What Korean custom do you recommend that has board feet? I'm not a fan of the angled look, since that would potentially cause scratches on the bottom surface. I'm currently looking at the GONs and KMACs. Lightsaver...not my cup of tea. LZ, OTD and 456GT way over my budget.

Go to the services thread and ask an agent to purchase it for you directly from Corsair. Total charges should be RM95-100 for full key set (WASD/1-6/keycap puller/wrist rest).

Locally no one sells it yet.

If it's that obvious why question it in the beginning? And correct, so it's not fugly since everyone DID buy it. No IFs or Whys there.

Look back at your thread crapping, most of your posts are non-constructive.
There are many other things which already provided in first page or simple google will do.
You expect we all entertain you like sales assistant?

This is just to let lowyat.net mkber know we actually have our own custom keycaps.
In the future we gonna offer more interesting one. I hope people also support.

Thanks to submariners they are supporting with the idea. I am not the only one in coming up with these.

Running GB is not fun at all.
To be honest I have endured the cost for more-or-less a HHKB Pro 2.
I did this is just for our community.

Will open poll for everyone next time, so people can vote for their best.

No people want to backup YJS. Pity him, let me on his side. Well YJS, I guess you better edit your post regarding collecting star before someone report your post and account suspended.

BTW, even if you want to collect star of shame, please don't post something nonconstructive like that famous Unseen83. He troll people everywhere including Facebook, posting shitty reply. If you want to troll others, at least don't be a troll. If you want to admit that something stupid, do it at kopitiam thread.

Well, the subforums can have fan club threads for Filco, Ducky, Voxter, mainstream brands like Corsair and CM. Then mod threads for people who mod. One for Topre. Hao only thread for KMAC/LZ/Orion/Ergodox. And of course a MKB recommendation thread.

That's what I hate.
Who cares about fan club threads. It's really useless.

If you want to talk about switches, then that's something.

In all seriousness though, specific threads about switches and brands should be avoided.
There should be threads about:
How to mod keyboards
How to get stuff from Taobao
Recommendation of keyboards RM0-100
Recommendation of keyboards RM100-200
so on and so forth.

Brands should be avoided entirely.

The only reason for brands to have places where people using the same MKB can discuss and trade ideas. It's not about ooh, I have a Vortex, I'll now join this thread for fun. That will probably occur but it allows a place where people with similar MKBs can trade ideas.

Well, thats why I said have mod threads. How to deal with PCBs, switches and the like. More for poeple who buy individual parts and build it themselves.

Recommendation threads are a given. Good place to get people started with MKBs.

You can refer to existing brand threads.
Useless.

They talk about how long their stuff take to ship, then complain when it does not arrive.
Sometimes it's nice to share the prices, but put that in some Great finds thread, or for that matter, just create one if you see a great deal.

What ideas do you want to share?

Ohh i bought a bling bling logitech Mechanical keyboad. Most expensive evar. Please add me to the namelist

Can i put unicorn vomit LED on my ducky Model 123?
Why not create a thread on LED modding. if someone wants to make a guide for specific keyboards, then do it.

Does red on orange keycaps looks good on my White CM Bling bling keyboard?
The same applies for Bling Bling corsair, and bling bling ducky.
why not just create a thread on "keycaps ideas"

The "A" key on my Ducky don't work, how to fix.
This is the same that would apply for other brands of keyboards

My FILCO koyak already how to RMA, my seller sudah gulung tikar.
This does not happen all the time, and just get the person to start a new thread on this

Not trying to over categorize things, but just wanting to put forth my point that Brand threads are pointless.
Please tell me in what situations where a brand thread is absolutely needed.

Brand threads create unnecessary streaming and posts that are mostly unhelpful.

I don't really support breaking into further sub-forums, splitting some of forums to sub-forums tend to just kill the small community there over time.

*Bout cleaning keycaps with denture tabs previously, I gotten some but it is those with whitening capability (Pearlie White), any ideas if this would spoil my black Ducky keycaps?

