5% Cash back for groceries and petrol everyday! Capped at RM88/month, that's equivalent to max RM1056. Pay annual fee still earn RM506. Very good indeed.

Indeed a good card to compete with PB VS.

What I like about Maybank is that, all details and documents are listed at the site.

This one is interesting:

All Paywave transactions for the first 6 months after card launch date will also be
entitled to a 5% cashback. Cashback earned from paywave transactions will not be
independent and will be included in the RM88.00 per month capping as per the total
cashback earned from petrol and groceries.

But not many merchants carry the PayWave option or it's not usable ... Currently AEON stores are introducing them.

Bro, next year when we got to use PIN, wave cards would be very convenient. In Australia, for transactions under AUD100, can use my wave cards without PIN.

Departmental store is not eligible for 5x TP nor 5% cash rebate right (only groceries does)?

to think that one needs to spend 50K on petrol and groceries, that's quite hard to achieve.

like I said, with RM88/month cash back, what's there to complain about annual fee if one cannot hit RM50K spending.

the following statements are just for fun(no offense)

I feel that MBB should rebrand this card to "Maybank Visa Signature for mini market taukeh, lorry/trucks driver" because to maximize RM88 cash back permonth with 5% rebate rate you need to spend RM1760 on either grocery or petrol or combine of both (for example RM880 for grocery and RM880). Failure to do that you have to cut the card next year before aniversary except MBB decided to be generous to waive the AF.

Says you max up 1760 exactly like most of the prosumer in this forum did for all the cards (to maximize rebate and not to let the bank win a cent) you actually spent RM21,120 per annum and you are still lack of 28,880 before your AF is waived automatically.

I bet most of the prosumers here have other card for utilities payments that provide cash back in different way. To fill the gap of another RM28,880 for 28800 TP that equivalent to RM 115.2 or 0.4% CB could be tricky for regular consumer. except elites like GENXY that may want to buy a Rolex, but i bet he has other card like MBB VI or AMEX premier that give him 5X TP and better enrich miles conversion.

Also, don't forget about the RM50 GST (maybe abolished 2015, maybe not), of course you can offset it using partial 28800 TP you may had earn to offset that.

hence i strongly suggest that all lorry/trucks drive who earn 100k per annum should apply for this card. Providing diesel is considered in the rebate category.

I think someone in MBB must had discover the prosumers bahavior here in LYN and had decided to come out with this card to challenge them to "maximized" it. Any one here can come out with a plan to maximize the benefits of the card?

Actually Any one who qualify for the card and willing to pay the GST/AF can own the card. Moreover you are a bus driver who own MBB WMC, MBB VI, MBB dual card premier, frequently fly around EURO/GC and enjoy driving VW/BMW. I see no reason why you should not apply if you wish to get the card smile.gif

Frankly, the benefit is much better than VI in my opinion. For example, priority pass still not accepted by Plaza Premium Lounge at KLIA2, not to say the additional cash rebate. Very attractive, so regret just got myself VI. should have applied for this one instead.

Problem is hate to carry too many cards in wallet. Besides, there is government tax, annual fee etc need to pay. It is impossible for me to get both VS & VI annual fee waived. 50k for VI alone is already hard to achieve....

Bro, not that I missed it but more like I left it out,

Tha main attraction of the Maybank VS is the cash back and Free entries to the airport lounge. And if both these benefits attract a person to go apply for the card, I guess one earning more than RM100K should be smart enough to go to Maybank website and gather more info.

No calls from MBB offering me the Visa Signature. But since you got thier VI, just call them and they will be more than happy to issue you the VS because

1. You have to spend extra RM50K on top of your VI's requirement.
2. Credit Limit is shared and as such no diff to MBB.

Bro, you want to give up MBB2? The AMEX is very handy, just spend RM1K locally on weekends in a year and the GST is covered (RM2K for new applications).

Maybank had on Wednesday launched its Maybank Visa Signature credit card which is the country's first credit card to offer both cash back on a daily basis as well as flexibility to convert Treats points into cash.

