Just bought a new Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja Brown switch at RM399. The big keys like the Shift, Backspace, Enter and three big keys at Numlock sort of rattle when I lightly tap them (not press, lightly tap). Is it normal?

Anyway, don't know if it's the right place, but does anybody here know where to get keyboard trays?

its normal.
keyboard tray mean cover?
*
Huh, that confirms what I've heard about Filco thus far. It does get annoying though since whenever I tap the Backspace button, I can hear the rattling sound.

Keyboard tray refers to those sliding out surfaces normally on computer tables. (https://imgur.com/a/d79zg#0)

I don't think the rattling is major enough to annoy people, especially it is on a Filco board. Shouldn't be that worse I guess?  sweat.gif

Instead I like the costar stabilizer actually, I like the clicky sound and feel when pressed, even on red switch.  laugh.gif

I've got a question. I've connected my Filco Majestouch 2 to my computer through the included PS/2 adapter. I was trying to test NKRO and decided to press as many keys on the keyboard, so I palmed it with my two hands. After that it seems like the modifier keys are stuck or something.

Here's another thread I found that has the same problem. http://www.overclock.net/t/1035637/filco-s...ifiers-and-keys

Anybody else have this issue with their Filco?

Filco NKRO Test

Majestouch 2 users, could you spare a minute and test your own boards and see if this turns up?

Even if switch back 6kro the problem still persist?
*
Problem doesn't exist on 6KRO. Since the problem theoretically occurs whenever more than 15+ keys are pressed and quickly released.

Try pressing both Shift keys at the same time. See whether it helps. Let me know after you try.

It seems like you activated stickykeys in windows 8, the beep was the proof.

From the video, Alt + F in chrome mean drop down menu of chrome.
Alt + F4, mean close the window.

The keyboard still can press from the video. Please check whether your stickykeys activated and let us know further.
Thanks.

I've tried mashing all the keys as in the video, since that's my testing procedure. I activated the beep, then proceed to check whether Sticky Keys are active in the Ease of Access panel and it doesn't seem so. Sticky Keys is unchecked and I've also disabled the "Lock modifier keys ....." option. Still the same thing.

The easiest to test is the Shift key stuck modifier, but the interesting thing is other modifier keys such as Ctrl and Alt are also affected. The fix which you tried (pressing both sides of modifier keys) seems to fix it. I've since ruled out OS specific problems since I can reproduce the problem on Linux, although that was only one instance.

I contact Daitec and they actually cleared my board for RMA, I'm just running through with everybody for the last time before I actually RMA it and be left without my board for a whole month sad.gif

In that way I will rather stay with 6kro if there's no reason to use nkro.
Else u may up to RMA step >_>
*
Well I've read on GeekHack forums that another user encountered this issue, I just wanted to confirm if it's just specific people (in which case, I will RMA it) or if it affects other brands and majority of Filco users.

You should RMA it.
I don't have ps/2 to try, so I only use 6kro for my Filco.
*
Noted. That's strange, I thought all Filco boards come with a PS/2 adapter included within the box itself.

there is someone reported this issues back to few months ago.
there are quite a number of filco uers here i believe, but no one bothers it.

since pressing so much keys in one time is not practical in normal usage,
unless you always smash your keyboard with two hand.  laugh.gif
*
Haha, I believe that person could be me. tongue.gif

I'm just generally curious and I want to know whether RMA'ing it will actually make a difference. Don't want to be without my board for a whole month and end up getting the same problems.

you can try to rma, after waited for weeks still the same i dont know what will happen. laugh.gif
other wise, it is still impractical to press more than 15 keys at one time.
*
In that case, I'll take the dive and RMA it whenever I'm free. If it comes back and I still get the same thing, then nothing we can do about it. Kind of sucks though, since I was expecting full NKRO, which it does deliver in some sense. doh.gif

So, remember that whole stuck modifier key issue I had awhile back? I got a new replacement from C-zone, same issue still occurs. Guess it's universal.

Search for my posts in this thread. I posted a bit about having stuck modifier keys on Filco (via PS/2) as I was trying to test the NKRO feature.

Is it the sticky key issue that quova mentioned previously? I thought it was solved by simple tips.
I wonder why people are insisting for nkro thou, unless u are really using this feature like at least 50% of your time spending on the keyboard.  sweat.gif
*
Haha, I thought it was sticky key till I changed OS from Windows 8.1 to Ubuntu 14.04 and found the same issue. I even brought the keyboard to the store to test today and they got the same issue.

Well since Filco advertises NKRO, I'd expect it to at least provide. I mean universally CM Storm is considered a tier below Filco, even that achieves NKRO (I don't know whether they have the same issue), if Filco can't get it, something's up.

Perhaps it is still not fully compatible to win8 or some of the OS thou.
CM might be one tier below of the build quality, but feature wise is still CM storm.
*
Perhaps. I've reached out to Daitec since then. You're right though, NKRO is a nice thing to have but it's not exactly necessary. I find PS/2 responds somewhat quicker to keystrokes, that's been my finding at least. Ah well, I'll bite my bullet and eat it. For the price of this Majestouch 2 Ninja, I could have gotten the swankiest CM Storm board. tongue.gif