That's why I said it will probably occur, and Of course opening too many sub threads will probably dilute the whole idea but nothing wrong with micro communities with idea sharing. Mods, keycaps, LEDs, whatever, could served as inspirations.

For brand threads, Would be perfect to call in brand reps to run those threads and answers questions or give product launch announcements. We don't have to open thread for every single brand out there anyways. MKBs is more towards mods anyways.

Again, this is all an idea. Nothings happening yet. You don't like it. I do. We agree to disagree. smile.gif

Would anyone who actually owns Korean customs(especially KMACs) kindly share their experiences/overall feeling using the board? I'm currently looking at a KMAC LE, just a week after I got my first Topre board. I think I have a condition.

the fn function just to act as led brightness toggle.
I believe pad like duck pad has better support like GUI key mapping.
and also macro features.

But the price is 6 times.

was/am looking to bring in and sell here, but targeted price would be roughly RM 15 per cap x 6 caps = rm 70 - 90. US price is 3usd ea, roughly RM 10+ per cap..

first of all it depends on whether which switch suits you. That, strictly in my opinion only, red switch feels better for me. It might be different for you so you would have to try it out.

second, do you use macros often? do you change them often? if you're not using macros AT ALL you can skip macro keys. or if you're not going to game with your keyboard and you could skip keyboards with macro keys.

lastly, design. what design you prefer? gigabyte's futuristic design or ducky shine 3's simplicity?

not to mention your budget too.

Answer here:
QUOTE(0168257061 @ Apr 24 2014, 10:25 AM)
Ducky Shine 3
*
Reason?

1. Failh switch. Made by cheapo Chinese knock-off manufacturers, the quality is questionable. Not to mention the fact that keycaps might not fit the layout.

2. Best overall build quality, like around top 90% marks from me. Layout is in standard ANSI, which means that it'll be very easy to get a replacement keycap set.

3. Cheapass China rebrand from another manufacturer. They just ask the manufacturers to plaster the Gigabyte logo instead of others. AND YOU'LL NEVER FIND A REPLACEMENT SPACEBAR.

zennasyndroxx, the Green switch in the new blackwidows are actually similar to MX Blues, but you are right in that different users might like different switches.

my budget is RM500..which is guess is enough to get either one of this keyboard... the reason i add osmium in is because there are some reviews that says its much better than blackwidow ultimate..from the extra usb ports and 3.5mm jack...makes this keyboard tempting..

for ducky, i heard very less review about it..plus..some people say you pay so expensive for the special effect of the backlit which is not useful for me..

Yes..i need macro key for gaming..This keyboard will be mainly use for programming and gaming..i play games like COD,Battlefiled, CS etc..

tough choice though..... rclxub.gif

Software macros or bust.

Honestly, if you want a good, solid board, and one that will last for years, go with Ducky.

The others... not so sure....

but well, when you ask any user here most of them might tell you to get ducky. if you don't think the LED is necessary for you you can get other ducky cheaper without LED. but no macro la.

you can use software based macro and then use functions keys to activate? hmm.gif

Go Topre.

No more poison.

I haz about RM 600 or so to spend, then my endgame no.2 is done.

I might be buying a realforce next month instead of a custom TKL.

I'm starting to LOVE Topres, and I almost gave away my MX Brown to a girl.

dear sifus..i would like to ask about comparision between this 3 keyboard..which one do you guys think is better?

1)Razer blackwidow ultimate 2014(green switch)
2)Ducky shine 3 (red switch)
3)gigabyte osmium(red switch)

this will be my first mechanical keyboard so i hope you guys can give me good recommendation about it.

Thank you

No fight ah, those consumer market brand is not even being considered!
Ducky Shine 3, if you don't need LED then upgrade your cash a bit go Filco brand.
Just FYI LED has been some talk about and also argued among members. rolleyes.gif

Go Topre.

No more poison.

I haz about RM 600 or so to spend, then my endgame no.2 is done.