In your opinion, which is more valuable, cashback or enrich miles?
I currently have the maybank amex reserve, so all petrol and groceries are already being awarded 5x treatspoints, is it worth switching to cashback of 5% with the maybank visa signature, and using it instead of amex reserve?

Say spending of RM21,120 per year, around RM1760 per month on groceries and petrol
Maximum cashback on visa signature per year - RM1056
Maximum enrich miles with amex reserve - 23466 miles
Which is more valuable? Ignoring the other perks from both cards (valet parking, Lounge access etc)

Btw I currently use the enrich miles for a business class ticket to London and back twice a year at least

u need to prioritize which one more important to you..
enrich or 5% cash back..
or if can earn enough enrich miles for business class ticket, then can take VS as combo to spend on petrol and grocery..

With some assumptions

1. buying a business class ticket cost MYR 14,871
2. Redemption via Enrich cost 93500 EM + MYR 2679

Spending 93500 EM save you MYR 12,192. 23455 EM translate to approx. MYR 3,060

Like maskedchan point out if the miles is useful then go for miles, if your miles is taken care off then go for cash back.

All my Maybank cards are by pledging FD (expat and no income documents, they won't accept any other way) .

Did it via e-mail initially, do FD in branch then pay RM10 stamping fee and done thumbup.gif

Thanks for the info smile.gif I'll have to decide whether to apply for VI or Visa Signature, as both are equally good. hmm.gif

Hmm... That's not a lot of money for a card that states RM180k annual income requirement.

Interesting. these means i can be earning less than RM60k and still wave around maybank VS or VI. I don't really care about limits anyway, get to enjoy the benefits then i'll be fine. LOL

I don't see why you want to get VI here because VS have better benefit..
if you want to convert TP to enrich, premier is much better choice...otherwise, I think VS much better option than VI..

true, but you need to spend 50k for annual fees waiver unless you willing to pay the annual fees...
so you need to calculate whether it is still worth it for you..
while VI doesn't offer any cashback, I don't see any benefit you want this card..
VS should be better choice...

yup, noted on the annual fee, more like a once-off thing. then re-apply years down the road.

Just finding it weird to be able to obtain the card that easily. I mean, not really high income and yet waving a black-coloured card around...

just thought having a VS card will be fun... for rebates and premium lounge at airports

Called CS to apply MB VS via phone since I'm MBB 2 premier card holder..
The CS passed to a marketing Exec. to get few details from me..
The marketing exec. told me that a processing officer will call me if he/she needs more info and the approval process would take 2 weeks....

Simple, like all cards (For salary employee)
1) Application form
2) IC
3) Salary Slip
4) Bank statement indicating your cheque deposit/transfer of salary
5) Income Tax documents

Thats all.

Actually the last number is a random number. In credit card numbering system all the numbers are pretty much in sequence except the last so as to fulfill the way luhn formula works.

Whereas PBB VS's min CL is 30k.

Anyone have any idea what to do when using the valet club? Do we present the card at drop off, or at pick up?

u can fledge FD to get mbb premier and then apply VS as add on...or just Pledge FD to get VS..
so, existing premier/VI card holder (no matter how much the annual income) can apply VS as addon ..share the CL with other cards..

I am one of the pioneer using TVC. Although the MBB VS gives 3 hours free valet service (equivalent to TVC Platinum membership) but there is a monthly shared quota limit by all VS members. I guess TVC will be using the Visa Paywave scan feature to check on the monthly quota usage. Another thing to note is the valet locations are pretty limited at the moment.

actually the staff told me if u existingly hold any higher grade of MBB card and looking to apply for lower grade then just "add on" by filling up a very simple form - name, IC no, new card name, thats all, no docs or even IC is required.

for those card with no annual fees, straight go to any Maybank card centre and they can process it within 2 hours

Hi Great Card Owner, can i know how much maybank offers the CL for you for this awesome card? Thinking to apply 1 if CL is good. Possible RM100k and above?

Normally CL for signature, world and infinity wont use the formula like monthly income x 2 or x 3 like that, right?

Not sure why need higher, buy i always notice Maybank promoting easy house scheme using their card for zero percent installment. Says Rm40k for downpayment, thats helps a lot. Currently they offers a lot project in cyberjaya like Pangea and Kanvas.

