5% Cash back for groceries and petrol everyday! Capped at RM88/month, that's equivalent to max RM1056. Pay annual fee still earn RM506. Very good indeed.

But not many merchants carry the PayWave option or it's not usable ... Currently AEON stores are introducing them.

Bro, next year when we got to use PIN, wave cards would be very convenient. In Australia, for transactions under AUD100, can use my wave cards without PIN.

Departmental store is not eligible for 5x TP nor 5% cash rebate right (only groceries does)?

to think that one needs to spend 50K on petrol and groceries, that's quite hard to achieve.
*
like I said, with RM88/month cash back, what's there to complain about annual fee if one cannot hit RM50K spending.

Click here to read my short review of the Maybank Visa Signature.

I am pleased to award the Maybank Visa Signature the title of The Best Visa Signature Credit Card in Malaysia and also The Ultimate Credit Card for FREE Entries to Plaza Premium Lounges within Malaysia, hahaha.

One "feature" you missed out : Conversion 250 TreatsPoints collected with Maybank Visa Signature to RM1 cash back
*
Bro, not that I missed it but more like I left it out,

Tha main attraction of the Maybank VS is the cash back and Free entries to the airport lounge. And if both these benefits attract a person to go apply for the card, I guess one earning more than RM100K should be smart enough to go to Maybank website and gather more info.

Bro, did they call you offering pre approved VS ? Kinda interested but if this comes in my wallet, my MBB2 will have to go.
*
No calls from MBB offering me the Visa Signature. But since you got thier VI, just call them and they will be more than happy to issue you the VS because

1. You have to spend extra RM50K on top of your VI's requirement.
2. Credit Limit is shared and as such no diff to MBB.

Bro, you want to give up MBB2? The AMEX is very handy, just spend RM1K locally on weekends in a year and the GST is covered (RM2K for new applications).

I will  still have Amex Reserve lar bro.MBB2 i use only once a month just to max out so it has become obselete. I am sure this VS can be a very good backup card for me than MBB2.
*
Bro, if you do max out the MBB 2 AMEX, more reason for you to keep it in case you max out the MBB VS tongue.gif

nice write-up..looks like maybank is sweeping all your awards!  biggrin.gif

Well, MBB do deserve the honors I have bestowed onto their credit cards, hahahaha. Bro, the article good enough to be added to Post#2? Or must I add the 250TP = RM1 thingy which is only good for overseas transactions, hahaha

This Maybank VS is quite a good card on Paper as it offers 5% for Petrol and Groceries capped at RM88 per month.

However, the high AF of RM550 could be deterring factor although it can be waived for spending above RM50K per annum.  Do you guys think that Maybank will be willing to waive it especially for those who only use it for Petrol and Groceries and spend only like RM12K to RM15K per annum?
*
Bro, just sign up for it and enjoy for maybe 11 months 5% cash back. a month before anniversary go beg for annual fee waiver. If they not willing to entertain you, go convert TP to cash and cancel the card tongue.gif Imperative that there is no outstanding balance and do not use the card after anniversary date.

Thanks for your advice Sifu.  Already got the Card and registered for the 100% CB.  Going to ask my wife to line up at various Merchants to swipe at 10.01 am.

The Card looks good, better than other CB for Petrol and Groceries in the market at the moment.

just wondering whether I should transfer my spending from other cards like OCBC to satisfy the RM50K spending requirement.

My other retail spending can reach RM40K per year = RM400 cash back

Petrol and Groceries perhaps RM12K to RM15K = RM600 to RM750

But if convert 40,000 RP to Cash, still get RM160 (compared to RM400) but get to enjoy the RM600 to RM750.

What do u think.

Also concerned if accumulate RP, Maybank pulls an Alliance trick on the RP Conversion. Kena Slash by 50%, sure to curse and swear

Since your spending RM50K per year, go get Maybank 2 Cards Premier AMEX and get a FREE Business Class ticket to Europe every year!

Or he can instead apply for Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Platinum or Gold card. It is free for life with absolutely no catch. You get 5% cash back for petrol and grocery transactions too. The difference however is that only transactions made on these two categories on Friday and Saturday are eligible for this 5% cash back and it is capped at RM50 per month (RM88/month for MBB VS and transactions made on these two categories on any day will get 5% cash back).
Above is why you my Grand Master Sifu notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I may be entitled to a Business Class to Europe but have to sleep in the Train Station.

I can do it but my wife and young kids cannot lar

Bro, your wife and kids go Economy! Ticket to Paris really affordable. Hotel also affordable if you do not need 5 star accommodation.

Or, you buy economy for all and upgrade yourself and wife to Business Class. Click here and read my article when free.

Actually, you and wifey go, children stay back because Europe may be boring for them.

This must ask our sife Gen-X to apply and give his review

http://www.maybank.com/en/private-wealth/r...a-infinite.page

I did not even know such a Card existed.  Tks for highlighting.

Don't suppose when you're supposed to be so rich, you'll ask whether the card comes with CB and how many Enrich Miles
*
Wah.... Bro, I only got Maybank Premier Wealth status and don't have RM5M cash reserve to go deposit with Maybank to qualify for Private Wealth status cry.gif

No more by invitation card for me, cash reverse depleting by the day, happy that I was approved for the useless UOB Privilege Banking VI ( Ranked No.10 in my Top 10 credit card showdown 2015 ) and I guess that's the highest card level card I can achieve:

For those who need a card for overseas non-online transactions, I want to introduce (FOR FREE, not earning a single sen in commission), the AmBank World MasterCard and or Visa Infinite (A Review by VergonDC) where the annual income requirement is the same as Maybank Visa Signature. And with 5X AmBank Bonus Points for non-online overseas transaction, the cardholder earns cash back of 2.5% which is more than MBB VS 2%.

The AmBank World MasterCard MC's overseas conversion rate is much better than Maybank Visa Signature from VergonDC's experience. And you also get to enter airport lounges locally and overseas compared to MBB VS where you can only enter local airport lounges. And the Enrich Miles conversion is very good too for overseas transactions. And best of all, the AMBank WMC and VI are FREE FOR LIFE without any conditions versus Maybank Visa Signature where you need to spend RM50K yearly to get the annual fee waived.
