Hi guys, i'm a fresh grads from INTI in Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and planning to working in Singapore. Currently waiting for my results so i can get my transcript to apply for jobs. I have few question to ask here,

1. What is the starting salary for Mechanical Engineer in Singapore?
2. Any members here are mechanical engineer and can intro me to their company? Or any members working in a company that needs engineer? hahaha =)

EP is hard to get nowadays. many of my colleague got S pass and some even got a WP. Those on the $3-3.5k range no need to hope for EP anymore. Those below 3k, prepare to take WP. at least that's what happen in the place i working now.

What documents? Think most of us here don't bother translating Malaysia documents like birth cert. Although technically and officially they say must translate but rarely they will reject Malaysia documents.

Yes, they didn't require any doc translation. All my certs was in malay. But the officer who attended to me was malay too

Yes, that's what I heard from my HR, it seems like there is different quota seperated with Foreigner like PRC, Philippino, Myanmmar. They have no issue in hiring Malaysians, but having issues in getting other countries with permit. Recently my company has no choice but to let few new foreigner staff leave as they couldn't get the pass for them successfully. Whereas for Malaysian is fine.

Maybe is not really call seperated quota, but for Malaysian, Singapore government tends to give some benefit for Malaysian to work in Sg due to similar culture and environment.

I beg to differ. Taxi drivers seem to always know that I'm Malaysian whether I speak Mandarin or English. I think i don't use 'anyhow' and 'wah kaoz' enough in my speech