But currently all my platinum cards is like half of it only sweat.gif

if u need a higher limit just for down payment u can just give them a call to increase your cc for one to two weeks....it only takes 3 working days to approve and personally i think that's better as the higher limit u have when your card get lost, that will be a big headache

but when come to property hunting, one or 2 weeks is a huge big time gap. These gaps can lost me projected return from rm10k to rm30k. Thats why a lot people Q over nite for good deal. Normally launching nowaday come about as "flash announcement", this only applicable to good project investment

haha, already imprinted in my mindset long time ago,

Whenever saw people using a black card (which im assume should be at least visa signature) to pay for grocery or dining at counter, i will always pop out "wow, he must be rich for using this awesome card, CL should be rm100k minimum) sweat.gif

Until today, seems like im wrong. Better class for CC is for more privilege on benefits

RM30k CL (min) for VS is like low only. Cant felt the prestige.

Work so dayum hard only can get to this VS league.  rclxub.gif

Ayam peri peri, you should apply this :
MBB AMEX Charge card

No pre-set spending limit
Minimum annual income:
RM48,000

NO CL Limit, the only limit is the sky, cheers ! Peri Peri

but this card no offer CB right? i mean Cash Back. Sometime i hate those treat point things, have to plan and think what to redeem. Sometime redeemed items become useless. I still prefer pure cash back or on the spot purchase rebate

*
Thanks for sharing. I think as long as valet location covers most of the major shopping malls like The Garden, One U, Pavilion etc, that is already very useful especially during weekend. That's my consideration.

Applied mine on Monday in KLCC, just received a text from MBB that the card is approved.

The timing of the card came just right since I've a few business trips coming up next month, time to collect the fat points.

It is quite different for my case using PBB paywave. The bank is not able to detect the transaction even after 2 days, not even as a floating transaction. I was hoping it is never recorded at all laugh.gif

This card entitles free access to domestic lounges only right? Can it be used to access other lounges internationally? If yes, how many times per year? Or is it also free unlimited access??? tongue.gif

This is a good lounge biggrin.gif

Plaza Premium Lounge at KLIA has way too many people most of the time. I almost never go despite having multiple cards giving me access.

I just visit the Senai Airport PPL. To my surprise, the guy say they only accept Maybank Visa Infinite and do not recognize Maybank Visa Signature. I wonder why they have not been informed about the launching of Maybank Visa Signature. Luckily I still can enter using my Citibank Amex and the discontinued HLB Visa Signature.

Nothing wrong with applying for it and cancelling it before the annual fee is due.
The 20k TP confirmed + potential for another 10k is pretty attractive.

i think i shud juz charge rm50000 annually to mbb2 amex instead of VS,

50k to VS = save rm550 AF + rm200(250tp - rm1) = rm750

50k to mbb2 amex =rm1000(250tp - 1) or rm rm952( 262.5tp - 1/shop.voucher etc)

-rm750 = rm250/rm200 extra.

is my calculation correct?

5% petrol and groceries not entitle for TP

5% all spent on weekend + TP

mine calculation is purely for TP to cash/voucher/tp purchase etc

i come out with this calculation as VS will be my petrol&groceries card as i comfirmed maxed out mbb2 amex(utilities+departmental+entertainment) and watami (insurance+dining+online purchase not accept amex) every month/quarter doh.gif not forget ocbc for all other/fully utilise sweat.gif

Not really got any special guide.

Just that I submit as normal application and maybe get a good CS who handle my case I think.

In the email for applications I do mention that I willing to pledge fd if needed.

Actually my 'journey' till get this card all are post in this thread.

Maybe I can ask the CS wether he willing I reveal his name so ppl who want to apply thru same method can attn the case to him.

It depends on the individual store because Maybank do not roll out paywave EDC to all AEON store at the same time. MV and 1U got change somewhere early May. My local AEON just got upgraded late July and the stock just ran out last week!

Incredibly low? Lower than 20k ? If you really want a higher limit you may try pledging FD .