I might be buying a realforce next month instead of a custom TKL.

I'm starting to LOVE Topres, and I almost gave away my MX Brown to a girl.

Day 1: WHAT IS THIS STUPID SHIT FEELS LIKE RUBBER DOME NOOB KEYBOARD I CAN'T BELIEVE I SPENT SO MUCH MONEY WHAT A WASTE !@#E$R%^&*()

Day 2: Ok, let's give this a try. Spend liao lor, what to do?

Day 3: Not bad leh. Like rubber dome la (d'uh) but it feels... different.

Day 4: Try actual rubber dome see.... BLUERGH. HECK NO RUBBER DOME.

Day 5: Wow. The crispness is incredible. Keys respond back to you, as if daring you to type faster. Bottoming out feels so natural unlike Cherry... No hysteresis either.

Day 6: I have realized that Topre needs some getting used to. Let's type more on it.

Day 7-13: Lalalalalala

Day 14: Good oneness with cup rubber. It's no longer you typing on the keyboard, the keyboard is pulling your fingers in and then pushing it back off when you actuated. Typing is an actual joy. The feeling is... overwhelming joy of finally finding the end-game switch for your fingers. Now you look for an excuse to type out long winded sessions and your other keyboards begin to feel neglected.

Day 15: "Where to find Topre keycaps?"

Day 16: Depression because Topre keycaps hard to find.

Day 17: Read up on the Topre-slider-MX-stem inserts. #anewhope

Day 18 onwards: Start saving USD 300 for the whole set.

I've got a question guys. I'm new to these MKB's. I will be owning a black IKBC F104 MX brown w deck hassium caps soon.
1) Is it possible to put LED in my keyboard? How? Is there people who provides this service? How much would it be then?
2) I can change my deck hassium caps with any cap I want? Will it effect the MX Brown typing anyhow?
3) Can I change the black case of my keyboard? how much would it cost for lets say a new coloured case? Any links of any shops that does this?

sorry for all the questions :S :S :S

1) yes, ikbc f104 supports led mod.
where is your location at? we have people who can do this around malaysia tongue.gif

2) you can change to any mx switch keycaps.
the affect will be minimal to none depending on which profile keycaps you change it to.
u can say it's like fine tuning to the feeling during keypress.

3) i haven't seen any f104 top cover for sale yet. but one viable option is to spray it.
either you spray them by yourself, or you can find people offering spray service.
i only know of one guy who does that in lyn, look for pristine

Endgame or bust.

I might have to cut down on MKB though... chase girl starting to get expensive.

First item: phone bill.

FML why I oldskool must use call. owai.jpg

But in the end, you must understand one thing...

When newbies come in, we must on poison to the max. Let them know the God-tier like 016 use what keyboard, and how their CM Storm and Ducky Zero and Rosewill and Corsair will never compare to the majesty of a KMAC2.

I still remember the first meetup I bring my noob gear... damn paiseh man... this time must wait my GHpad and ergodox fully assembled only will go brows.gif icon_idea.gif

If you have all that, then I will recommend. Otherwise... it's cheapo materials all the way.

After that you need to add O-ring to further dampen the sound when bottom-out.
Choose those linear switch such as Red or Black which will further decrease the sound make from tactile feedback.
Best and most silent MKB would be Topre I guess, most poisonous and most comfort among all IMO (but I have yet to try it... sweat.gif )

Its more on luck, the only time i bought an old keyboard from taobao is my ibm model m, and it was fine. All keys working, cable in great condition, just the keycaps a lil dirty. But, Ive just found out that the previous owner changed the screws to nuts, and kinda made me wonder why? hmm.gif

If you like the look of it, why dont you go and take a gamble. Also the keyboard uses an apple proprietary interface, so you have to find an converter to use with modern computers.

Anyone with experience making their diy keyboard know where to get teensy 2.0 in Malaysia? I can get from UK, but prefer to find it in Malaysia first due to postage length.

