(Relative) n00b comin' through!

user posted image

CM Storm Quickfire Stealth w/ MX Browns and front printed white PBT keycaps (will probably get another set down the road)
Poker 2 w/ MX Blues

Being both a musician and budding mechanical keyboard enthusiast is super hard on the wallet, haha. Thankfully I'm pretty happy with my current synths, effects and recording gear, so I can divert some money to keyboards. Thinking of saving up for a custom keyboard somewhere down the line, within the next year or so, but we'll see... also fully intend to experience the oneness with cup rubber that I keep hearing about so often.

I'm not sure exactly where the white keycaps are from, I got them used here on LYN. However, it looks like they're the same/very similar to ones you get on Keycool keyboards: http://imgur.com/a/ZZOqH

Yeah, I've been thinking about a custom case for my Poker 2 as well. There's this super sweet wooden case on GH and I'm hoping the seller is willing to ship to this part of the world, haha.

I spend enough time staring at my keyboard when I'm bored at work that I don't think I could live with italic keycaps, haha.

Yeah, I think I saw the same case on Taobao, but I couldn't find the link just now. Hahaha. Found it now. Thanks for the reminder about the price.

I think it is, the images on both the Taobao link and Qtan's store look the same. The pricing is also the same as what 016 mentioned.

gg wallet, man.

why is the spacebar so awkward, the other way round??  hmm.gif

I don't know about you guys, but after I tried flipping the spacebar around (like in that image), I'm never going back to the normal spacebar orientation. It just feels so much better.

Going by the number of results on Geekhack alone if you do a quick Google search for "Cherry MX Blue not clicking" or something of the sort (here and here for example), I'd wager that it's a somewhat common problem. Saw some people suggesting that a quick blast of compressed air might help, maybe that's something you can try?

For what it's worth, the Esc key on my Poker 2 is very obviously a lot less clicky than the other switches; if it were a more high-traffic key I'd probably be a wee bit annoyed but, as it is, I don't mind too much.

That 456GT is just urgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I've been following the Duck Viper thread on GH, seems like there's going to be a group buy in the near future? Might just have to get in on that action...

Anybody putting in orders for Ivan's latest batch of novelty keycaps? Won't lie, that Akira design is calling my name...
