Anyone with experience making their diy keyboard know where to get teensy 2.0 in Malaysia? I can get from UK, but prefer to find it in Malaysia first due to postage length.

Only manage to find teensy 3.1 from myduino, and seeing the processor is different between teensy 2.0 and 3.1, Im guessing teensy 2.0 source code for mechanical keyboard wont work in teensy 3.1

Teensy 2.0 is hardly heard nowadays.
most of the time people do custom use A.87 for TKL.
FaceU or 38GT for 60%
these are base on atmega32u4 / aikon controller.
*
Aaah, thanks smile.gif glad I ask, at least I found out something new for 60% keyboard controller.
Do you know any place that sells it? Been googling without much luck. Gonskeyboard seems to sell complete pcb.

Edit: 38gt is a complete keyboard pcb or just a modified controller based on atmega32u4? Had a few read on them, and Im confuse. Sorry still new sad.gif

Edit2 : Guess I'm sticking to teensy 2.0 due to firmware code written by Matt3o, which fits perfectly to my layout. Too lazy and its going to be a tedious task to write and rearrange matrices on source code if using other another firmware for another controller.

Anyone can help me on taobao keyword for poker ii / pure / hhkb plate mount? I've tried google translate for keyword, but keep ending up with keycap, keyboard and cases. No luck on plate.

I've contacted imsto for the plate, still waiting for reply, and just trying my option on taobao.

is it possible to change from full key to 60% only?
*
Follow the pcb trace, remove the part of pcb you dont want, rewire back on the pcb so that the disconnected pcb part that link the old full pcb are connected. The check connection to controller. In simple term, its hard. Really hard.

or

Desolder the switch from full keyboard, get 60% pcb (someone here can help you get on cheap tongue.gif ), way much simpler job. But usually the final total build price including plate and casing and few other stuff you might add later, its much cheaper to buy brand new 60% keyboard, but not the same satisfaction.

seem like build diy pc, but this is mkb version. form ur words, its seem to be very hard to do it.
*
Here is the link of someone converting full size keyboard to tenkeyless http://imgur.com/a/78WwF .

The one using a new pcb is quite easy, especially if you buy pcb with presoldered controller, diode and resistor. Though the cost of custom diy is quite high. Rough cost for 60% mkb as far as I know:

RM100 - 200 => PCB with presoldered controller + diode + resistor
RM200++ up to .... Rm500? maybe? => switch plate and casing
RM150+-=> For switches enough for 60%, new

Optional
Rm100 + RM20 => for teensy and diode, if you buy pcb without controller like phantom pcb
Rm20 maybe => for led

Oh and delivery charges, as most item comes from China/Europe/US, US and Europe delivery charges is quite expensive.

i guess i buy the finish keyboard then
*
Oh the phantom, requires a bit more of work.
But if you buy the board that 016-god just posted, all those diode/resistor/controller are already soldered. Just need to solder switch. 10x easier than phantom.
Advantages is you can mix switches that you want, and diy keyboard = priceless brows.gif

Add the amount 016-god just posted (rmb 490 = rm260?), and add price for switches + keycap (016 always know where to find a good price laugh.gif ) if you dont already have them. And hire someone to solder them if you dont have any solder kit or not familiar with soldering task.

Or go with kbparadise 60% , either way its the same thing.

There's A87u PCB group buy in EC forum, but not sure if it will hit moq of 20 or not.
Price is about rmb300+ , controllers and smd components are not soldered. Add rmb150 for soldering all iinm.
If wanna save little cost, can request just solder the controller part only and the rest self settle.
*
Found the EC forum thread, but could not understand if its include controller and smd component for rmb300+. Soldering not a problem since I have too much free time to burn blush.gif

And only 1/20 votes sweat.gif

The acrylic case, you've made it pcb mounted? And if Im not wrong, it include 5mm plate, does it flex a little without pcb as a whole case? Thinking of getting one if its sturdy enough without pcb because of hardwire method
And the aluminium case, the price... tongue.gif

This is a plate mounted case. I am not using the one gon selling.
if i got the money I also want to buy sad.gif

Anyway this case, it does not flex when type.
Provided you dont smash that hard like > 100g.

This board I use 45g korean spring in mx brown.
super light. laugh.gif
*
Oh, though I saw pcb from the top view.
And and and where did you buy that case? Still getting money for next project, and that case is too pretty to skip. As long as its cheaper than Gon's whistling.gif

QUOTE(timmychin @ May 31 2014, 02:16 AM)
haha can you teach me how? so i can learn myself?  biggrin.gif i like to fix my own stuff hehe
*
Watch here , skip to 1:01:50 for soldering guide. For desoldering, replace your left hand with solder sucker instead of solder wire and suck away, or watch desoldering youtube guide. You get the drill.

If this is your first time soldering/desoldering, practice on something else first just incase you might burn the pcb, which is hard anyway. Burned pcb is still fixable.

Or send to 016 laugh.gif

Anyhow anyone ever found case similar to this on taobao or any chinese forum? Gon's too expensive sweat.gif and my taobao searching skill suck. Just need the top + plate to be combined together