Only manage to find teensy 3.1 from myduino, and seeing the processor is different between teensy 2.0 and 3.1, Im guessing teensy 2.0 source code for mechanical keyboard wont work in teensy 3.1

From the picture I posted, the Apple M0110 in the picture actually is modded version.
The modder replaced the controller with teensy, so the keyboard is using USB. brows.gif

Just googled it, and yup, modded with teensy. It looks so damn sleek even with the new matrix installed. Also THIS! thumbup.gif

Teensy 2.0 is hardly heard nowadays.
most of the time people do custom use A.87 for TKL.
FaceU or 38GT for 60%
these are base on atmega32u4 / aikon controller.

Aaah, thanks smile.gif glad I ask, at least I found out something new for 60% keyboard controller.
Do you know any place that sells it? Been googling without much luck. Gonskeyboard seems to sell complete pcb.

Edit: 38gt is a complete keyboard pcb or just a modified controller based on atmega32u4? Had a few read on them, and Im confuse. Sorry still new sad.gif

Edit2 : Guess I'm sticking to teensy 2.0 due to firmware code written by Matt3o, which fits perfectly to my layout. Too lazy and its going to be a tedious task to write and rearrange matrices on source code if using other another firmware for another controller.

Just bought a new Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja Brown switch at RM399. The big keys like the Shift, Backspace, Enter and three big keys at Numlock sort of rattle when I lightly tap them (not press, lightly tap). Is it normal?

Anyway, don't know if it's the right place, but does anybody here know where to get keyboard trays?

Yup, very normal.
Long big keys like spacebar, enter, left shift, right shift, and spacebar do have rattle sound or movement.
This is because underneath those long big keys use costar stabilizers to hook the long big keys.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

These are hooked into small plastic inserts that are attached to the keycap on one side, and the base of the keyboard on the other.
What they do is distribute the force evenly across the key cap in the event that only one side is pressed down.
What you are hearing is those little wires rattling back and forth, since they need freedom to move as the key is depressed.

edit: the 3 big keys(0, enter, +) on numpad do have costar stabilizers too.

Huh, that confirms what I've heard about Filco thus far. It does get annoying though since whenever I tap the Backspace button, I can hear the rattling sound.

Keyboard tray refers to those sliding out surfaces normally on computer tables. (https://imgur.com/a/d79zg#0)

After that you need to add O-ring to further dampen the sound when bottom-out.
Choose those linear switch such as Red or Black which will further decrease the sound make from tactile feedback.
Best and most silent MKB would be Topre I guess, most poisonous and most comfort among all IMO (but I have yet to try it...  sweat.gif )

This actually happened on other brand as well that using costar stabilizers in the keyboard.
There is another stabilizers called cherry stabilizers, which is more silent and less rattling. nod.gif

I don't think the rattling is major enough to annoy people, especially it is on a Filco board. Shouldn't be that worse I guess? sweat.gif

Instead I like the costar stabilizer actually, I like the clicky sound and feel when pressed, even on red switch. laugh.gif

The rattling issues can be fixed easily by applying lube like superlube.
do not ever use vaseline as it is petroleum base. It is meant for skin, not for plastic. Not because it is dangerous, but it will dry very fast doh.gif

Yeah, most of these boards look alike, especially the colors. The silver or red for the 1.2 should differentiate it more. I do like the look of these boards. Clean and simple. Though the Tek-80 isn't in production, just a personal project. Too expensive according to some people.

Thinking of saving up for a custom keyboard somewhere down the line, within the next year or so, but we'll see... also fully intend to experience the oneness with cup rubber that I keep hearing about so often.

