Bought my 1st mkb poker II last month, then thanks to this poisonous thread i also decided to mod my first diy keyboard.
After doing some study i plan to diy LED onto each switch, then change to acrylic case (alu case damn far beyond my budget), and some bling bling for the acrylic case. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by min86: May 5 2014, 10:13 PM |

Thanks, actually i already applied the method onto the side surface, but the result is not really good, perhaps i will take out and put more effort onto it. |

I'm still new to custom mkb like gh60, kmac, and etc. How to flash a desired keymap layout to the custom keyboard? Are they using same software to flash the firmware? Can we change the keymap layout as we like and upload it to our keyboard?

QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ May 12 2014, 09:20 PM) Depends, some pcb can be flashed using same software if they are using same or similar controller. thanks for the explain, am thinking to get 1 myself tooSuch as kmac and duck pcb are both using flip to flash the firmware/keymap. Yes, u can always change the keymap layouts and flash it. That's the reason of getting a custom because most oem board cant do so. |

Dear all, after months i used my poker II, changed keycaps, case, led mod, i'm really been poisoned and starting to spot for my second mkb.
TKL definitely will be my next mkb, and thanks to all haoness owner here kept showing custom tkl, i'm also thinking to get 1 myself. Anyone knows where can i get a custom 87keys like orion? and maybe some other model recommendation? I realize that new one might cost like 1000++ so if there is any used tkl it would be good too. |

So far i don't have this problem, works smoothly on my poker currently.Had you tried on different type of mx keys? Stupid assumption: it might react differently on other types of mx keys btw im using mx blue |

QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ May 29 2014, 10:35 AM) Said many times. Lightsaver is best. Can get TK number of keys, and only slightly bigger than a TKL. Personally, my endgame keyboard. Thanks for the recommendation. But 96 keys not reallly attracts me. Previously i was waiting for the redscarfd II which is 77 keys, similar to lightsaver but without the function keys on top row. But when the picture is shown, feeling not really like it. Thus i think i would just go for normal tkl layout.Though the price for redscarf is quite attractive, cost around rm500++ for complete pcb, casing, switches and etc » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(zennasyndroxx @ May 29 2014, 10:45 AM) My budget is around 1k for new one, anyone knows how much orion cost? I don't know where to source this productWas looking at Nerd TKL but found nearly $500 usd for a new one, beyond my budget already with this amount of budget any tkl recommendation? Perhaps any Hao owner here like to sell their used one? |

QUOTE(zennasyndroxx @ May 29 2014, 11:45 AM) If you're not going for fullbacklit led then you can go for phantom PCB. Then you need to get teensy controller, diodes for 87 keys and also if I'm not mistaken 2 resistors for caps and scroll lock led. Thanks for the advise, phantom is not my choice as i would like to have bling effect. I am considering nerd tkl now, any chances where i can find cheap tkl case for nerd?I'm not sure whether is it possible but you can get nerd TKL (as them to install cherry stabs for you if you don't want to go through the hassle of sourcing the stabs on your own, and get any other cheaper TKL case, then youll have to install the diodes and all also. Else, wait for any TKL group buy at enjoy click. And also I think there's a orion groupbuy going on at geekhack. You could always check that out. QUOTE(0168257061 @ May 29 2014, 12:19 PM) redscarf 77 is good for you. Yeah the redscarf price is tempting, but i'm not really into the layoutRM500 for a complete custom is very good price already. orion is 450usd which translate to at least 1500RM. there is kmac1, 330-350usd only. grab that if you want. thinking to get nerd tkl now |