AEON big uses MCC5411 exclusively. As for AEON , they use MCC5411 for the supermarket section , and MCC 5311 for other department. But once in a while , some supermarket EDC will ends up elsewhere vv , so that is where someone will get unlucky !

The problem will occur when they swap credit card machines without correcting the MCC codes (eg upstairs dept store and downstairs supermarket).

This Maybank VS is quite a good card on Paper as it offers 5% for Petrol and Groceries capped at RM88 per month.

However, the high AF of RM550 could be deterring factor although it can be waived for spending above RM50K per annum. Do you guys think that Maybank will be willing to waive it especially for those who only use it for Petrol and Groceries and spend only like RM12K to RM15K per annum?

Bro, just sign up for it and enjoy for maybe 11 months 5% cash back. a month before anniversary go beg for annual fee waiver. If they not willing to entertain you, go convert TP to cash and cancel the card tongue.gif Imperative that there is no outstanding balance and do not use the card after anniversary date.

Thanks for your advice Sifu. Already got the Card and registered for the 100% CB. Going to ask my wife to line up at various Merchants to swipe at 10.01 am.

The Card looks good, better than other CB for Petrol and Groceries in the market at the moment.

just wondering whether I should transfer my spending from other cards like OCBC to satisfy the RM50K spending requirement.

My other retail spending can reach RM40K per year = RM400 cash back

Petrol and Groceries perhaps RM12K to RM15K = RM600 to RM750

But if convert 40,000 RP to Cash, still get RM160 (compared to RM400) but get to enjoy the RM600 to RM750.

What do u think.

Also concerned if accumulate RP, Maybank pulls an Alliance trick on the RP Conversion. Kena Slash by 50%, sure to curse and swear

Or he can instead apply for Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Platinum or Gold card. It is free for life with absolutely no catch. You get 5% cash back for petrol and grocery transactions too. The difference however is that only transactions made on these two categories on Friday and Saturday are eligible for this 5% cash back and it is capped at RM50 per month (RM88/month for MBB VS and transactions made on these two categories on any day will get 5% cash back).

Hey, thanks for the great suggestion. Did not know that.

Most of my spendign is on weekdays, hence did not consider the M2Cards but this Ikhwan can be considered as replacement for Signature next year.

Since your spending RM50K per year, go get Maybank 2 Cards Premier AMEX and get a FREE Business Class ticket to Europe every year!

My salary do not qualify for the Premier AMEX.

Plus though I may be entitled to a Business Class to Europe but have to sleep in the Train Station once I arrive. This is one way or return ticket?

I can do it but my wife and young kids cannot lar

Bro, your wife and kids go Economy! Ticket to Paris really affordable. Hotel also affordable if you do not need 5 star accommodation.

Or, you buy economy for all and upgrade yourself and wife to Business Class. Click here and read my article when free.

Actually, you and wifey go, children stay back because Europe may be boring for them.

Hmm, actually the Premier AMEX is a good card but my kids still very young, added up less than 10-yrs old.

Perhaps in future, will consider just for the air miles but with BNM capping MDR at only 1.0%, looks like the days of good rebates and RP conversion is coming to an end.

Got 5% CB for buying groceries @ AEON SMKT - Cheras Selatan on Member's day. Confirmed.

Couldn't tell which MCC ends they are using.

AEON big uses MCC5411 exclusively. As for AEON , they use MCC5411 for the supermarket section , and MCC 5311 for other department. But once in a while , some supermarket EDC will ends up elsewhere vv , so that is where someone will get unlucky !

"The Valet Club"

1. TVC offers the first car parking valet membership program for members to enjoy the luxury and convenience of valet parking at strategic key locations throughout Klang Valley
2. Limited to 400 complimentary TVC accesses in a month (total 4,800 for 12 months from July 2014 onwards)
3. Maybank Visa Signature card members just need to present their card to be entitled for free valet parking service as long as the above mentioned allocation have not been exhausted
4. Complimentary entries subject up to a maximum of 3 hours per day per location, and up to additional RM5 per hour will be charged accordingly

I believe that the quota for 12 months period is still available