Nice keycaps there, where you got those? I don't think those are stock.
Planning of Poker2 myself as well, to use in office but I rarely typing long on my chiclet, just feels the rubber dome are now just so stiff compare to my MX Brown (yeah, even chiclet feels stiff).
Met with many obstacles right now, Steelseries Rival to replace my decade old MX518, then there's worn out laptop bag to replace... unsure how long will the bag hold up for my daily abuse.... cry.gif

I'm not sure exactly where the white keycaps are from, I got them used here on LYN. However, it looks like they're the same/very similar to ones you get on Keycool keyboards: http://imgur.com/a/ZZOqH

Don't think anyone can follow this at 100%, even the posture of the keyboard are pretty wrong, no hand can parallel on the keyboard surface, which is why the natural keyboard is introduced (Ergo).
Mouse one is good, flat.

I've got a question. I've connected my Filco Majestouch 2 to my computer through the included PS/2 adapter. I was trying to test NKRO and decided to press as many keys on the keyboard, so I palmed it with my two hands. After that it seems like the modifier keys are stuck or something.

Here's another thread I found that has the same problem. http://www.overclock.net/t/1035637/filco-s...ifiers-and-keys

Anybody else have this issue with their Filco?

*
Quickfire TK is non standard layout for the bottom row, due to 6.5x spacebar; which is very hard to source, except from maxkeyboard. But the keycaps from them are still same or lower quality with laser printing or surface coating iinm.
TK layout is actually very nice if ppl use numpad alot.
LightSaver allow user to customize to their preferred layout that is possible on the pcb, with standard layout and easier to source for keycaps replacement.

Anyone can help me on taobao keyword for poker ii / pure / hhkb plate mount? I've tried google translate for keyword, but keep ending up with keycap, keyboard and cases. No luck on plate.

I've contacted imsto for the plate, still waiting for reply, and just trying my option on taobao.

you looking to change housing for your ducky or poker2?
not sure if there's custom housing for ducky since the miniusb port uses a small interface card mounted on the bottom case and connected to the pcb via cable.

but for poker 2, there seems to have more casing compatible with it, unfortunately i can't give much info about this as i don't have a poker 2 nor read much about it sad.gif

Yeah, I've been thinking about a custom case for my Poker 2 as well. There's this super sweet wooden case on GH and I'm hoping the seller is willing to ship to this part of the world, haha.

yeah i don't mind. I hardly look at the keyboard while im typing. Looking at the monitor most of the time.

I have not received the keyboard yet. The online shop just received the stock today and fitted the pbt caps for me. They are not sure whether its 100% compatible or not since DAS 3 is not. I only paid for the keyboard + shipping, so have to bank in the rest tomorrow.

So, what's the real reason you choose iKBC pbt keycaps instead of other keycaps like imsto, gmk, keycool?
I'm curious, because only iKBC offered italic, other brands normal font(except gmk cherry master race font).

Anyone getting keycaps from Cyntrix? Thinking of getting a specific colored doubleshot pack from them.

Another question too; would most keycaps work with any mech-keyboard or it depends on the keycaps/keyboard much? It is my first time getting keycaps biggrin.gif (using DS3 right now).

Ducky Shine 3 is standard layout, thus almost all keycaps set are compatible with it. smile.gif

Ahh, good to know.

I am looking for white but I think based on their selection, they only have blue, black, yellow, green, red, and purple. Pricing wise is RM129 (or so). Probably will book either blue or green first.

Eh? So you traded your Miracle for Joshua's T1?

Btw do you still prefer the Q701 or the T1 now?

they can live with each other, not a direct competitor. Q 701 brings the vocal and range, while T1 raises the bar of soundstage and trebles which was what I though Q701 has done it all\

p/s my miracle still with me laugh.gif

Guess how much I got for this T1 in cash, and you have a 0.0000000000000000000001 % chance of winning a T1 from me laugh.gif

Ahh, good to know.

I am looking for white but I think based on their selection, they only have blue, black, yellow, green, red, and purple. Pricing wise is RM129 (or so). Probably will book either blue or green first.

Delay, delay delay...

and more delay...

NO communication about the delay either... makes people fret a bit putting money in his hands.

So, which one do you think I am?

not unreliable just that he is slow, that's all.
he do refund and give compensation unlike other gb organiser who never make compensation upon the delays caused by them themselves
