Malaysian couples, either husband/wife will convert to SG citizen and the other remain as Malaysian. You get subsidized education/childcare yet you get to retire in Malaysia and grow old together.

Queue from 3am just now to 8am and its not open today! Furious! So inefficient gahmen services should work 24/7 for the citizen leh. Seeing this maybe hold back my plan to apply now. Both the couple have to change now, SG gahmen also clever, see people doing this they coming out new things to counter the rip off. Malaysia have rules stopping foreigners to own properties and land or not?

QUOTE(kurniawanK @ Oct 16 2015, 01:15 PM) Hi all, I just want to ask how hard it is with the current situation to secure a chemical engineering job in SG as a fresh grad? 'Chemical engineering job' is a bloody vague term actually. If you go on job site and search for it, chances are you are looking at jobs that would also qualify Mech and Electrical engg grad. For those O&G and pharma companies, its impossible to get in unless you are a top student from a top uni. There are close to thousand of chem engg student graduating from NUS and NTU every year and even some of them have difficulties finding relevant jobs and you probably know how high these 2 uni rank in the chem engg league table. Basically Imo chemical engineering is too much of a niche in the job market. You would probably find a lot of sales engineer position but then I heard you need a SG driving licence/PR to stand a better chance. Try send out 50 resume from now and test the water. Don't take anybody's word for it. But by this time, most of the graduate position are mostly filled. Anyway, good luck.

QUOTE(rawrkun @ Oct 18 2015, 11:24 AM) I'm actually hopping for 4 months coz I know some people that managed to get theirs within that time frame.. just no sure how common it is or maybe just for a few exceptional case.. I got mine approved recently..Applied end of Jan 2015, noticed the approval via ienquiry mid Aug. Received letter early Sep. There sure took their own sweet time to send the letter. They only sent out after I have sent an email to ask. The timeframe for approval varies from case to case. Another colleague of mine who applied slightly earlier than me took 7 months to receive the letter. This post has been edited by highwind85: Oct 19 2015, 10:39 AM

I got mine in 2 months, submit application form until I get my IC. Planning to apply for dependent PR this December for my wife, what are their criteria now? Income? Housing? Babies?

Hi Guys,
I applied for a position at a bank in Singapore (IT related). I received 2 phone interviews, no face to face interview. Oddly, I got the job and confirmed it via e-mail. Is this common for job applicants in SG?
The HR said that they need to do background screening and EP application concurrently, and by the way, they are using a third party firm called First Advantage to conduct investigation. It was briefed to me that after I pass the screening process and EP application, I will then be given the offer letter.
I signed the consent form without asking much. Do you guys happen to have any idea what does First Advantage checks for, especially for job applicants in the banking sector?
The work place will be in Changi Business park, getting a room to rent in Tampines would be a good idea, you reckon?
